She hasn’t been tested with cats, but she has no aggression or prey drive. While she tends to pull her leash a little bit, she is working on it and making great progress. She is house trained and is not a barker. Shine was found on the street and sent to a city pound. Dorothy is a survivor! This poor pup was found on a logging road, unable to stand. She was rushed to emergency care where we learned that she had a broken pelvis and a shattered leg. Thanks to generous supporters, we were able to amputate her leg, and after lots of rest and love, her pelvis was able to heal naturally on its own. Now Dorothy is healthy and ready for a family of her own. She loves to run and play. She's super affectionate and loves all the snuggles! When she's really relaxed, she's a snoring machine! Her fosters guess that she wouldn't like to be in a home with cats though we haven't tested her with any. She'd be fine as the only dog but could do well with friendly dogs and proper introductions.

While one of my seven siblings found a happy home through fostering, my other siblings and I are still at the city shelter, facing the risk of euthanasia. Each one of us embodies a friendly, funny, and endearing spirit. I'm a social butterfly, adoring people so much. I allow strangers to touch or hug me. I'm a very nice, innocent soul. And I'm an extreme toy lover. If I have a toy I like, I go to the corner alone and play with it quietly without my friends knowing. I grew up in a shelter as a baby, so I have less experience. I still need to learn how to eat snacks. When I go for a walk, my tail goes down in unfamiliar places. I wish I had a family who could teach me the taste of delicious snacks and the joy of walking. He is a very loving and happy dog. I got him as a puppy from someone who was unable to care for him, and thought I would be able to keep him. My current situation just doesn’t allow me to give him everything he needs to have a good life. With proper training and time he will be a wonderful companion to someone. Prior to living with us he was in a home with a lot of bigger dogs. I have attempted to train and work with him inconsistently to remedy some of his negative behaviors. We have made small improvements but still have a long way to go. He is house trained and kennel trained. He loves attention from people, chewing his toys, running around in our small back yard, and getting treats. I have had some experience being walked on a leash and does well. He has been around another small older dog and can be kind of rough when playing with others, be it people or other dogs. Ideally he will be in a home with two adults that can give him lots of time and attention.
