Story
One song comes to mind as I begin to compose a bio for our boy Simba, and it’s not from the Lion King Soundtrack. Sure he’s adorable and cute with an unmistakable lion’s mane. He’s mighty and in charge much like his namesake. Snuggly and sweet, too. But no, no Lion King soundtrack. The song that plays in my head is actually a Def Leppard song….you know it! The big hair, tight pants, rock stars. And the song you ask? Love Bites. Indeed it does! And so does Simba. Not to worry, you can bet it’s only when you deserve it for doing things like moving in bed while you sleep or continuing to pet him when he’s been over it for approximately .3 nanoseconds. Rest assured, as time goes on, Simba definitely pours the sugar on (see what I did there?) and it’s impossible not to love him more and more each day. He loves fetch, taking walks, and truly enjoys cuddling and snuggling – maybe don’t nuzzle in with your face though….He’s a young man, 6 lbs, 2-3 years old, and he’s ready to be your ride or die. Simba will require some ongoing work with his house and crate training and we recommend a home without children. Simba is being fostered in Arvada, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/simba You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
We’d like to introduce you to Maelani, whose name means heavenly flower. It’s maybe not the most fitting name in the history to dog naming, but it’s what she came with. It would be so wonderful if this 8 lbs scruff could talk to us and tell us what she’s seen. She’s a reserved, independent, somewhat aloof dog. In fact, she’s much like a cat. She seeks attention on her terms, sleeps a lot, not wildly into snuggling though. Maelani tolerates dogs but can be a bit of a “Karen” sometimes with them. We suspect this sweet(ish) older two has been let down time and time again and likely had given up on finding her place in a family. We’d like to show her that we things differently here and help her find her spark once again. Maelani is likely 7-9 years old. She isn’t wanting a home with young kids. She also doesn’t long to be anyone’s lap dog. She’s looking for a patient, soft, kind home that will allow her to bloom when she’s ready. Maelani is a foster in Longmont, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/maelani You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
Please meet Abbie! She’s like a real life stuffie according to her foster mom. Abbie is a happy, bouncy, wiggly girl that’s only 7 lbs and 2 years old. While she enjoys zoomies in the yard with her foster canine siblings and frolicking around chasing grasshoppers, Abbie is a people person….errrr, dog. She’s all about her person. She’s hard at work on her house training but does well with routine and thinks crates are for peasants. She’s just not a fan. When you’re as cute as she is, you get to make all the rules, so, we said we’d try to find her a home where she isn’t alone much. Abbie will enjoy a playful home with a fenced in yard and no shared walls. We aren’t quite sure of her breed. She sheds a bit, but we feel she best matches a Yorkie/Maltese mix. Abbie is in foster in Loveland, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/abbie You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
Rusty is a 9(ish) year old adorable little man weighing about 10lbs.  Rusty is a spicy little boy and we could not be more obsessed with him.  He was adopted from us a couple years back and he really ruled the roost in his home.  The couple was older and they just wanted a dog to lay around with them all day and he was not that dog.  He became sassy, and while the wife absolutely loved him, the husband said he had to go.   Since Rusty had absolutely no training while he was with them we decided to board and train him to get his big personality under wraps and to get him the training and exercise he deserved.  Since Rusty did our board and train program we are going to require he goes to a family who will take our training classes so they can learn everything that Rusty has learned. It is 100% free to the adopters which is an amazing deal, for people who want to learn more about dogs and how to help them succeed!  Rusty is an awesome little guy.  He loves to go for walks and he can be very talkative.  He lots to trot around the yard with a big smile on his face.  He is an adorable little oldman and will bring so much joy to his forever family! If you are interested in Rusty, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##1773501##

Story
Honey is a young adult Terrier mix weighing a whopping 6lbs.  Honey was dumped at a shelter with 7 puppies when they were just born.  6/7 puppies survived the terrifying shelter situation and we brought them all to CO to a safe, loving foster family.  Honey's puppies are now ready to find their forever family, and so is Honey.   Honey is a great little dog.  She absolutely loves to zoom around the house with the fosters other dogs and loves to give love and snuggle up.  She love to be with her humans and spend as much time with them as possible.  She is just a super sweet, social, happy, loving dog, despite everything she has gone through.  We promised her, her true forever family is coming and she will never be in a terrifying shelter, trying to protect her babies again.  She deserves so much better, they all deserve so much better. If you are interested in adopting Honey, please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2138096##

Story
Blossom''s engaging and sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated. She is such a wonderful being. We think she represents the best qualities of both the Yorkshire Terrier and Poodle breeds. At just about 3ish years old and 9 lbs, Blossom the perfect size for neighborhood walks, car rides to dog-friendly destinations or fun backyard play. All would speak to Blossom's love of coming along and being with her family. Blossom would love nothing more than to spend a day of play and walks followed by crashing on the couch for belly rubs and snuggles all night long. Blossom is a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier her family is with her behavior, the more she shines with her accomplishments. We would love to see Blossom in a home that includes her in family time and activities. She's very social and engaging (once comfortable in her environment) and would thrive in a family that truly loves her and considers her a very important family member. Blossom would be a wonderful companion for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with an adorable Terrier mix. Blossom's nature is to be a very happy girl who represents the joyful attitude of both theTerrier and Poodle breeds. While she might be initially shy or frightened (rehoming is often very scary), some kind words, a loving hug and a yummy treat and Blossom falls deeply in love. Blossom doesn't require another dog to be happy. She loves her people dearly and if they're attentive and loving, this sweet and loyal girl will be fulfilled and very happy. If a gentle dog is already part of a family, that's great with Blossom as well. She enjoys her time spent in the company of a canine and that dog will ultimately become Blossom's best friend. Blossom will do well with any loving guardian who's invested in spending time with their pup. She's so pleasant and portable that she can be a part of any adventure. It can be a leisurely walk socializing with neighbors, a picnic in the park or a visit with family or friends. A car ride is also always fun..especially if it leads to a wonderful, dog-loving place. At day's end, a spot on the bed all night beside her favorite humans will speak to the loving nature of this little dog. Blossom's Texas rescuer had the following to say about sweet Blossom: Miss Blossom is a one of a kind special girl. She's full of bouncy energy and is as happy as can be once she's comfortable in her environment. This tiny pup has been through so much and therefore can be initially a bit shy.. but who wouldn't be? Through it all, our sweet Blossom has maintained a positive spirit with a great attitude. Whoever adopts Blossom needs to plan on periodic grooming (approximately every 8 - 10 weeks) and excellent nutrition to keep her non-shedding coat super-soft and matte-free. As you can see in her shelter photo (we realize it's absolutely awful and blurry!) and we've requested new photos that will be posted the moment we receive them.) Blossom has been fully vetted, vaccinated and spayed to comply with Farfel's commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs that won't contribute to the population tragedy in the canine population Blossom will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Saturday 8/24/2024. Adoption applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and cuddly best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Blossom, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
