After her owner passed away, the son who inherited the home and Maggie showed up once, threw her outside, locked the door, and never came back. Maggie was left to fend for herself, but her resilience and the kindness of a loving neighbor led her to us at Rainbow Bridge Hospice Rescue. Despite the neglect she endured, Maggie's spirit remains unbroken. She is currently receiving the love and care she desperately needs. We're taking her to the vet to address her cherry eyes and malnourishment. With the proper care, Maggie will soon be ready for her forever home where she will never be abandoned again. We are seeking sponsors to help with Maggie’s medical care and rehabilitation. Your support can make a significant difference in Maggie’s recovery and ensure she finds the loving home she deserves. I adopted Lady from a humane society in Northern Michigan. She had been a stray in Detroit for an undetermined amount of time. Her age is guessed to be between 8 and 10 years of age, and my vet said she probably had a couple of pregnancies at some point. She is spayed now. She is sweet and loving with her people. Very much a cuddler. She is slow to warm up to strangers. She has improved a lot since I have had her. She will sniff a new person, but she doesn't react well if a stranger reaches for her. She doesn't love other dogs while on a leash. Lady is a nervous girl and suffers from PTSD. She needs a calm, low key spot with someone who will be around a lot. Small children would be difficult for her.

Meet Milo!!! This special boy is a 4 1/2 year old, 11 lbs maltipoo. He is the complete package. This sweet boy is good with other dogs both big and small. He is also good with cats. Milo is an active little guy that has the best time running and playing with his foster brothers and sisters. They all have the best time in their fenced in yard. Milo really enjoys playing but he is also all about the most important thing--YOU! Milo loves his foster mom. If she sits down he is right there. If she goes to the kitchen Milo is right behind her to see if he can help. At bed time, you got it, trotting down the hall with you. This great guy would be an excellent companion for a young single person or a great addition to a family with children 6 and older. (to our knowledge he has not been around toddlers and we don't want to set him up for failure.) Milo is so small that he could go everywhere with you that doggies are allowed even in the airplane on vacation! This boy does not want to be left behind. Milo is ready for a late new year celebration when he meets his forever family. Hopefully that will be with you. No PF profile or picturesTofu is a 10 year old Maltese that was recently returned to GCSPCA after being adopted at 2 years old, due to allergies that his former owner could no longer manage. Right now, he is receiving daily eye drops, twice weekly medicated baths, and ear drops for an ear infection. At his age, his eyesight isn’t the best, but he can see well enough to navigate your home and yard. He is also eating prescription food and is doing well with this routine. Tofu is a happy little guy at 8 lbs and after he settles in, he becomes quite playful and seeks attention. He loves to be pet and brushed. He may need to be on a prescription diet for the rest of his life, but don’t let that deter you. Tofu is the perfect dog for someone seeking a quiet lap and couch buddy. He is crate trained, working on house training, and good with other dogs and people. His foster believes cats wouldn’t be a problem either. If you’re looking to provide a loving forever home for a dog in his golden years, please consider Tofu. LOCATION: LINWOOD, NC ADOPTION FEE: $400 www.schnauzersaversrescuers.org MILO is a pure bred MALTESE, 5 yrs old male. He is white and feels like silk. He is UTD on vaccines/rabies and Bordetella, groomed and microchipped. He is neutered and heartworm negative. He’s on heartworm prevention and been dewormed. Milo never meets a stranger, no matter if it’s a dog or person. He adapts well to a new environment rather quickly. This little one is about 13 lbs. And he loves to be the boss, yet not in an aggressive way at all. He likes to talk to you and tell ou stories. Follows you around the house and learns very quickly. First day in his foster home, she moved the gate to enter into another room, turned around and within a minute, Milo moved the gate and followed her. He enjoys going outside in the fenced yard to explore. His foster Mom stays outside with him and he has good recall. He came as a breeder surrender, along with others. These dogs lived outdoors and still learning to go out on command. So Milo would do best being on a consistent schedule or a belly band in the beginning. He does well with other dogs in the home, but does like to take the role of being the leader. Kids should be over 10 as these dogs have never lived with a child of any age.
