Dorothy is a two year old dog that is 60% plott hound. She is very excited about the world and has lots of energy for it! She loves going on run/walks, going to the dog park, and playing tug of war. I originally acquired Dorothy when she was 1 at Humane Animal Partners in Wilmington, De as a rescue. Her 60% plott hound was discovered when I conducted a DNA test on her. The reason I am seeking an alternative home for her is because I live in an apartment without any outdoor space. Dorothy is a dog that loves to run and even walking her 3 times a day is not enough for her. She is a super sweet dog but definitely needs an owner with land. She absolutely could be in a home with other dogs and would most likely thrive with having a friend. She does not get along with cats. At the end of a day full of adventure, Dorothy become very affectionate and will curl right up to you in bed. Given enough room to run, she will be your loving and loyal companion at your side.

This friend has just arrived to us on transport from a high-intake shelter partner! When our friends are new to us, we are often unsure of their full background. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and update their bio with more information as we learn. They are pending interactions with animals until they have been cleared by our vet. Maple is a rescue from Georgia. My mother-in-law has had her since she was 1. She is moving out of state and the community does not accept dogs. We have 2 small children and not enough time and attention for her. She is sooo sweet though. Just wants love. She is a barker, but has never been aggressive. We have a big family with 6 kids under 4 and she’s never had an issue. Very low maintenance, she is not high energy at all. House broken, good listener. Can walk off leash but will take off after a deer.

Meet Fable: Fable is a one year old (as of October 2024) plott hound mix (best guess) that weighs 36 pounds. This rootin tootin cowboy litter of 3 (Farley, Farris and Fable) are sure to steal some hearts! These cuties were found abandoned in a rural area and luckily made it to our rescue. Fable is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Fable is a sweet, playful handsome boy that is looking for his very own family! To put it simply, Fable is a big love bug! He just wants to be with his person and that’s what makes him happiest! Fable loves playing with toys and exploring around the dog yard. In the play yard he avoids rough play with the other foster dogs and likes to hang with the easy going ones. Fable has a gentle spirit and lots of love to give! Fable is working on his house training. We would love for Fable to have a home with a fenced in yard for him to run and play freely!
