Story
Meet Magnificent Maleena!  This super sweet and very active girl is learning all the good things that life has to offer.  She knew her life was turning around the moment she arrived at her foster home.  This poor little girl spent most of the months of her short life living in a crate in the garage with very little food, water, or attention.  She is small for a standard poodle but too big to be a miniature.  Her sad life caused her to weigh only 20 lbs when she was rescued.  You could count every rib and see most of her bones.  The vet says she should be about 40 lbs and is now well on her way to her ideal weight.  Maleena loves people.  As soon as she knows you are nice she is your buddy.  She is also great with other dogs and ok with cats.  Maleena's favorite thing to do is to RUN!!!  She absolutely loves the fenced in field at her foster home and the other dogs that run out there with her.  We think that she would also love structured exercies and that she would be a great companion for an active family who enjoy walking, hiking or running.  She would also do better in a home with older children or an all adult home. Maleena is making great progress with her leash manners and loves to ride in the car.  She is also housebroken to a doggie door so she might need a little help if you do not have one.  Maleena will make a great companion for the right family.  To be considered for her forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Maleena is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)March 31, 2025, 9:24 pm

Blaze Standard Poodle Male Black 8.5 years old 56 lbs Meet Blaze – Your Perfect Balance of Playful & Cuddly! Blaze is an 8.5-year-old sweetheart with the right mix of calm relaxation and playful energy. He’s gentle, affectionate, and always up for a cuddle or a fun game of chase with his favorite humans. While we’re unsure how he feels about cats, Blaze’s loving nature makes us think he’d thrive in a home with kids 10 and up. However, we think he would do best as the only dog in his forever home. Blaze loves going on walks and gets super excited when he sees other dogs. With patience, consistency, and proper guidance he will learn to stay relaxed and walk well on a leash and continue to grow into the best version of himself. After being moved around a few times, Blaze is ready to settle in, bond deeply, and be someone’s loyal companion for life. Please Note: *Must have a FENCED-IN yard!* **No children under 10!** If you are interested in adopting BLAZE please go to our website www.somersetcottagepoodlerescue.org to see our adoption process and download the adoption application BLAZE's adoption donation is $850
