Story
One song comes to mind as I begin to compose a bio for our boy Simba, and it’s not from the Lion King Soundtrack. Sure he’s adorable and cute with an unmistakable lion’s mane. He’s mighty and in charge much like his namesake. Snuggly and sweet, too. But no, no Lion King soundtrack. The song that plays in my head is actually a Def Leppard song….you know it! The big hair, tight pants, rock stars. And the song you ask? Love Bites. Indeed it does! And so does Simba. Not to worry, you can bet it’s only when you deserve it for doing things like moving in bed while you sleep or continuing to pet him when he’s been over it for approximately .3 nanoseconds. Rest assured, as time goes on, Simba definitely pours the sugar on (see what I did there?) and it’s impossible not to love him more and more each day. He loves fetch, taking walks, and truly enjoys cuddling and snuggling – maybe don’t nuzzle in with your face though….He’s a young man, 6 lbs, 2-3 years old, and he’s ready to be your ride or die. Simba will require some ongoing work with his house and crate training and we recommend a home without children. Simba is being fostered in Arvada, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/simba You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
We’d like to introduce you to Maelani, whose name means heavenly flower. It’s maybe not the most fitting name in the history to dog naming, but it’s what she came with. It would be so wonderful if this 8 lbs scruff could talk to us and tell us what she’s seen. She’s a reserved, independent, somewhat aloof dog. In fact, she’s much like a cat. She seeks attention on her terms, sleeps a lot, not wildly into snuggling though. Maelani tolerates dogs but can be a bit of a “Karen” sometimes with them. We suspect this sweet(ish) older two has been let down time and time again and likely had given up on finding her place in a family. We’d like to show her that we things differently here and help her find her spark once again. Maelani is likely 7-9 years old. She isn’t wanting a home with young kids. She also doesn’t long to be anyone’s lap dog. She’s looking for a patient, soft, kind home that will allow her to bloom when she’s ready. Maelani is a foster in Longmont, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/maelani You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
Please meet Abbie! She’s like a real life stuffie according to her foster mom. Abbie is a happy, bouncy, wiggly girl that’s only 7 lbs and 2 years old. While she enjoys zoomies in the yard with her foster canine siblings and frolicking around chasing grasshoppers, Abbie is a people person….errrr, dog. She’s all about her person. She’s hard at work on her house training but does well with routine and thinks crates are for peasants. She’s just not a fan. When you’re as cute as she is, you get to make all the rules, so, we said we’d try to find her a home where she isn’t alone much. Abbie will enjoy a playful home with a fenced in yard and no shared walls. We aren’t quite sure of her breed. She sheds a bit, but we feel she best matches a Yorkie/Maltese mix. Abbie is in foster in Loveland, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/abbie You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
Abby is a cute little 12 pound, 8 year old Yorkie looking for a loving forever home. Abby loves going for walks, playing with other smaller dogs, napping next to her humans, and enjoys a yard to sniff around in. She's not much of a barker until it's meal time and then she'll be sure to remind you! Abby is doing well with potty training but still has accidents. She loves going for walks and does really well on a leash! Abby would do well in a home with a yard and another small to medium dog preferred. She's tentative with people and while she wants to be close to her humans, she doesn't really like to be touched unless there are treats involved! Abby is in Fort Collins and hoping she can have a family of her own.

Story
Meet Winnie! This little gal has a big underbite and came from a hoarding situation along with Bubbles, Booger, Prissy, and Boo Bear. Our rescue partner says they are all great pups who love to snuggle other dogs! From Winnie's Current Foster: " Winnie Guess who's back!! Winnie has been busy raising puppies, but she is ready to find her forever home. She is a snuggle bug and always loves to be next to you. She hasn't mastered the doggie door, but she is potty trained. Though she is a little timid initially, she will gained courage after a short time with me. She had issues with my steps down to go outside, but after a few weeks, not only was she running down them, but she would go down the steps into the basement. She can jump on my bed but does so at her whim, so not always. Winnie sees herself as a princess, so she demands assistance to get up on the bed. Winnie has been a joy to have around the house for several weeks and will make the perfect companion for any household. From Winnie's previous foster: "This gal is the sweetest girl you'll ever meet; Winnie has made a complete 360 turnaround; when Winnie came into our home, she was timid and quiet; throughout our time together, I have watched her go out of her shell. Winnie loves to sit outside, sunbathe, and have the wind blow through her hair. She especially enjoys long naps and lots of cuddles! Winnie gets along with children of all ages, cats, dogs, and chickens. Winnie would make a great fit in any home. I know she will steal your heart the way she stole mine! I can't wait for you to meet her!" ADOPTION FEE: $300 We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have pups available to meet at our office except during adoption events on Saturdays. Not every dog attends every adoption event. Interested in this pup? The first step is to complete our online application by clicking the "Apply for Adoption" button. Please note that we are only able to finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better as it takes time to review and approve applications. Check our Instagram and/or Facebook page for info on where we will be hosting adoptions this weekend! All Aboard Animal Rescue saves dogs and puppies from high-kill shelters in other states. Story
Meet Prissy! This tiny gal came from a hoarding situation along with Bubbles, Winnie, Booger, and Boo Bear. Our rescue partner says they are all great pups who love to snuggle other dogs! From Prissy's current foster: "Hey there, I'm Prissy - your soon-to-be partner-in-crime and resident goofball of the dog world! Yep, my name might sound all fancy, but don't worry, I'm just as down-to-earth as they come. Picture this: me, lounging in your arms like a furry little monarch, soaking up all the attention and treats I can get my paws on. Oh, the life of luxury! Now, let's talk dining. I'm a bit of a foodie, you see. From filet mignon to the occasional fallen French fry (hey, waste not, want not, am I right?), I've got a taste for the finer things in life. And if I don't get my way? Well, let's just say I've got a bark that could rival a howler monkey. Potty training? It's a work in progress, my friend. I've got the whole peeing outside thing down to a science, but when it comes to number two...let's just say I'm still figuring out the logistics. But hey, who needs a fancy toilet when you've got a plush carpet, am I right? Talk about luxury! At night, I'm a regular party animal - barking at shadows, chasing my tail, you name it. And when I'm all partied out, there's nothing I love more than snuggling up close and dreaming of tomorrow's adventures. So, if you're in the market for a furry friend who's equal parts charm, quirk, and downright hilarity, look no further than yours truly. Swing by and meet me today - I promise to keep you laughing 'til the cows come home!"
