Story
This sweet little girl is guessed to be a 3 year old Yorkie/Maltese mix. "Dolly" is a shy girl and is unsure about being picked up, as she came to us from a breeder in Oklahoma and had minimal handling there. But once in your arms, she clings to you for reassurance and has never been snappy. Dolly is ready to learn what it feels like to be someone's special companion, living in a warm and loving home. Dolly will need a quiet and patient home, and needs another confident and friendly dog to help her come out of her shell and learn how to "dog". She is good with dogs and cats. She leans on her foster sister Pattycakes, and would love to be adopted with her if someone is looking for a precious pair of pups! Come and meet them in Cheyenne!

Story
If Toto from Wizard of Oz had a long lost great-great-great-great-great grandchild, that would be Bernie. Not only can you see the family resemblance but he's "hollywood handsome", charming, and loves to be carried in a basket. And somehow, a wicked witch also is involved in his story since he was rescued from horrendous animal hoarding conditions in South Texas along with four other yorkie / yorkie-mixes. Still, like any good dog, Bernie has forgotten his past and is looking forward to a bright future of happiness, tail wags, and cookies. By cookies, he means pieces of chicken. Or cheese. Or a hot dog. Just look at his rider for the food requirements that should be left in his dressing room on set. His agent will contact your people, or something like that.  Besides his favorite snacks, Bernie also loves walks, sitting on his human's lap, giving kisses (but only appropriately and with consent - his agent also says he can't have any more scandals with his name appearing in the paper or he risks being blacklisted), and going for car rides. Yes, he does love to go everywhere with his human. And why wouldn't he love to go everywhere? Everyone loves him and he loves everyone -human, dog, cat, child co-stars, papparazzi, etc.  Bernie is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. He will need some regular grooming visits, preferably with the hottest celebrity hairstylst his human can book or alternatively with Petsmart for a quick coat touch up. He also needs a bit of help learning "the script" and by the script, we mean basic dog commands like "sit", "fetch", or "look handsome" because not surprisingly, such training was not available to him in the hoarding home where he previously resided.  While Bernie's new human might need to invest a bit of work to meet all his demands (its not really him, its his agent!), he or she will be very well rewarded with one of the most loving and cute dogs to ever walk the planet with the most charming and humorous personaility. Bernie cracks up his foster family every single day, has so much love and snuggles to give, but most of all reminds us on a daily basis that we are stronger than we can imagine and we can overcome more than we ever thought possible.  ##2303935##

Story
Little Luke is a super sweet boy, who loves nothing more than to play and be with you! He is a bit shy at first but is full of cuddles and love once he gets to know you!!! He does great with other dogs in her foster home, is non reactive around cats, and is doing great with crate training. Since he is just a youngster still, he will need a family with lots of patience and willingness to work with puppy training to help him become the best canine citizen he can be!

Story
** If you are interested in adopting Gibby, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Gibby is an adorable Yorkie / Chihuahua mix. He is 3 years old and 11 lbs of cute, scruffiness. Gibby found himself in an overcrowded, scary, high-kill shelter in Houston, and Farfel's was reached out to to help this sweet guy. He arrived to our rescue in September of 2024 and was adopted. However, Gibby's family adopted a baby recently (we were not made aware of this plan when they adopted Gibby from us) and now Gibby is being returned because he does not do well with younger kids. However Gibby's foster home before he was adopted had teenage kids (12, 14, and 17) and he did great with them! From Gibby's foster: * * * * "Gibby is super sweet and well behaved. He is good with our pre-teens and teens and other dog, and sleeps all night and stays in his crate whenever we have to go out very well. Gibby is the sweetest little cuddle monster. He loves snuggles on the couch or in bed, but can also sleep in his crate all night if you prefer. He is one of the most affectionate dogs we've ever been around. He does most of his potty breaks outside. He loves walks and is very food motivated, which makes it very easy to do training with him. He loves treats and playing games (enrichment activities are his favorite, especially hunting for his food). He is great with our dogs and met my sisters dog and was friendly! He just doesn't do great meeting new dogs while he is out on a leash. He has been great with my dogs and dogs we have had visit the home though. He doesn't like to share his food or treats, so we do feed him separate. He has been very close to my braver cat who was laying still on the floor and he just looked at her. I think he probably would chase if she had run, but I was impressed that he didn't bark or charge her! He is food motivated. He's an adorable, friendly, cuddly, silly little dog!" * * * * Sweet Gibby recently had surgery to remove a trichobezoar—a large hairball that formed in his stomach from excessive licking. To prevent this from happening again, his fosters have been using a Shed Defender, which is a lightweight, breathable onesie that keeps him from licking / ingesting hair. He’ll benefit from wearing this regularly, especially when unattended, and his adopter will receive one to take home with him. We suspect his licking may have been triggered by anxiety after his previous family had a baby, so we’re hopeful that in a stable, loving home, the self-licking will subside. With a little management and a lot of love, Gibby will thrive! We would love to see Gibby in a home with an individual, family (older kids are preferred so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling) or active retirees who have the time and love for a very loyal and sweet dog. We'd hate to see him left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home, as he is much too social for that type of arrangement. We'd like to place Gibby in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young guy whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Gibby has been fully vetted, and he is in great health, up to date on his shots, and neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ . **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
