Story
Name: LaylaBreed: Pitbull mixAge: 4 years oldDogs: NoCats: NoKids: NoI'm Layla! Let me tell you a little bit about myself:At 4 years young I have plenty of zest for life! I love spending time with my people, whether it be getting some cuddles and butt scratches, going for car rides, getting my zoomies out in our expen, playing with the hose; I love water, or my absolute favorite thing, going on walks, I'm not hard to please! I prefer an introverted lifestyle, minimal foot traffic at home and low-key quality time with my humans, I'm not big on crowds or large social events. Don't get me wrong, I love to have fun and have quite a goofy personality around my people. I tend to have a small circle of friends as I am a bit apprehensive and unsure of new people, so I do take a little time to warm up to new friends, but my peeps at MHS say I'm doing quite well, I'm quite the cuddle-bug when I am comfortable! Sadly it's difficult for me to keep up with my house-training in a shelter environment so I'll need someone who has the patience and time to help me acclimate once in my forever home. I really would prefer to be the only animal in my new home, because I prefer a quiet environment where I can enjoy my people and get all the attention. I am spayed, micro-chipped, and UTD on my vaccinations. My friends at MHS are loving on me while I hang out at the shelter, but I'm really getting bummed seeing so many of my friends going off to their forever homes, while I sit and wait patiently wondering when my turn will be. If you are interested in meeting me and think you can give me the time, unconditional love, and home I need, please fill out an application today! https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=meridenhumanesociety&method=online_form_html&formid=27

Story
Name: LadyBreed: Hound MixAge: 3 years oldCats: NoDogs: NoKids: NoOur lovely Lady is searching for her forever home! At an estimated 3 years old, this sweet girl hasn’t had the best start in life. Lady was found roaming by a local animal control and sat waiting for her person to come for her but sadly, they never did. Lady was apprehensive to human touch at first but has made huge strides in learning to trust humans and that affection is okay. Sometimes a bit too much as she likes to be real close and in the laps of the people she loves the most! While she has come a long way in her time with us, Lady is still working on some trust issues with new humans and will require a special person who is willing to put the time and effort into coming and working build a bond with her.More about Lady, she loves her walks and quiet time in our expen away from the other pups. She’s also quite the fan of chasing down tennis balls, and loves her true chew treats! No other animals for Lady, as she has high prey drive. No kids as she prefers an adult only home. Lady is microchipped, utd on her vaccinations, and is spayed. If you think you can give Lady the forever home she longs for, please apply today!

Story
Meet our handsome and mellow guy named Rocky! Rocky is about 6 years old, and he is a loving and loyal dog! He was surrendered to our shelter after his owners realized they could no longer care for him. Unfortunately, Rocky has spent most of the last year or so living in a hotel room. For much of this time, he was put in a crate, not able to get any real exercise or stretch his legs. Rocky is a friendly guy who enjoys being pet. He is a calm dog who will just mosey around our backyard looking for a shady place to lie down. He is food motivated and knows how to sit. Rocky would love a family to adopt him who will give him some real tender love and care! Rocky is good with other dogs and he is good with cats as well. He can go to a home with children 10 years old and older. If you are interested in adopting Rocky, Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application! His adoption fee is $75.00. Story
Meet our super happy and playful girl named Lexi! Lexi was surrendered to us after her owner could no longer care for her. She is about 9 months old and she has spent the majority of her life living out of a car. Lexi is a very friendly and outgoing girl. We are told she is crate trained. Lexi is very treat motivated and she will sit/give paw very politely for a treat. She is a very short and stocky girl who weighs about 36 lbs right now. Lexi is still a puppy and she has lots of fun puppy energy. She would love to go to a home with an active family who can keep her entertained. Lexi loves all people and she did very well at our vet office. Lexi is good with other dogs, but she would probably be too much for an older dog. Lexi can go to a home with children 10 years old and older. If you are interested in adopting Lexi, Please Email us at Adopt@savingpawsct.org for an application! Her adoption fee is $75.00. Story
Meet Adam the happiest lil hippo ❤️ this boy will melt your heart!! Adam was dumped with his friend Eve, along with her 9- one day old puppies out on a country backroad early one morning. Thankfully a a nice gentleman had moved them from the side of the road to his barn so no bad person would get them until we were able to get there and bring them into rescue. Adam’s friend Eve and her pups were adopted, sadly Adam has been waiting for over a year for his own happy ending and we can’t figure out why... he is the absolute sweetest silliest boy! He is just a big hunk of love. He loves getting pets and giving the best, biggest, slobbery kisses. He loves making new friends and has never shown any sign of aggression whatsoever. He knows basic commands.. sit, shake, and roll over. Somebody spent a lot of time will Adam at one point in his life. He’s a very handsome & sweet fella. He will definitely make you fall in love with him. Adam LOVES kids, even more than he likes napping in the sun. He is great with every dog he meets and is good with cats. (He’s kinda scared of them honestly) He does have a skin allergy & breaks out from time to time (allergy meds clear that up for him) Adam hope you see how amazing he is, he can’t wait to be your best fur friend Adam is hw ( heartworm) negative, fully vetted, spayed/neutered and microchipped. Meet Haley, she is the absolute sweetest gal. With the biggest heart! Haley is a petite girl with a big personality.. she’s always so happy and loves attention. When she’s happy she does a tippy toe dance and wants you to rub her belly. She loves to curl into you and fall asleep. Haley is a mazing, this angel survived parvo when she was 7 weeks old, she has simply blossomed since then. She is healthy, active, silly, loving- she’s just about perfect. Haley will be your best fur friend, she will follow you everywhere you go and stare at you with her puppy eyes begging to be held. Haley loves to play and will collect all the squeaky toys in her crate so she can sleep with them. Haley’s foster adores her and how full of joy she always is, she’s just the sweetest silliest girl. This gal was the runt of her litter so she will be on the smaller size. Story
Update: Bingo is thriving in his foster home (in CT)! This happy, playful pup adores his canine foster sibling and has a special fondness for children. He would be overjoyed to have a family of his own. Bingo is full of love and is ready to share - he could be the perfect addition to your family! Reach out to learn more! Meet Bingo! 🎉🐾 a 9-month-old Labrador/Pit Bull mix with a heart full of love and a playful spirit! This sweet and social pup adores people, gets along great with other dogs, and is fantastic with children. Whether he’s playing fetch, going belly up for belly rubs, or snuggling up for a cuddle, Bingo is always ready to bring joy to your day. He loves his walks and is always up for an adventure! Bingo is housebroken, crate trained, fully vetted, and ready to find a forever home of his own. Smart and motivated, he thrives on attention, toys, and learning new things. Currently in foster care, Bingo can’t wait to meet his perfect family. If you’re looking for a loving, fun, and affectionate companion, Bingo is your boy! Could you be the one to give Bingo his happily ever after? Reach out today to meet him! 🐶💙 Original plea: We're LOVE-struck! Bingo (M, 53 lbs potential LabXpit) is only 9m old and already has quite a story. His original owner bought him from a breeder even though his live-in girlfriend said she didn't want a dog. He put time and training into Bingo but his relationship struggled. Bingo's owner ended up moving out and said he would come daily to care for Bingo until he found a place for them which he was doing but when he couldn't she would not feed or walk Bingo. She called the shelter and told them that if they didn't accept Bingo she would just leave him in his crate to starve, as she had been doing and she meant it (heartless). Bingo came in underweight and heartbroken, having lost the only Dad (she doesn't get to be recognized as anything but a villain) he had ever known but he kept his spirits up which landed him straight into adoptions, where he was scooped up. One would think happy ending but not just yet. His adopter returned him in just a couple of days because her cat was afraid of him even though he had not done anything, except be a dog in a home with a cat that had never met a dog. Who knows, they may have become the best of friends but he was never given the chance. He's back at the shelter now💔 We met Bingo today, though his head hung low, he wagged his tail and when we came over to him, he gave us the most gentle, sweetest puppy kisses. We couldn't help but take him out for a walk and some play! He is so sweet, social, smart, playful, a mush, a kissy face, wiggle butt, mush! Though he pulled a little on the leash, he checked in regularly with us, was food motivated, knew some basic commands, passed dogs politely, and even went back into his cage (his clean cage) without a complaint, just one last kiss to show his gratitude. Please help us save Bingo, reach out learn more! He's located at a shelter nearby CT, will come fully vetted and we will help transport!

These pups are in Meriden, Connecticut too!
