Story
Here is Pancake, my lovely grandson. His mother is to the right in the first picture, named Pickles. Pancake was born on 12/6/23 as a singleton. It was one of the funniest days of my life because he came out as a singleton (one puppy), which is not so common. I did an extensive amount of research on how to prevent only-child syndrome, and he was raised in a house with four young children and two other dogs. We have a dog walker who has helped me learn to walk two medium dogs and a stroller simultaneously. Pancake does so well that she has asked if he can be a part of her pack of unleashed dogs that she takes in the woods. He is well-tempered, not a barker, only when necessary unknown guests and late at-night noises. He is still, in fact, a puppy, so there are the occasional shoes or toys that the children leave lying around, but not often. He has been with us since birth, so I know and closely worked on his training. I do expect him to be neutered.

Story
Introducing Walter! He is a Mini or a Moyen Poodle, and he is sooooo handsome!! Walter is looking for a home that will love to spend time with him, walk him, and finish teaching him manners. He knows how to sit and walk on a leash (but tends to pull a little). Walter would enjoy hiking and outside activities during the day and lots of cuddles at night. Walter was dumped as a matted mess. He is very emotionally solid, so we don't feel he was abused, just sadly not wanted anymore.Walter loves to play with other dogs his size or larger. He tends to play too rough with little ones because he just forgets how big he is. Walter is not aggressive at all, just a little too big to play with the tinies at his foster home. Walter likes the resident house cat, but she ignores him, so he ignores her. Walter will do great in a home that enjoys outdoor activities and cuddles on the couch. Another dog is great but not necessary. Walter's previous foster brother was a young lab mix, and they played very well together. Walter is doing great on house training. Not quite rock solid yet, but learning everyday. Walter is crate-trained. He will bark for a few minutes when first put in his crate but then quiets and sleeps all night.Walter is very eager to please his person and is food and affection-driven. Please consider him as your next furbaby. Story
Kieran was born 03/30/2021 on Top Spots Farm in Missouri and later adopted by me in June 2021. He is a purebred standard poodle with a gorgeous black curly coat that is high maintenance. Unfortunately, due to financial hardships I am making the difficult decision to not only close my business but to place my dogs for adoption so they may have a home while I secure another job and stable living arrangement. Kieran is a handsome shoe thief and will sneak away to nibble on your footware if given the opportunity (it means he loves you). He loves to play and run with all dogs. Tennis balls and freeze dried beef liver treats are the objects of his affection. House broken and crate trained, but suffers from separation anxiety. He will need patience adjusting to a new home. His new owner will need experience with high energy large breeds that need a regular professional grooming schedule: He needs regular baths at least every 2 weeks and his coat clipped every 4 weeks.

Story
Dominique is an extremely handsome, very social, black with a touch of white on his chest, male standard poodle born on 3/4/23. He currently weighs about 60 pounds and is a burning, burning hunk of love for sure, so it goes without waying that Dominique loves attention and is ready to bond with his special human. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, received a Proheart 6 shot and is also being kept on flea and tick prevention to maintain his good health. His adoption donation is $700 plus $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Dominique the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Meet River! She is about 11 months old, 52 lbs, and she likely has some boxer and doodle in her mix! River is one of a large unwanted litter. She is housetrained, working on being more comfortable left home alone and does OK on leash walks. We would recommend that she goes to a home with a fenced-in yard as she feels the safest there. She will need a patient person to continue to teach her how to be a great adult dog. She could go to a home with kids 5+ and possibly cats. No apartments, please! She isn't the biggest fan of other dogs and would do likely do best as an only pup, although she has warmed up to her canine foster sister after living with her for a few weeks. She hasn't live with cats since she came into our care however, she would likely do OK with a dog-savvy cat and slow introductions.River has some separation anxiety and will need someone who's home more often than not. We have a group of volunteer certified positive reinforcement trainers that we partner with and they will be able to work with River's new family to help her feel more comfortable when being left home alone. Her foster says, "River is very smart and eager to learn. She's a great listener and settles down when she needs to! She will make a great family dog/adventure friend...the most loyal best friend her lucky adopter(s) will ever have."She is available for adoption in Worcester, MA by appointment with an approved adopter. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.-Dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises.-Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, safety, financial and emotional responsibilities of a dog BEFORE applying to adopt.- More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fees can be found at browndogcoalition.com
