Meet Maisy – A Tiny Lovebug Looking for Her Perfect Match! Maisy may be just 7 pounds of pure sweetness, but her heart is bursting with love, and she’s ready to find a forever Valentine! At around 2 years old, this Min Pin-Chihuahua mix is hoping to meet a special someone who will cherish her gentle, devoted nature. Maisy arrived at the shelter in October 2024 before finding her way to our rescue in November, and now, she’s waiting for the greatest gift of all—a loving home. Though she can be a bit shy at first, once she trusts you, she becomes the most loyal, affectionate companion. With time and patience, Maisy’s love is the kind that grows stronger each day. Maisy’s Love Languages: Gentle Affection – She warms up with patience and kindness, blossoming into a snuggly, loving lap dog when she feels safe. Cozy Security – Maisy is crate trained, potty trained, and pee pad trained, plus she walks well on a harness and leash! She’s a quick learner who thrives in a calm, structured home. Small Dog Social Butterfly – She gets along with dogs her size and knows how to hold her own, making her a great little companion for another small pup but she does like her own space, too. Best Fit Home – Maisy will thrive in an adult-only home where she can feel secure and build trust at her own pace. Maisy is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped—ready to start her new life with you! Whether she’s curled up on your lap or trotting happily by your side, she’s sure to fill your heart with love. This Valentine’s season, Maisy isn’t looking for chocolates or roses—just a home filled with patience, warmth, and endless love. Could you be the one she’s been waiting for? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.I found this sweet puppy wandering on a busy street, narrowly avoiding becoming a victim of traffic. After rescuing her, I managed to locate her owner, who had adopted her from the San Diego Humane Society as an 8-week-old puppy. Sadly, the owner, a senior citizen residing in a care facility, admitted she was unable to handle Sierra's boundless energy and felt misled about her breed. When she reached out for help, I couldn't refuse. Now named Sierra, this 5-month-old pup is a whirlwind of happiness and enthusiasm. She adores people and dogs of all sizes and coexists peacefully with our foster cats. Sierra would blossom as a family dog, particularly with older, considerate children. She enjoys walks and car rides and would thrive with consistent puppy training. If you're located in Southern California, San Diego, or nearby areas, have a home with a secure yard, and are looking to adopt Sierra, please fill out our adoption application at www.tlck9rescue.org.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 6, 2025, 12:49 am

Story
Flora is a super friendly, athletic, and smart girl who came to us via a Baja-based rescue that found themselves inundated with 18 puppies at one time! Flora was just 8 weeks old when we got her; she was very shy and very tiny. Since that time she has grown into a wonderful young dog! She is incredibly smart and learns quickly. Flora does great with other dogs and could probably use another dog in her forever home as she loves to play. Flora is easy in the car, loves the beach and the water, and just really enjoys being a dog. Could she be yours?

Story
Meet Rockstar! Rockstar entered San Diego Humane Society-Oceanside as a stray. When he wasn't claimed, we scooped him up on November 19th to become a Frosted Face. Rockstar is around 7 years old and weighs 16 lbs. Rockstar is on an extended Frosted Fling, so he could decompress while we learn what he is like in a home environment. He is really blossoming! His Fling Mom reports: "ROCKSTAR has been on an extended fling for 6 weeks now. He has definitely gained some confidence, his silly side is coming out, and he seems to be relaxing more. He will only continue to blossom! Rockstar is fearful at first, but if you offer an open hand, palm up, he will come up and smell it. Initially he would shake and run away from us if we tried to pet him. Now when Rockstar up on the couch, he will allow slow gentle touch. He still doesn’t trust completely, but makes small improvements everyday! Rockstar LOVES walks! He becomes a real dog, smelling, exploring and exercising. He walks well with my female dog and will follow her lead. He pulls at the start, but is easily corrected to stay pace with us. Rockstar is timid when encountering dogs on walks. But he will go nose to nose with them, allows them to smell him and he will even smell them. He is very polite and quiet. I haven’t heard him bark yet. Rockstar gets very excited and animated for meals. At first, I fed him in a separate room, but now he gets to eat with the pack. Rockstar has learned the doggie door and goes back and forth through it! He likes to sun himself in the morning. Rockstar's family will need to be patient, calm, and gentle. He is still coming out of a fearful place, but everyday the improvement is encouraging. I think he would benefit being with another dog, as he follows mine around the house. In my opinion, food and plenty of walks is what will win Rcckstar's heart. He relaxes so much outside and with a full belly! To give Rockstar the love and security of a forever home, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org
