STAR is a foster-based rescue. All our rescue animals stay in foster homes until adoption. We do not have a central facility. If you want to meet any of our adoptables please submit an application. Meet Jerry (aka Boba, the Sneaky Snuggler) Jerry’s official name might be Boba, but around here, he’s known as Jerry. Why the name change, you ask? Well, his foster sister’s nickname is Bobo, and we didn’t want any confusion—because, let’s face it, Jerry has enough personality for two dogs already! Jerry is a lovable Pit Bull mix with a zest for life and a particular set of quirky habits. For starters, he absolutely loves a good game of tug of war. If there’s a rope, he’s ready to go. But his true passion lies in his stuffies. Jerry has made it his life’s mission to free every stuffed toy of its inner fluff. It’s like he’s on a secret mission to unstuff the world, one toy at a time. Despite his fierce determination in toy battles, Jerry has a soft side. He’s a bit of a scaredy-cat when it comes to sudden noises or new situations. But give him a few minutes, and he’ll be your best friend, showering you with affection and wagging his tail like there’s no tomorrow. Kids, adults, other dogs—Jerry loves them all! When it comes to bedtime, Jerry transforms into a professional snuggler. He’s mastered the art of finding the coziest spot and can sleep through pretty much anything. His snores are the soundtrack to a peaceful night. Bones are another one of Jerry’s great loves. Give him a bone, and he’ll be occupied for hours, happily gnawing away. But beware of your shoes! Jerry has a sneaky habit of stealing them and hiding them in the most unexpected places. It’s his little game of hide and seek, and he’s winning. So, if you’re looking for a dog with a big heart, a quirky personality, and a knack for keeping life interesting, Jerry is your guy. He might take your shoes, but he’ll also take your heart. All STAR animals come vetted, Up to Date (UTD) on age appropriate shots and testing, spay and neutered (if of age,) and microchipped. AGE DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, most of the orphaned animals that come into our rescue looking for homes don’t bring birth certificates. Sometimes we know our pets’ ages. Sometimes we don’t. So we make our best guess based on the condition of their teeth and the veterinarians best guess. BREED DISCLAIMER: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label . Microchips: For the safety of our dogs and peace of mind of our fosters and adopters, STAR microchips all dogs prior to adoption with Petlink Microchips. Please understand that all dogs MUST still wear a collar with ID tags (which include your current information) AT ALL TIMES. Please remember, our foster dogs are extremely important to us-- we will always take any of our dogs back, if for any reason you can't keep your adopted dog. Never surrender him/her to a shelter!
