Henry and Ruby are father and daughter paired dogs. Both are home trained and loving dogs that a good around children. Henry is a very chill dog who love to cuddle and receive pets. Ruby is a bit anxious and yappy, but is equally as loving and very protective of owner. It breaks my heart having to put them up for adoption, however recently caring for both has become overwhelming mentally and financially. For the wellbeing of myself and the dogs I’m look for a good home to take in both dogs together. Adoption will include leftover food bowls, beds, cages, indoor playpen, and fence.

For inquiries email kathyb@compactcaninerescue.org Fee: $300 Location: Chesapeake, VA Things to consider when applying to adopt Rudolph: senior dog will need regular coat maintenance, bathing and brushing, occasional grooming will need work on potty manners gets along with his foster siblings will need a patient home to allow him to acclimate to new surroundings a fenced yard will be a plus for him to explore and get exercise Rudolph is new in rescue. His owner could no longer care for him and surrendered him to the Norfolk Animal Care Center. He was severely matted and full of fleas. He was promptly scooped up by our rescue so he would not have to spend the night in the shelter. PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - GRADY BREED - Pomsky SIZE - About 15 pounds AGE - 2 years GENDER - Male MEDICAL CONCERNS - None known BEHAVIOR CONCERNS - None known SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Grady came to us from a central NC animal shelter recently. He had been found as a stray with a horrible flea infestation. His coat was sparse from scratching and his skin irritated. Now that the fleas are gone, his hair is growing back in and he is a beautiful boy! Not only is he adorable, but he is super sweet and very playful once he becomes familiar with you. We have no idea what his previous home was like, but he seems to be happy to be held and loved, though can be a bit fearful of new people and places, only briefly. Once familiar with you, he loves being right beside his person. Fully grown at just a bit over 10 pounds, he is a perfect size for most homes! Grady is in good health, neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. We are seeking a home with an active adopter for Grady - one who has the ability to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time with him. A home without larger pets and with a fenced, secure yard will give Grady a secure place to run and play. Grady does very well with other small, well behaved dogs. Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of both Grady and meets our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and your family with Grady at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting him and determining that he matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. Check out this handsome pom-chi (Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix) boy!  Roo has lived his life as a ‘Family Pet/Puppy Daddy’ being loved and used to produce litters of cuties, just like himself.  Well, cute as he is, his Daddy days are done and now he is ready to find a loving forever family who will just love him for the sweetheart he is.  Now understand, he is wary around new people until he figures out if he can trust you or not, but once he does, he is a sweetheart.  He needs someone who understands this and who will protect him from stressful situations where he could get into trouble.  He is so easy to love, he just needs a little time and patience. Approximate age/birthdate:  June 1 2014 Weight/size:  12 pounds Housebroken:  YES as long as you do your part and take him out often.  Crate trained:  YES Personality:  sweet, cautious of new people, defensive around larger dogs, devoted once he trusts you Energy level:  medium Fenced yard required?:  Absolutely preferred because he enjoys having a safe place to be outside and explore.  He can NEVER be off-leash in an unfenced area as he still depends on you to keep him safe.  Right now you can’t depend on him to come when called if he is distracted or scared. Does he/she jump fences?  NO Leash walk with manners:  Working on it.  He does better when wearing a harness rather than just a collar.  The harness is also a safer choice and protects his trachea from excessive pressure. Obedience training:  NO Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK      Spayed/neutered:   YES Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES Microchipped:   YES Social with other dogs:  He has always been around other dogs his size, but he can be defensive with larger dogs, and his attitude with them could get him in trouble.  He would love to be an only pet or have a friend closer to his size. Social with cats: NO CATS Good with children:  Toy breed dogs are NOT toys and respectful, calm children ages 10 and up are generally a better fit for them.  Too much noise and activity in his world will be a stressor for him and could result in unacceptable behavior. Adoption donation:  $175 We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible.
