FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Rio! He is a 1-year-old, 52 LB, Pudelpointer who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA. Rio is fun, full of energy, and very playful! He walks well on a leash and does not pull much but is strong if he does decide to pull towards something. He has done amazingly with other dogs in our care and very much enjoys having playtime with his canine friends and would love another playful canine companion in the home. Rio is very sweet, smart, and aims to please his handler which is great for training purposes. He is a working breed dog and will need an active adopter to keep him both physically and mentally stimulated. We are looking for a home for him outside of the city with a securely fenced yard for him to run and play. He can still be a little mouthy when taking treats and excited, so we recommend no kids under 10 years old. He has not been tested with cats or other small animals. Rio is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $600.

Jacqueo is 3 years old male mix of mostly poodle, German shepherd, border collie (and a negligible amount of pit and boxer). Jacqueo is the sweetest dog I have ever met. He is so eager to please and learns so fast- incredibly smart. We adopted him 10/2022 and have done trainers, classes, crate training, doggy day care, dog parks. He knows all basic commands and is housebroken. He has the most energy that anyone has seen. He really needs to live on acres of land- we have a medium-large backyard and it is not big enough. He has separation anxiety- he’s come a long way! He takes medication for it. He must be in a home with an experienced trainer in this with a lot of patience. We did not think we could have kids, but had a baby and his needs are too great for us. This is putting so much added stress on our family and jacqueo. He deserves a home where he is number one. My biggest need is for someone to love him as much as I do.

The big personality of this so dedicated to life & to be adored & loved girl Miss GuiNiu, ended up in a meat market in Mudanjiang & yes you read that correctly. This beautiful girl ended up in a meat market for human consumption after a breeder had used her & then was rescued from there & ended up in another shelter. What we do know is, she was pulled out of there on deaths door with pneumonia so severe it almost took her beautiful precious life. It’s absolutely soul destroying to think about the horrific situation she ended up in. Working with one of our truly devoted, dedicated & absolutely outstanding Chinese rescuers she rescued GuiNiu & many others for us. Without this beloved rescuer going in & getting GuiNiu out, her fate was death alone just from the pneumonia. She transferred GuiNiu to her own rescue & covid had hit & the waiting began. Along with GuiNiu & many other sweet souls she got well & brought back to health which took a very long time as their immunity was so severely compromised from the condition she had been living in & waited to come to the US. This became a very extremely expensive situation with covid. We were finally able to bring everyone back through cargo which is an astronomical expense per dog, but we believe every sweet soul such as GuiNiu & her & friends deserves to be loved & cherished & given the chance to have a wonderful life. Now GuiNiu is looking for a special family to cherish her & be patient with her & remember what this beautiful soul has been through & a family that meets all her needs. GuiNiu was rescued by our truly amazing Chinese rescue friends & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Chinese rescue who we are so extremely grateful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough. GuiNiu was bought back to the USA where she is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. Considering how deathly ill GuiNiu was in China & on deaths door it’s a miracle she survived along with her friends. To the adventurous big personality, oh so fun & bounds of bouncy energy to the girl she is now. Look out world here comes the ready to go on a hike, run, play beautiful spirited GuiNiu. She has enjoyed eating since she has been here in the US, but let’s face it, being fed the way we are feeding her is all new to her & just being fed all the time is new to her. She has put on weight instantly since being in the rescue. GuiNiu is learning to walk on a harness & leash & done so well with us so far but would still need continued work, as she is so excited when going on her walks, she will pull & is quite strong but is really good. She also does not care about dogs or react to them when at the park. GuiNiu adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing her, cleaning her eyes, grooming her, she loves it all. She also does extremely well being touched in general. GuiNiu is so good with being bathed. We have had her with many breeds of dogs & she has done well with different size dogs & adores dogs so we are only looking for a home for her with another dog in the home she can play with. GuiNiu also did so well with our vets when she went & had her dental. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to GuiNiu & we have been excited to change her world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. This little stunning lady has energy galore, bounds of fun loving energy. She is making up for lost time & who could blame her. She is good with other dogs & we have her with other dogs, in her new forever home there must be a young dog or young dogs for her to play with. GuiNiu has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car but we always have her with other dogs when in the car. She is such an amazing soul, she will try to stick her head out of the window if you are on the outside as if to say, “why am I not out there with you, let me out, I want to be with you”. She just sits back & enjoys the journey. With GuiNiu we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lady only. We are also looking for a forever home for GuiNiu where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. GuiNiu is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be very patient with her & understanding. GuiNiu has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & she is currently with other dogs & enjoys their company so we are looking for a home where she can be with another dog or other dogs in the home in the home as she loves playing with dogs. We currently have her with other dogs. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for GuiNiu’s new forever home. GuiNiu is now roughly 40 lbs & has put on quite a bit of weight since coming to the US with us, she is 4 years old & perhaps a standard poodle. She is spayed & female, she had a dental/scale & polish, she is microchipped, up to date on her shots, had her shots including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on GuiNiu with bringing her to the US with her travel airfare costs alone bringing her through cargo was over $3000, without anything else then on top of that paying for her medical care & boarding fees, including a dental/ scale & polish, spay, shots, microchip, etc & then bringing her to WA with her transport fees than her adoption fee comes close to covering. GuiNiu has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have not had her around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when GuiNiu was conceived so we do not know who her parents were or her exact birthday & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & GuiNiu’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is GuiNiu potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting GuiNiu & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. GuiNiu has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.

Animal Profile: Ramen is an estimated 4 year old 15 lb neutered male miniature poodle who was a hot mess when he was pulled from the Carson shelter. He was at risk due to overcrowding but assessed to be friendly with people and dogs. We will share more about him as we get to know him in foster care.    Foster Update: Ramen is a cool little cup of noodles! He has been a quick study in foster care and is crate trained, potty trained, and walks well on leash. He loves to work and train and is very smart. He catches on to new commands quickly. Ramen would do best in an adult only household, as it takes him time to warm up to strangers and he is more trusting of female companions. He has shown a tendency to resource guard when it comes to removing high value toys from his possession, but his trainer is working on tackling that behavior. Ramen is dog friendly, and would be best matched with a similar sized female dog his age. Ramen has had a lot of interest from families wanting a lap dog; he prefers to show affection through play and is not a couch potato. Animal Profile: Walter is an approximately 2 year old, 16 lb male poodle mix who was originally rescued from San Bernardino, CA. He was adopted and returned back to us when his family could no longer care for him.  Foster Update: Walter is a sweet and cuddly boy with big eyes and a playful personality that will melt your heart. He's food motivated, which comes in handy for his training, including leash training. He continues to improve on the leash, although he still pulls a bit when he locks in on a scent or sees another pup. Walter is most vocal when barking at other dogs, especially when he and his foster bump into them rounding a corner on their walks, but his reactivity is improving every day. He is potty and crate trained -- he just gets a little whiny when he first goes in his crate and when he wakes up in the morning. He knows several tricks and commands, including "roll over," "paw," "down," and "sit." He rarely barks in the home, and when he does it's to get your attention so you'll play with him. Walter is quite active and loves his walks. He gets very excited to go out and jumps impressively high, but quickly calms down with the right guidance from his foster. He also loves playing fetch with his toys. But he's also a velcro dog who loves nothing more than being near and cuddling with his human. He's the perfect little sidekick.  While Walter is very affectionate with his foster family, he takes some time to warm up to new people, and he doesn't appreciate strangers trying to pet him. It's important that his forever family can advocate for him when out in public or around new people, as it can be stressful for him to feel like he always has to stand up for his needs. Walter is very smart and may test boundaries within the home or be a bit vocal or mouthy to communicate. It's important that his family can set clear boundaries so he knows what behaviors are and aren't allowed. The more Walter has clear expectations and is advocated for, the more he can thrive. Since he can be mouthy, we are looking for an adult-only home for him.
