Story
Dorian is looking for his forever home!! Dorian was pulled from the shelter after spending 680 long days - nearly 2 years in LAs shelter system. Despite spending 2 years in an outdoor concrete kennel, with minimal human interaction, he held on to hope and has been the most resilient boy. Most dogs don’t last that long in high kill shelters, but Dorian was a staff favorite. He did well with volunteers who brought him out for play groups and they advocated for him to keep him alive. But still somehow no one wanted to adopt him. We saw a post about him and immediately knew we had to get this boy of that environment and into a foster home. Since then we have all fallen in love! We now understand why he was a staff favorite. He's the silliest Akita Inu mix, and he's as loyal and loving as they come. He is extremely handsome and the sweetest, most easy going guy. Dorian is crate trained, potty trained, and knows several commands. He can be nervous around strangers, but once he knows you, he loves you for life! Dorian is dog friendly, and he is an absolute goofball when he plays. Dorian loves to go for walks (cue the happy hops) and crash for a nap next to his person. He would be fantastic with a person with Akita experience or someone who understands/has researched the breed. Dorian is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and currently on flea tick and heartworm medication. Overall. he's in good health, and we believe he is around 6-7 years old and weighs 80 lbs. We recently did his DNA test with Embark, and he is an Akita Inu, American Akita, Pittie mix. If you’d like to see videos of Dorian you can visit the instagram page @fenwayfluff and see the story highlight called “Dorian”. He is currently being fostered in San DiegO

Story
Simba has spent too long waiting for his forever family. 💔 This strong and spirited Akita-Husky mix is full of energy, loves his toys, and is happiest on long walks or playing with his human. He’s sweet, loyal, and ready for the right home. If you’re looking for a dog with personality and heart, Simba is waiting to meet you! 🐕 Adopt Simba: https://form.jotform.com/221926016430144 Full profile: Simba is a 6-8-year-old Akita-Husky mix with the personality of an Akita and the heart of a lion. He’s playful, sweet, and full of energy but needs a confident and strong adopter who understands his needs. 💪 Strength & Training: Simba is powerful and can pull when excited, so he needs someone physically capable of managing his strength. He’s learning commands like sit, down, paw, and “potty” and thrives with structure. A harness might help with his pulling. 🐾 Energy & Personality: Simba is not always a couch potato! He loves long walks (2+ miles is no problem), playing with his toys, and getting plenty of attention. He’s affectionate and cuddly but always ready for adventure. 🏡 Home Needs: Simba would do best in a home without small children due to his strength and energy. He’s good with other dogs, especially more timid ones, but does best with boundaries around toys and space. He’s also quite the counter-surfer, so keeping things out of reach is key! 🐕 Health: Simba has a thyroid condition that is managed with treatment, giving him renewed energy and playfulness. Simba has had a lot of love and care from his foster, but he’s ready to find his forever home. If you’re looking for a strong, loyal, and playful companion, Simba could be your perfect match. 💙 Ready to meet Simba? Apply to adopt him and give this big-hearted boy the home he deserves. 📌 Share to help Simba find his forever home Currently being cared in Southern California, but can be transported up to northern states, such as Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and anywhere within the US continental, if a great suitable family is willing to adopt him.

Nala is a purebred akita. She has been rehomed now 4 times now so i’m trying to find her a forever home. She’s very sweet and has tons of energy. Would prefer her to move into a home with a backyard, but has been an apartment dog so if needed. She may do better either being an only dog or in a home with a younger dog than her. She comes with a crate, her bowl, some toys, and her leash.

Story
*This is a courtesy listing.* Meet CeeCee! CeeCee is a 14-year-old Akita that needs a loving new home because both of her owners passed away. Their neighbor and good friend has been taking care of Cee Cee and the house for the past two years while the estate settles. It is finally on the verge of being settled, and Cee Cee's caregiver is becoming increasing worried about being able to place her. Might you be willing to give this sweet, gentle girl a home for her golden years? What we know about Cee Cee: * Very calm when meeting people * Good with children - friendly and accepting of pets * House-trained; accustomed to having access to yard through doggie door * Enjoys walks around the neighborhood - watch videos to see how nicely she walks on leash! * Well-behaved when in her home alone * Accepts food and treats gently * Likes being brushed Cee Cee's caregiver shares: "She is very playful like a puppy, especially when I grab the leash. She is the best walker ever! Our walks go from 1/2 mile to 1 1/2 miles, and she could go further. I wish my dogs walked like her!" To meet beautiful Cee Cee or to learn more about her, please email Barry at: SoCal57@yahoo.com *Frosted Faces Foundation has not assessed this dog medically or behaviorally.*

Story
Husky mix Neutered Male 5 years old 67 pounds Roscoe is a beloved 5 year old male husky mix. He belonged to my father in a pack of 5 huskies. My father passed away on 8/8/23 and I’ve been keeping his huskies for him. I have adopted out four of the huskies, with Roscoe being the last of the group. He’s been living with me since my father’s passing. With a heavy heart, I know it’s time to move Roscoe on to a family that can care for him the way that he deserves. Roscoe is a blend of malamute calmness and the infamous husky energy. He’s a workhorse, we like to walk him with a backpack on so he can fulfill his desire to work every day. He’s a friendly dog who likes to jump on people. He is a good sport for baths and I’m able to bathe him weekly. He’s very quiet. I’ve never heard him bark and have only seen him howl when my other husky starts a howl. Roscoe is non-confrontational with other dogs and is not dominant at all. He occasionally gets into arguments with my other husky but will always try to diffuse the situation. He likes to chill on the coach when we aren’t out walking. He’s not formally trained but he hasn’t had any accidents indoors and he knows his ‘sit’ command. He also learns very quickly, I taught him ‘go crate’ in a matter of days and he always listens to it now. He loves to be in his crate as well and will relax in it even if the door is open. He respects the baby gates I keep in the house since I have to protect my cat from the two huskies. He has so much love to give to someone who is up for training a loyal, friendly and gentle giant of 67 pounds and endless ounces of love to give. If you are interested in adopting Roscoe, please contact Amber @siamjetlove@gmail.com *PLEASE NOTE: This animal is listed as a courtesy for another organization or private party. This pet has not been evaluated medically or behaviorally by Rancho Coastal Humane Society and is not in our care. Please be sure to contact the foster/caretaker listed in the post for more information. Courtesy Listings are private adoptions and not processed through Rancho Coastal Humane Society.
