Story
Beatrice loves children! Beatrice is a sweet, loving, and smart girl who adores people and other dogs. And she really loves kids! When she sees a kid or kids, she holds very still and waits to be petted and hugged. You have never seen a dog’s eyes light up like Beatrice’s does when she sees a child.  She is really full of love and so social. When she sees a new person or dog, her tail starts thumping, and she’s really happy to meet everyone.  Beatrice just turned three, and we were curious to learn about her breed mix. Here's what we discovered: 66% Treeing Walker Coonhound 10% Plott Hound 4% Redbone Coonhound 3% Bluetick Coonhound 2% American Foxhound You can check out more details about her breed at  Beatrice's Wisdom Panel: https://www.wisdompanel.com/app/s/tw9m23y Beatrice's story is one of resilience. This beautiful brindle girl was abandoned on a road in Arkansas while pregnant, and sadly, her litter didn't survive. After fending for herself, she thought she'd found a home, only to be abandoned again. Thankfully, a local rescue stepped in, and Beatrice made her way to Atlanta, where she's hoping to find her true forever family. What makes Beatrice truly special are her love for children and other dogs, her soulful eyes, her stunning coat, and her eagerness to please. She's a social butterfly who enjoys playtime, and she has a deep desire to bond with a person she can call her own. She's a cuddler, happy to snuggle up and relax next to you, but she's also a true hound who would love to accompany you on outdoor adventures.  Because of her strong hunting instincts, a home with a fenced yard would be ideal to give her space to run while staying safe. Beatrice is potty trained and enjoys walks.  If you're looking for a beautiful, loyal companion to share your life with--whether it's watching TV on the couch or exploring the outdoors, Beatrice Beasley could be the perfect match. She's a special girl, and as her foster mom, I tell her that every day. My biggest hope is that she finds someone who will see just how special she is and give her the loving home she deserves. Could that someone be you? Story
We are looking for an experienced dog owner that will love Walker as much as we do. He is a loving and energetic dog that has been a part of our family for 7 years. He loves outdoors and running around with other dogs or just basking in the sun. Why we are rehoming: Walker bit my husband last week. He has never bitten anyone. Walker was in his crate for bedtime and my husband went to take his collar off when he lunged at him, tearing his shirt and biting his forearm. We are waiting for results from a vet visit to rule out any obvious health challenges. We have young grandchildren and feel he is best suited for someone without small children that has plenty of room to run around and thrive. He has been through 2+ months of obedience training with an experienced retriever and gun dog trainer. He has an e-collar and follows simple commands. Please reach out to discuss more details about his behavior history and past training to see if you are the right fit for our Walker.

Story
Hi, I’m Arthur! I’m a 3 year old beagle, and let me be completely honest…I did not have the best experience with people before I came to Hero. My foster family has been really patient with me, and I’m slowly starting to trust again. I still am not so comfortable with hugs and pets, but I do like hanging out with my peeps and knowing they are around. So I need a family who will work with me, be patient, and help me to fully trust and love, and I’ll become your buddy for life. I am told that I’m a very good boy, and I LOVE other dogs and puppies – although those little yappers do make me nervous until I get used to them. I am a hound, so I really need yard with a fence. And not just any fence will do, as I would be up and over a chain link fence pretty darn fast. I’m gentle, sweet and wouldn’t hurt a flea. I’m just looking for a family who can help me continue coming out of my shell and becoming the bestest pup that I know is in here somewhere. If you’d like to meet me, please fill out an application and let’s meet you soon! Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Story
If you’re looking for a dog who’s always up for action, meet Amy Rose! This Beagle mix is a little over a year old and packed with personality. She was found running alongside a highway in Alabama, proving she’s always been an explorer at heart! Amy Rose is full of energy and needs a home that can keep up with her go-go-go lifestyle. She’s a natural-born detective, thanks to her Beagle side—always sniffing, searching, and investigating every inch of the great outdoors. She gets along great with other high-energy dogs who can match her playful spirit. This smart girl loves learning and is quick to figure out puzzles and new tricks. She’s housetrained, but due to her high energy level, she wouldn’t do well in an apartment or a home with small children. Amy Rose needs an adopter who can channel her enthusiasm and help her become the best version of herself! Amy Rose weighs 27lbs and is approximately 1 years old (est. birth date 01/08/2024). Amy Rose has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. Her adoption fee is $315. If you want more information about Amy Rose, please submit a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Princess Leia is a petite sweetheart with a big heart. She first came to Furkids as a puppy and found a home, but through no fault of her own, she has returned to us in her golden years. Now, she’s looking for a second chance at a forever family. Leia is as lovely as her name suggests—gentle, affectionate, and well-mannered. She’s great with kids and small dogs, making her a wonderful fit for a loving home. Plus, she’s both house-trained and crate-trained, so she’s already got the basics down! We recently learned how much love she has for both car rides and golf carts. We’re still learning more about her personality, but one thing is for sure: she has so much love left to give. Leia currently weighs about 20lbs., is approximately 11 years old (est. birth date 12/27/2013), and her adoption fee is $185. Princess Leia has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Princess Leia, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.
