Story
Meet Loki! He was adopted from us as a puppy and just returned because one of the kids developed allergies. He’s a super playful, happy guy who loves to run around with other dogs and then sit in your lap for some pets. He’s half pug, half maltese and has a wiry mixed type hair. Loki is 10 months old and fully grown at 19 pounds. He seems to be house trained. He’d love to find a forever home soon!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.July 14, 2024, 9:22 pm

Story
Hi everyone! I’m Brodie. I’m a Maltese mix that came into rescue two years ago.    My cons: I am slow to warm up, however, once I get to trust you, I love to be on your lap and will sleep with you. I bark at new people, dogs and cats. I let people pet me if they come down to my level. I also have seizures and take daily medication for this. My medication is cheap (you can get a three month supply for $20 with the Good Rx app!)    My pros: I’m a small dog that is housebroken and just love to be around my people. I love to chew on my toys and if you throw a ball or toy, I will run after it. I walk pretty well on my leash with the occasional pull.    I was pulled from a shelter after my owner passed away. I am still learning that new people are okay. Like I said, it takes me a bit to warm up but once I do, I will follow you around forever. If you have the patience and would love to make me a part of your family, please fill out an application!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $475.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 15, 2024, 12:21 am

Story
Dora is a sweet girl who is learning to trust us. She is still scared but follows us around the house. She likes my resident dogs. Loves to be outside. She sleeps in her kennel at night. She does bark when she wants to go out potty. She is working on going potty outside. She is doing an awesome job and we will keep working with her.  Age: 12 years old Breed: Maltese Weight: 5lbs Kid-friendly: She is a nervous nelly but would do great! Dogs: She would benefit from another dog in the home! Cats: Unknown but couldn't imagine having an issue. Crate trained: She likes to be around her person so she will bark in a crate. Potty trained: She will go on a pee pad. Health concerns: Dora has 5 mammary masses on her mammary chain. Due to this, she will not be spayed. Dora will need her ears cleaned frequently. Current medications & estimated costs: Possible ear medications + cleanings Adoption fee: $125 As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.)  Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine.  $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.   Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience.  We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation.  Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days.  Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior. We appreciate your support!   July 12, 2024, 4:01 pm

She is good with other dogs with proper slow intros and dog savvy cats: small kids are unknown. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training.Daisy Duke is a super affectionate and snuggly gal. She is not picky about her food and is potty trained. She walks well on a leash but is content to be carried as well. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hello! I'm Emerald, a sweet and timid Maltipoo weighing in at 8 pounds. I'm 5 years old and ready to find a loving forever home where I can continue to grow and thrive. At home, I'm an absolute delight. My adorable looks and sweet disposition make it easy to fall in love with me. I'm still adjusting to my new surroundings, so I'm a bit timid, but my loving nature shines through. I’m trying really hard to be a brave girl and let my people pet me, with some patience I know I will gain the courage to sit near you. While I'm not quite fully potty trained yet, I'm really close when kept on a good schedule. I'm also crate trained, although I do bark when I'm in my crate. However, I've never had an accident in there. I'm working on my leash training and occasionally go for walks, but I still need more practice. Sometimes, I freeze when I'm on a leash, but with patience and gentle encouragement, I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. While I don’t require a fence, having one would help me use some energy and get on a potty routine. I get along well with smaller dogs and would benefit from having another dog in the house to learn from. Having another dog will help me get on a routine and learn to trust people. I do bark when left alone, so having a furry friend around might help me feel more secure. It would be best if I don't have shared walls in my forever home.  One thing to know about me is that I'm still quite timid. I really want to be loved and snuggled, but sometimes I struggle to get close enough for pets. This is getting better every day, though! I even sleep with my foster family and let them pet me while we're in bed. Getting down to my level helps too, as I wag my tail like crazy when someone does that. If you're looking for a sweet companion who just needs a little patience and a lot of love, I'm your girl. I can't wait to find a forever home where I can feel safe and loved every day. *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. Visit this link  www.underdogrescuemn.com/donate   to donate.  (Please note: A Paypal account is not necessary to use Paypal. Story
Meet Stevie, the delightful Maltese with a heart of gold! At 9 years young and weighing a dainty 7.5 pounds, Stevie is ready to charm his way into your heart and home. Having been a part of a breeder release, Stevie is now reveling in his newfound freedom. While he may be independent, he's not one to shy away from a good cuddle session, though he equally adores lounging in his cozy dog bed. One of Stevie's greatest joys is basking in the sunshine in a fenced yard, soaking up the warmth of the outdoors. With his newly acquired leash skills, he's ready for leisurely strolls with his patient companion. Although he's still perfecting his potty manners, Stevie is making great strides and is eager to please. And when it's time to call it a night, there's nothing he loves more than snuggling up beside you for a peaceful slumber. Stevie is a social butterfly, getting along famously with both dogs and gentle children. His playful spirit shines brightest when he's engaging in lively games with his favorite toys or frolicking with other pint-sized pups. To keep him healthy and happy, Stevie requires a special diet of CD prescription food for urinary crystals and a small dose of Enalapril for his tender heart. He's also undergone a dental procedure with extractions, ensuring he's in tip-top shape for his forever family. With his endearing personality and unwavering affection, Stevie is eagerly awaiting the perfect match to share his love and companionship. Could you be the one to open your heart to this precious pup? Adoption fee is #300 plus tax Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org
