Story
Animal Profile: Bella was found running in traffic in Turlock, but luckily wound up at animal services instead of meeting an untimely demise. She’s dog friendly, and social with people but has little experience on leash. She’s estimated to be 5 years old and weighs 15lbs. She’s exudes that scruffy, sassy terrier charm. Foster Update: With her scruffy fur, short legs, and round body, and endearing underbite, Bella looks like an adorable Terrier + Corgi + Pekinese mix. Bella is a typical terrier type; she’s opinionated and needs someone to let her know it’s not her job to police things. She can be tentative when first meeting new people, but does warm up quickly after proper intros. She needs someone that can advcocate for her space and help others understand that she doesn't necessarily want to be friends with strangers. For that reason, we are not considering homes with young children for her. Bella has made great strides on her leash manners in foster care, this girl is even treadmill trained! She can be reactive if she is allowed to lead the walk. Bella is social with other dogs, but doesn’t appreciate new dogs right up in her face. She’s comfortable providing firm, but fair corrections if a dog steps over the line. She is not a dog that would enjoy the dog park. Bella is currently living with another dog and exists peacefully with him. She would be ok with or without a respectful canine companion in her forever home. Bella is house trained, crate trained, and looking for a home with dog experience. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Turlock Animal Services. Arriving  to Seattle area foster care on 08/25/2024. He will be available for adoption once evaluated in foster care.March 17, 2025, 8:03 pm

Story
Meet Lilianna! She is a 4-year-old, 22 lb, Yorkie Terrier mix who was found as a stray in CA and is currently in a foster home. She is shy and skittish, and it will take some time to win her heart. She can be nervous and does not enjoy long car rides or new places. She is potty trained/house trained. She is a happy dog with lots of energy. She is very smart and playful with other dogs. She would love to have another dog in the home. She could possibly be an only dog but she would need a home where someone is home most of the time. She is extremely smart but has a sense of independence. She's stubborn and will listen when she's ready. She is a high flight risk since she won't come on command. She is quick and will dart out an open door and can be an escape artist. Due to her tendency to run, we are looking for a home for her within a 10-mile radius of the Edmonds area. We are looking for an adult only home for her with no children or grandchildren. She is spayed and microchipped. She's up to date on vaccination, and her fee is $550.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet this cute little guy, Chewy! He is a 3-year-old, 10 LB Yorkshire terrier who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in CA. Chewy is a sweet little fella who loves to be held by his person and go on walks. He can be shy at first, but opens up to be a spunky, fun, and loving boy. Chewy has done well with other dogs and would enjoy having another dog in the home as a canine companion. He would also do fine as an only dog if he had continued socialization. Chewy is a dog who will need regular grooming. Chewy is UTD on vaccinations, microchip, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
Good with other dogs • Food motivated • Tolerates toddlers but is nervous with fast movements Meet Tripoli, a sweet and affectionate little dog who loves to be pampered! She enjoys being brushed and bathed—she might even think of it as a spa day. Above all, she wants to be near her people and would thrive in a quiet home where she can spend her days by your side. Tripoli is spunky, courageous, and a little bit silly. She sleeps in bed with her foster at night and naps happily on the floor or couch during the day. She currently uses potty pads indoors and hasn’t been too eager to venture outside in the snow. While she’s very loving, Tripoli can be nervous around loud noises and fast movements. She paces when she’s anxious and has some separation anxiety—she becomes very distressed when she’s not near her preferred person. A calm, low-key home would be ideal for her, and she may be a great match for a retired couple or someone who is home most of the time. She has tolerated her foster’s toddler but gets nervous if there’s too much sudden movement. When visiting a friend’s house with energetic kids, she became very anxious, so she’ll be happiest in a peaceful environment. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who wants nothing more than to be close to you, Tripoli could be the perfect fit! ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.
