All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $750 Meet Loofah – The Cuddle Sponge!  At 22 lbs of pure, non-shedding softness, Loofah is here to scrub away your bad days with snuggles, love, and just the right amount of clinginess. This 2 year old velcro pup doesn’t just want to be near you—he wants to be on you, leaning in like he’s the human equivalent of a weighted blanket. If you’ve ever wished your bath loofah could follow you around the house, this is your chance. Loofah starts his mornings with an enthusiastic potty dash (small bladder, big commitment), followed by breakfast and a relaxing day of being right there beside you. He’s an expert in lounging, lap-warming, and staring lovingly into your soul while you work. On walks, he transforms into a happy little trotter, occasionally zigzagging like he’s composing an abstract masterpiece on the sidewalk. Squirrels? Very intriguing. Other dogs? A sniff, a nod, and a polite move-along—like the cool kid in the dog park. Loofah currently shares his foster home with two cats, and while he thought chasing them might be a fun game at first, they quickly taught him otherwise. After a firm 'no' and some serious feline side-eye, he got the message. Now? He coexists peacefully, even exchanging sweet nose boops with one of them! Because of this, we think Loofah is a great candidate for a home with cats—especially ones who, like his current roommates, know how to set boundaries. His foster family adores him and has plenty of hilarious and heartwarming stories to tell. 'People stop us on walks just to admire him—he's got that ‘ridiculously handsome’ kind of charm,' his foster says. 'He also sleeps on his back with his paws up, looking like a teddy bear that’s just given up on life. And car rides? The first time we opened the door, he hopped right in, curled up on the floor mat, and napped like he’d been doing it forever.' Another favorite quirk? Mealtime manners. 'He’ll wait patiently in the kitchen but won’t start eating until I pretend to chop veggies and ‘add’ them to his bowl. I don’t know where he picked this up, but it cracks me up every time.' Loofah is fully house-trained (as long as you don’t forget that early morning potty break!), but crating is a hard no—he much prefers your bed, your couch, or anywhere you are. He thrives in a home where someone is around most of the time, as he finds deep comfort in human companionship. If you’re looking for an affectionate, well-behaved, cat-approved snuggle buddy who will be your devoted shadow, Loofah is ready to soak up all the love—and give it right back. March 6, 2025, 11:53 am

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $800 Meet Bagel Bites – Your Perfect Little Snack-Sized Sidekick! Introducing Bagel Bites—our pint-sized pup with a heart as warm and fluffy as a freshly toasted bagel! At around 3 years old, this bite-sized beauty is ready to spread some love without the fur all over her forever home. The Breakfast of Champions Just like her namesake, Bagel Bites is a delightful little snack of a pup! She’s got a zest for life that’s as satisfying as a warm, cheesy bite of your favorite comfort food. She loves playing with toys, hoarding socks like they’re secret ingredients, and wiggling her way into your heart—one adorable snuggle at a time. Bagel Bites’ Bedtime Rituals At night, BB is a dream companion. She happily curls up in her crate, snuggles in, and sleeps straight through without a single complaint—no midnight snack runs necessary! But be warned: her favorite place to snooze during the day? Your lap, if you’ll let her. Otherwise, she’s perfectly content burrowing into a cozy spot, preferably surrounded by her beloved toy collection. Bagel Bites’ Favorite Pastime? She’s an enthusiastic little dynamo who loves to zoom around, chase her own tail (a personal favorite game), and collect her favorite toys like a true treasure hunter. She’s got the heart of a champion and the energy of a pup who’s finally discovering what it means to play. Bonus: she’s also a certified sock thief—so keep an eye on your laundry! Walking? Let’s Just Say… It’s a Work in Progress As bold and fearless as she is inside, stepping out the door is still a bit intimidating for BB. She’s getting used to the world outside but is currently more of a “freeze frame” kind of walker—meaning she sometimes stops mid-stride, deciding she’d rather not. We’re working on building her confidence so she can learn that the great outdoors is not just a vast, unpredictable land of spooky noises and scary sidewalk cracks. But in the meantime, she’ll need a patient adopter who can keep up her potty training and gently encourage her as she learns to love the outside world. Doggie Diplomacy BB is a fantastic pup when it comes to making furry friends! She’s very respectful of other dogs and loves to play—though she may try to recruit them into her exclusive “bagel hoard,” where she gathers and protects her favorite toys like a tiny, adorable dragon. She’s also been polite and appropriate with cats, but her playful energy and love for sock-thievery mean she might be best suited to a home with older children. Housetraining: The Great Adventure We’re still mastering the fine art of potty training, and BB needs a patient family willing to keep up a consistent routine. She’s a bit nervous outside, which makes potty breaks a challenge, but we’re working on it. Inside, she’s learning to use pee pads (though sometimes she misses the memo… and, well, steps in it). When her human isn’t home, she hangs out in her comfy playpen with her toys and takes long, relaxing naps. Road Trip Ready Despite her outdoor jitters, BB is a dream in the car—she just curls up in her seat and naps the ride away. She’s also done well in stores when riding in a stroller, and she’s making progress with her leash walking. She’ll need a patient family to help her feel safe and confident outside. Are You Ready to Toast This Bagel? If you’re looking for the perfect balance of playful and snuggly, Bagel Bites is your girl. She may need some help with her confidence outside, but inside, she’s a warm, affectionate, and happy little pup who wants to be your new best friend. She’s got the kind of spirit that rises like fresh dough and a heart as gooey and warm as the cheesiest snack. Are you ready to let this little snack-sized sweetheart roll into your heart?  March 14, 2025, 3:40 pm

Matilda is a 10-12-month-old Maltipoo, a magical mix of Maltese and Poodle, meaning she’s non-shedding, hypoallergenic, and perfect for anyone who loves a cuddly companion without the extra vacuuming. Weighing in at just 7 lbs, she’s travel-sized for your convenience—whether that’s to the office, your favorite dog-friendly café, or a weekend adventure. Matilda is equal parts brain and heart: she’s confident, friendly, and always ready to charm everyone she meets. A Day in the Life of Matilda 7:30 AM - The Morning Ritual Matilda wakes up when you do, stretching her tiny legs before trotting outside for her morning potty break. Then it’s breakfast time—her favorite meal of the day (besides dinner, of course!). After a little digestion time, she’s ready for a quick walk around the neighborhood, where she proudly struts her fluffy coat, greeting passersby with a tail wag. 9:00 AM - Office Time! Matilda is a fantastic work-from-home or bring-to-the-office pup. She’s already excelling in her role as 'Chief Cuddle Consultant' at her foster mom’s workplace, where she spends the day snoozing in a cozy spot, soaking up attention from coworkers, and taking midday potty breaks and strolls around the building. If you work from home, expect her to keep you company under your desk or curled up beside you—offering emotional support in the form of tiny snores. 5:30 PM - Playtime & Dinner After a day of “hard work,” it’s time for dinner, followed by a burst of playful zoomies. Matilda may be small, but she’s full of spunk! She loves to wrestle with her foster dog sibling, chase after toys, and engage in a little sassy “talking” (a deep, funny growl that sounds hilarious coming from such a tiny pup). 10:00 PM - Sweet Dreams After one last potty break, Matilda happily tucks herself into her crate for the night, sleeping quietly until morning. She’s a dream dog—literally and figuratively! A Leading Lady with a Big Personality Much like her namesake, Matilda is whip-smart, independent, and full of confidence. She adores people and dogs alike, making friends wherever she goes. She’s playful but not hyper, affectionate but not clingy—she’s that perfect balance of fun and snuggly. She’d love to have a friendly dog sibling but would also thrive in a home where she gets plenty of attention from her humans. Despite her tiny size, Matilda has a big-dog attitude. She’s not timid or shy—she marches into new situations with curiosity and charm. If you want a pup who’s ready to join you on brunch dates, coffee runs, and park outings, Matilda is your girl. She’s the perfect conversation starter, guaranteed to turn heads with her adorable face and cheerful demeanor. Maltipoo Perks & Care Maltipoos are known for their low-shedding, hypoallergenic coats, which makes them a great option for allergy sufferers. However, their soft, curly fur requires regular brushing and grooming to keep them looking like the fluffy little clouds they are. Matilda will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks to keep her coat in tip-top shape. The Perfect Home for Matilda Matilda would thrive in a home where she gets plenty of attention, whether that’s from another playful pup, a dog-friendly office, or a person who can spend lots of time with her. She’d be great with older, respectful kids and would likely do well with a dog-savvy cat. She’s nearly house-trained when kept on schedule and is already crate-trained. If you’re looking for a dog who’s equal parts playful, snuggly, and full of personality—Matilda is ready to write her next chapter with you. Could you be her happily ever after? If you’ve been craving the perfect dog, consider this your sign—Tuna Melt is fresh off the rescue menu and ready to be your main course in love and companionship! This 5-6-year-old, non-shedding MaltiPoo is the ultimate blend of sweet and savory: a chill little guy with a soft, hypoallergenic coat, a heart full of love, and a mild obsession with “fluffing” anything that isn’t nailed down. Rescued from an overcrowded shelter, Tuna Melt arrived a little shy but quickly warmed up with the help of his MaltiPoo foster buddy. Now? He’s as comfortable as a freshly fluffed pillow. He spends his days following his foster mom around the house (not in a clingy way—more like a polite food critic keeping an eye on the chef). He enjoys a solid 45-minute to 1-hour walk every day, greeting people and dogs alike with the perfect balance of friendliness and nonchalance. If you’re looking for a high-energy fetch fanatic, he’s not your guy. But if you want a companion who’s happy to stroll beside you, lounge by your feet, and politely observe the world? Tuna Melt is served! Now, let’s talk about his talents—because this dog is seasoned in the art of being adorable. First, he’s a professional fluffologist. Rugs, blankets, jackets left on chairs—if it’s fluffable, Tuna Melt will fluff it. You might think your living room is fine as-is, but Tuna Melt insists on some interior design adjustments. He also excels in crate training, enjoys bully sticks, and has never met a dog he didn’t like. He even welcomes houseguests, from Havanese to Chihuahuas, with open paws. No unnecessary drama here—just chill, friendly vibes. Tuna Melt is almost fully house-trained (just a bit more time and consistency should do the trick). He barks appropriately—mailman? Yes. Foster mom coming home? Of course. Random imaginary ghosts? Nope. He’s also shockingly fearless; while most dogs flee the vacuum, Tuna Melt just lounges in its path like he’s daring it to try him. He’s even cool with baths and blow-drying. Truly, an icon of relaxation. The ideal home for Tuna Melt? One where he gets to spend time with his humans or has another friendly dog to keep him company. He’d be a perfect work-from-home buddy—content to nap while you work but always up for a nice walk when you need a break. He doesn’t demand constant attention, but he does demand a properly fluffed nap spot. In return, you’ll get a loving, low-maintenance, utterly delightful companion. So, if you’re looking for a pup that’s equal parts cozy and classy, Tuna Melt is waiting for you to place your order. Apply now—before someone else snags this perfect pup off the menu!March 15, 2025, 12:55 am

Poor Mochi was neglected severely matted and very dirty at a distant shelter. Shelter had him shaved down by a kind groomer who donated her service. ð&#194&#159&#194&#146&#194&#156ð&#194&#159&#194&#152&#194&#141 He did get a nick on his tail from shave down. Needed a bandage on his tail. He was badly matted to his skin. Now he feels so much better. Happy and lovable. Mochi has been great with the foster home's 2 dogs cuddly polite friendly and very sweet. He is an absolute love very sweet snuggly polite and affectionate. Mochi loves his healthy foods and cuddling with foster mom. He will rest learn and get healthy and then will get his neuter surgery. More info. to come. Update: Mochi needs a new experienced foster home. He did great at his first temporary foster home with their two dogs. Loved cuddling lounging and quiet home with yard. Now that is feeling better and comfortable... They have biz travels so he was moved to a foster home monday evening in San Francisco with another dog. But city life is too noisy and busy for him. High foot traffic on walks. To much for him while he is adjusting and learning. At first foster home in San Jose with quiet neighborhood and backyard he was calmer and relaxed. Need experienced foster home to guide and train him on walks to not do reactive barking at new dogs. He loves to cuddle and very sweet. Good with her dog at home.February 27, 2025, 12:37 pm
