Story
Our Chance is an exceptional boy, who has charmed rescue advocates at every stage of his Rescue journey. He loves everybody, and has not flinched at all during a rescue process that leaves lesser dogs rattled.  We've been trying to piece together Chance's backstory, and here's what we know for sure: He was found as a stray in North Carolina, and animal control officers handled him with ease when they brought him to the county shelter. Chance looked weary and malnourished when he arrived at the rural shelter, but his luck improved when the shelter transferred him to our Connecticut Rescue last year so that we could treat him for parasites and find him a a forever home. Chance appears to be a leggy Treeing Walker Coonhound, and he lives up to their lovable reputation. He is a large dog, at a lean weight of 55 pounds. His short, flat tri-colored coat is largely black and tan, with white markings. He has a million dollar profile! Chance is a very gentle boy and would be a great addition to an active family with older, dog savvy kids. He is friendly and will give everyone in the family equal attention. Chance is not one to play favorites, and he is very stranger friendly.  Chance could also join an active single or couple, who can provide at least one to two leisurely leash walks, so that he can meander and stop to smell the "roses." Scent hounds are extremely easy to manage because the leisurely walk that engages their senses, provides much needed mental and physical exercise. Chance has good house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during his transition to a new home. He has been neutered, and has received routine vaccinations and health screenings. If you are interested in Chance, please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call/text Denise at 860 908 9738 for more info.

She's a sweet soul, always ready to play and interact with those around her. Rosalie is smart and friendly, making her a joy to be around. She has been a loving mom to a litter of pups, showing her nurturing and caring nature. Her intelligence shines through in her quick learning and adaptability.  She is working on house training, crate training, and walking on the leash and think this smart lady will pick up these important skills in no time! Rosalie's playful demeanor makes every day a fun adventure. She's the perfect addition to any family, bringing joy, laughter, and a lot of love. Rosalie deserves a home where she can continue to share her sweetness and love, and in return, she'll be a loyal and loving companion. Adopt Rosalie and let her fill your life with happiness and companionship. Rosalie’s story: Rosalie, mom to the New Moon litter, has a beautiful tale of compassion and rescue.  A foster volunteer at our southern rescue partner, leaving her office, encountered a stray dog, visibly emaciated, yet wearing the proud badge of a nurturing mother.  Following her instincts, the volunteer trailed the canine heroine to a nearby house, where an elderly couple resided. As fate would have it, there lay a precious litter of pups, snug under the home, where Mom had made them a safe nest. Determined to help, the volunteer reached out to additional rescue volunteers and plans unfolded to extend a helping hand. The following morning, the rescue received the green light to welcome this courageous family. With the selfless dedication of the volunteers the rescue’s mission unfolded seamlessly requiring the volunteers to physically crawl through a tiny opening and underneath the house to reach Rosalie’s precious babies and bring her and them to safety. Investigations revealed the homeowners had no knowledge of the little mom’s existence, further solidifying the need for rescue intervention.  Rosalie, along with her precious litter of puppies, is now under the loving care of their rescuer where they have been thriving and getting ready for their next chapter with SOS. Medical Note:  This dog has tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia.  This does not mean that this dog had/has an active infection of ehrlichiosis, only that the dog was exposed or infected in the past.
