Story
Hey! My name is Stray Charles. I am incredibly sweet and affectionate, especially with the ladies. I like to show off my silky, soft hair and I don’t shed very much, so I know how much they will love me! I am more selective about men. Some are fine, while others might see my protective side. My ideal home would be a home with no children or men. I will make a loyal companion for a person but that person or people need to know that I will be protective of them once we have bonded. When company comes over it’s best if I stay in my kennel. I walk well on a leash as long as no other humans are in sight. Currently I have a few things I’m working on. I’m starting to figure out house training and I go stand at the door when I need to go potty. It takes me a while to warm up to new people so I need a family that is willing to be patient with me and ideally no men in the home. I am an incredibly talented jumper so I need a home with a tall fence. This is also one of my strengths because I would do great on an outdoor adventute and obstacles won't slow me down (future agility champion?)! I’m very good in my kennel when my foster mom is out but at night I need to sleep in bed with you and I promise I will lie peacefully through the night next to you or at the end of the bed. I haven’t met any cats yet but I absolutely love every dog I meet especially once my own size. I’m very playful and I share my treats and bones nicely. If you are looking for a loyal side kick then I’m the little guy you are looking for. *** Because I am slow to warm up, Foster to Adopt (FTA) may be available for the right fit. ##2002461##

Story
Hi my name is Bethany. I am the sweetest little girl ever! I love all people big and little. I also get along great with other dogs and I love to play! Toys are so great.  I have beautiful long hair normally but I needed a short haircut to get out all of the tangles.  I am doing well with kennel training and sleep in my kennel all night with only minor protests at first. I am making great progress with potty training too. I  go potty outside most of the time. I haven't had much practice with leash walking but I sure do think it is fun.  I am still young and have puppy energy. I will be an awesome companion for most family situations If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about The Rescue Crew adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our Adoption Process page on our official website.  All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.  The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. ##2110743##

Story
Dora is a sweet girl who is learning to trust us. She is still scared but follows us around the house. She likes my resident dogs. Loves to be outside. She sleeps in her kennel at night. She does bark when she wants to go out potty. She is working on going potty outside. She is doing an awesome job and we will keep working with her.  Age: 12 years old Breed: Maltese Weight: 5lbs Kid-friendly: She is a nervous nelly but would do great! Dogs: She would benefit from another dog in the home! Cats: Unknown but couldn't imagine having an issue. Crate trained: She likes to be around her person so she will bark in a crate. Potty trained: She will go on a pee pad. Health concerns: Dora has 5 mammary masses on her mammary chain. Due to this, she will not be spayed. Dora will need her ears cleaned frequently. Current medications & estimated costs: Possible ear medications + cleanings Adoption fee: $100 As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.)  Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine.  $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.   Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience.  We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation.  Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days.  Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior. We appreciate your support!   August 19, 2024, 9:59 am

Story
Our sweet Lily is seeking a very special home <3   Because she came from a lifetime of breeding, she has 2 vertebrates that are bone on bone and filled with arthritis. She wasn't someone's family member or their pet, her and many others were used specifically for breeding with minimal veterinary care provided to ensure they live a healthy and happy life. Without pain medication, she has the continuous urge to defecate.  This could be because doing so relieves some back pain and/or behavior.   Lily is extremely sweet + loves to be loved on by her people. At only 6lbs, she loves to be carried around. She is great with other dogs and cats. She loves to lounge and sleep during the day. As long as she sees her human, she is comfortable and safe. She does experience anxiety when she is unable to see her person therefore we do not recommend a home with shared walls. Lily does well when taken outside on a regular schedule, however, she is also comfortable in diapers. Sweet Lily has learned to navigate three stairs but hasn't conquered a flight.    Lily has so much love to give a special person looking for the sweetest companion. She's ready to spend the rest of her life completely spoiled + we believe she is so deserving after the life she's had.   After years of having babies, she is ready to be someone's baby. Age: 11 Breed: Maltese Weight: 6.4 Lbs Kid-friendly: Yes  Dogs: Yes Cats: Yes Crate trained:  Yes but she will bark. Potty trained: She needs to be taken out often (every 2-hours) but she also does fine in diapers. Health concerns: None - Recently Spayed Medications:  Rimadyl, Gabapentin, Fluoxetine, Probiotic and Laxative   Diet: PetFresh - She needs to be on a food other than kibble or canned.  Human grade or homemade dog food, this reduces her 'output' during the day.  If she goes back to kibble she will poop in the house non-stop. Adoption fee: $50 As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hey there, I'm Morty, the charming Maltese on the lookout for my forever home. Let me give you the scoop on what makes me special. At 7 pounds and 7 years young, I may be small, but my personality is mighty. I'm friendly, curious, and playful—always up for a good time! Despite my luxating knees, I don't let it slow me down. With a little extra care and some glucosamine, I'm ready to tackle life head-on. I'm a social butterfly who loves making new friends, whether they're furry or not. Playing with other dogs and even cats? Count me in! Squeaky toys are my jam, and I'll happily gather them in my favorite bed for a play session. Plus, I'm a foodie at heart—I'll devour treats, fruits, and peanut butter like there's no tomorrow. While I may not be a fan of the kiddos under 12, I'm still working on mastering the art of potty training. I'm a quick learner, though, and with a little patience and consistency, I'll get there in no time. At night, I sleep quietly in my kennel, but I might get a bit chatty when I hear someone stirring in the morning. Now, about those stairs—I'm still getting the hang of them. I prefer homes with minimal stairs to spare my precious knees, but don't worry, I don't mind being carried. And if you lay out a trail of rugs on those slippery floors, I'll be forever grateful, especially in the kitchen where I love to supervise meal prep. In a nutshell, I'm cute, snuggly, and full of personality. I adore cuddling on the couch and striking my best playboy pose when you want to scoop me up. So, if you're ready to open your heart and home to a furry friend like me, let's make it happen! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared.  Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses .   Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.  Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in th eir forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a   particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.     ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi there! My name is Jean, and I'm a timid and loving 6-year-old female Maltese Mix with a lot of love to give. I weigh around 13 lbs, making me the perfect size for snuggles and playtime. Let me tell you a bit about myself! I absolutely love being outside and running around in a fenced yard. Toys of all kinds are my favorite, and you'll often find me playing with them happily. When I'm not playing, I enjoy relaxing and soaking up some sun. I can be a little shy, especially when there is overwhelming commotion or with quick motions, but once I feel comfortable, I open up and show my sweet and loving personality. I'm potty trained using both a potty pad and go outside, I will need a little more practice in my forever home to stay on a routine. I'm also crate trained and know the command for "kennel/crate" as well as a command for "outside." While I enjoy my crate, I do prefer being out and about with my humans. A fenced yard is essential for me because I'm not leash trained and can be fearful of new things, making me a flight risk. I don't need to be placed in a home with another dog, but I do love human company and would thrive in a home where my people are around most of the time. I only bark when I'm alarmed, so I'm generally a quiet companion. I'm very sweet and loving, and with a bit of patience and understanding, I blossom into a wonderful, loyal friend. If you're looking for a gentle and affectionate companion who will bring joy and love to your home, I'm your girl! Love,  Jean *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.
