Story
Looking for a fun-loving, playful, toy-squeaking bundle of joy? Look no further than Wonky, our little baby hippo! He’s very dog-friendly, cat-friendly, kid-friendly—just a great all-around dog.Sweet Wonky came to us after his owner's passing, severely matted and had to be shaved down to the skin, so he was butt naked and looked like a baby hippo. Now, he has his hair back and looks more like the adorable Shih Tzu he is.Wonky LOVES any toy that squeaks and will play fetch, though he’s not too keen on bringing the toy back to you.He is crate trained and working on house training. Despite his small size, when Wonky barks, you’d swear you had a hound dog. It’s hilarious to see people’s reactions when they hear that big bark from such a little dog. Luckily, he doesn’t bark in the house or when crated—only outside when he hears other dogs.Wonky is looking for a low to medium energy household but definitely enjoys his outside playtime. If you’re looking for a quirky, lovable companion, Wonky is your guy!Name: WonkyBreed: Shih Tzu/CrossbreedSex: MaleAge: 4 years (estimated)Weight: 19.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: YesGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $500.00 (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently: Texarkana Tx IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.
