Story
I adopted Chloe when she was 5 years old, 5 years later she still playful but she can be chill. She likes to go on long walks and roll in the grass. In March we could no longer afford our home so Chloe and I started living with my dad. He is not allowed to have dogs in his apartment so I have to rehome her.

Story
She is house trained. She's not really playful, but she does well with people. She loves tummy rubs. She gets along with cats and other dogs. She is low maintenance when it comes to attention as she is independent. She likes being in the same room with you or next to your chair but still keep her own space. She does have environmental allergies.

Story
Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet small shy by seeking fresh start and love! JAX NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:  Jax  Best Guess for Breed: Yorkie and poodle mix Best Guess for Age:   6 years as of August 2024        SEX: Male  Approximate Weight:  5 pounds and 4 ounces   Gets Along With:   Jax does well with other dogs. We have tested Jax with some of the cats at one of our adoption events, and he did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that Jax could live with a cat, he/she has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack! We would be cautious placing Jax in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare shy dogs with their level of energy or noise.  Children would need to be supervised closely to not leave doors open and should never walk the dog without an adult holding the leash.  We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant.   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home   Special adoption considerations:  Jax comes from a commercial breeding operation and has never lived in a home before.  The breeding operation has been shut down, and this adorable pup now has the chance to learn what its like to be a real dog. He hasn't had enough experience with the world and is shy.   When Jax arrived from the shelter, he was pretty reserved in the hustle and bustle of city life.  He has been making great strides in foster care! We think Jax would do best in a home that either has a resident dog or who can make sure Jax has lots of opportunities to go on walks regularly with other dogs or visit dog parks and/or doggie daycare with other dogs to build confidence. We would be cautious placing him in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare shy dogs with their level of energy or noise.  Children would need to be supervised closely to not leave doors open and should never walk the dog without an adult holding the leash.  We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant.   Jax is Looking For:   His forever family! This sweet shy boy wants nothing more than to be safe and loved - and to have his own humans to love. He's looking forward to exploring his new home - his new neighborhood - the world! And doing it all on his own four paws, not toted about in a purse. To get there, he needs extra patient and loving adopters who understands he is very small - he sees the world at our ankle level -and the world is so big, and he needs to feel safe. A welcoming resident dog will show him how it's done too! And yeah, just look at that coat. He'll need daily brushing and regular professional grooming to prevent painful mats from forming.    In exchange, he has so many adoring gazes stockpiled and all the love and loyal companionship in his little heart to offer his new humans. What do you say? Are you the soft landing this sweetie deserves? Is he the one for your lap and your life? What My Foster Says About Me:  Jax has been enjoying life in a home! He likes his crate and loves sleeping on his soft bed. He likes soft food too (see a theme here? He probably didn't get a lot of soft stuff where he was before) as well as jerky. He goes potty outside. Jax has been learning to walk on leash and is getting better at it every day! As he continues to build strength and stamina, he will get to see and do so many things he missed out on in his early years.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament. To learn more about Sweet Thing, reach out to saucers0128@gmail.com Sweet Thing may be small in stature but she's a giant in potential. With her big, soulful eyes and a heart full of curiosity, this tiny treasure is ready to bring joy to a special home! Sweet Thing has a unique charm that comes with some special needs. She is a puppy mill survivor with neurological issues, and is looking for a compassionate adopter who is willing to provide her with the extra care and attention she needs. A calm and patient home where she can move at her own pace will be ideal. A resident dog would be helpful in teaching her how to "dog" in a loving home environment. In her foster home, she is finding her safe spaces, and is starting to follow the resident dogs outside to sniff & potty - it's just a matter of time before she learns the ropes and gains confidence. Due to her balance issues, a secure environment is crucial. Sweet Thing's ideal adopter will be someone with a big heart, patience, and a love for dogs with unique needs. If you have a gentle touch, an understanding of the special care Sweet Thing requires, and a desire to make a positive difference in a deserving dog's life, Sweet Thing could be your perfect match!

Story
Our family has had Bean for seven years since he was six weeks old, but he has gotten older and little more vocal than one would appreciate with a newborn baby! We love him with all of our hearts, however we don’t have the capacity to care for him the way we used to and think he would do better in a new loving family. He’s still a bottle of fun; likes to run around and play! But mostly sleeps all day and polices other peoples fun lol

Story
Meet Guinness! This adorable scruffy puppy was surrendered to us by his owner. Guinness was the result of irresponsible owners who did not spay their pet to protect her from getting pregnant. We don’t know his owner’s intentions, but their inaction led to another litter of unwanted puppies coming into the world. The owner gave four of the puppies away, but we were able to secure Guinness, his sister, Peaches, and their mom, Bunny. Bunny and Peaches have already been adopted and now it’s Guiness’s turn. Guinness is currently living with a foster mom and dad, two teen girls, multiple adult dogs, and cats, where he is getting love, structure, and valuable socialization time. He’s a little guy at only 7 lbs but is on track to be bigger than his mom, Bunny, who weighed 9.5 lbs. We expect him to be 12 to 14 pounds fully grown. He came to his foster home as a ball of energy and needed to learn basic manners but is getting a puppy boot camp in his foster home and showing improvement quickly. He’s calmer now and even taking naps, he's eager for attention and is very wiggly about it. He’s learning he needs to be calm for pets and affection, working on his crate and house training, and getting lots of socialization time with his pack. We’ve already learned that Guinness plays well with other dogs, and while he likes to roughhouse play, he's also respectful when he’s corrected by his pack elders. This sweet boy needs a family ready for puppy mode and some small dog experience is preferred. Guinness would love a social, adult dog to learn from in his new home and he does well as part of a pack. If you have a puppy-friendly schedule and are ready to potty train and teach basic obedience skills to a young, tiny puppy, Apply today! ***Guinness is still too young to be neutered, but having him neutered at the appropriate age will be required as part of her adoption terms***   BREED ESTIMATE: Yorkie Mix GENDER: Male APPROXIMATE WEIGHT:  10 lbs  APPROXIMATE AGE: ~  16 weeks old COAT TYPE: Long Scruffy Coat ADOPTION FEE: $400 OTHER INFO: will be dewormed, brought current on shots and microchipped LOCATION:  Pomfret, MD   FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application. You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted. Every person who fosters is directly responsible for saving the life of a dog, because we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes. If you think you might be interested in becoming a foster and want to learn more, please go to https://foster.worthydog.org and fill out an application. Worthy Dog Rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue that primarily adopts to families in the DC Metro area. August 19, 2024, 12:16 pm

PLEASE READ: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, please apply online at www.catdogfriendrescue.com. Please do NOT call or send inquiries via Adopt A Pet or PetFinder as we are a small rescue and cannot handle a large influx of inquiries and phone calls. You can email us at acatsfriendinc@gmail.com if you have questions, but if you would like to be considered for adoption, you must fill out an application. Please note if you are applying for a kitten under six months of age, you must have another friendly kitty in the home or adopt another kitten. Additionally, unless otherwise indicted that this animal is a purebred, all of our animals are rescues and the "breed" selection is a best guess based on their apperance as we have no way of knowing their specific breeds.  Out of state adoptions (outside Virginia/DC/Maryland) do require three years of excellent past or current veterinary references. We look forward to hearing from you!  Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter and microchip insertion. ##2148339##
