Meet Vaughn - an introverted extrovert in canine form... this handsome boy is sweet and playful with the reserved disposition that middle age brings. A pup that LOVES his walks, but only half as much as he loves his naps. In the home, Vaughn is a complete gentleman - housebroken, crate trained, and knows all of his basic commands. A little shadow that will happily watch over his family. A tad shy when meeting new people, he warms up quickly. When excited, however, he tends to be a little mouthier than most in his play style. Because of this, we recommend a home with older children or a home with no children at all. Vaughn likes dogs, but can be selective. He has no problem sharing his food with his humans, but can guard his food bowl and treats from other dogs. Because of this, we think he would be best as an only dog or with a family that can manage feeding him separately. As for cats... the Plott Hound in him would love to chase them all up a tree. Kali is a three year old mixed breed. She is very good with people and other dogs. She does take a little bit to get used to people when she first meets them, but once she feels secure, she is a Velcro dog. She is crate trained. She does have to be watched and on a schedule. She is looking for her forever home and would love to have other pets in the home. She definitely needs some training manners. She is positive for Lyme disease, but since she has no symptoms and doesn’t appear to have had any symptoms at any time, there is nothing to do except to be mindful in the future. If she were to get sick, we do have some information that’ll come with her about Lyme disease. If you are wanting to learn more about her, please call her foster mom Denise at 630-439-6541. Kali is the sweetest and would love to snuggle with whoever her new people are and she does sleep in bed with us. She’s crated during the day because she can be mischievous but not destructive. This boy was part of a neglect/ hoarding case. He is very friendly… with everything! He likes people, kids, either dogs…..not sure on cats but we’re sure he would do well. He has a wonderful personality, he does not need to be in charge. He does well with other dogs and is good on a leash. He loved everyone at an adoption event, he does not meet a stranger!! He is a super good boy who is ready to finally find a home of his own. He will need housetraining but we think he does have some training already. He listens well, just needs some work on manners. He does jump when excited so beware smaller kids. He would do well with a yard or plenty of exercise. An active family would be best as he does not like to sit still when around people, he’s just too excited and happy. He is ready to find his own energetic family.
