Story
Hope is being fostered in LA. Hope is a sweet and happy girl. She does have some vision loss. Hope is fit, healthy and a very loyal pup full of energy and love. She is ready to fill your days with adventure and nights with cuddling. Hope is looking for a daytime exercise partner with whom she can run, play with toys, engage in games of catch, tug of war and sometimes long silly leaps just for fun. In the evening a snuggle buddy is in order so she can cuddle close with her head on the lap of her human. Hope is very loyal and loving to her person. This sweetheart is well behaved and very likeable. She does well on a leash and is really great about going to her kennel when asked. Hope enjoys meeting new people and they, her. She is so adored at the vets office that they treat her like the “Belle of the Ball” giving her all kinds of special attention and loving. Hope, with all her positive qualities is still a youngster and often doesn’t know her own strength, so she can sometimes play rough. Slow introductions would be best. She plays well with most dogs, but prefers unassertive canine friends and would do well in a home without small children or cats. (Transports within 18 hours travel time are available to approved adopter.) BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Sammi is a 3 year old fun loving pittie mix. With 1.5-2 hrs of exercise/mental enrichment/play a day she'll snuggle right up with you. She loves doggie friends, especially the carefree playful types. She's also pretty good at matching energy with more laid-back dogs. Sammi is always up for activities. She loves trick training and is very food motivated. Obstacle courses are super fun; jumping, perching, crawling, and weaving. Flirt pole is her favorite. Sammi has had a significant amount of training and would do best with an experienced dog person who is willing and able to maintain. One ongoing focus is meeting new people, specifically men. She also struggles moderately with being alone for an entire workday and can be destructive. She would do best with someone who works from home, able to provide her a midday break, and/or doggy daycare. Her current trainer is willing to offer support during meeting, transition, and beyond. Sammi is spayed and current on all vaccines.

Story
Julien is an absolute dreamboat! Not only is he a slam-dunk in the looks department, he's mastered the "puppy eyes"; and just sucks you in with one look. Julien is sweet as can be, just melting in your hands and showering you with kisses. This kid is a master snuggler, and his tail never stops wagging. Although Julien does totally fine with other dogs when a barrier such as a fence or kennel door is involved, he would prefer not to share your attention and be the only dog in his forever home. Julien came to us with many scars on his face and legs, so we're assuming he may have been attacked in the past and understandably feels a bit nervous around other dogs. Julien has spent some time in our staff offices, as he's a favorite around the shelter. He loves to help with office duties and make sure everyone stays on task. After a few minutes of exploring, Julien settles in and lays on his bed all stretched relaxing. Julien is one fantastic pup, that's for sure! All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines. Story
Fiyero is a sweet and charming male pit bull on a quest to find his forever home. With his adorable face and loving personality, he is sure to steal your heart the moment you meet him! Fiyero is full of energy and loves to play, especially fetch. Whether he's running around having fun or cuddling up with his favorite humans for quiet moments, he’s always eager to show affection. His playful spirit and gentle demeanor make him the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal friend. While Fiyero is an all-around loving dog, he does need slow introductions to other animals. Unfortunately, he hasn't always had the patience and time he deserves in previous environments, and because of that, he may need a bit of extra care when meeting other pets. With proper introductions and patience, Fiyero may flourish and build positive relationships with other animals. He loves being the center of attention and will be your most devoted companion, offering unconditional love and joy. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful dog with a heart of gold, Fiyero may just be the perfect fit for you! Come meet him today and let him show you just how wonderful life can be with him by your side. All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Once upon a time, there was a sweet PitBull puppy. She must have had a home, because she knew how to manage stairs, walk nicely on a leash, and that her business gets done outside; and more than anything, she loved people. One day, she found herself outside with her human not around. Days turned into weeks, into months, and nobody gave her any food. She became very very thin (such that her vertebra poked out of her back) except for her belly, because it was full of puppies! Being alone, pregnant, weak, and scared, she learned she had to protect herself, her food, and any possessions from other mean dogs. Shortly before the puppies were born some humans got her into rescue and then a foster home. Most of the puppies didn't survive, but for the last two months she was able to raise the last puppy in a home where she got lots of food, love, attention, and some training. Now she just needs you to complete her story! The foster mom reports that Stashy is an absolute love sponge! She wants to be near you and in your lap and in your face (but we're working on that one). A low energy couch potato, except for zoomies outside, she needs of a lot of reassurance and clear boundaries but listens very well. She has no aggression towards people, but is very fearful in interactions with other dogs. She would like to be friends with them, but if she feels threatened will respond aggressively. If she had a housemate, it would have to be a very laid back, neutral aura dog. She would make a nice dog for a family with kids 6 and older, preferably one that has lots of attention to give her and lets her sleep touching you at night, maybe even under the covers of the bed! All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough. Story
Bindi is a sweet, playful, and loving puppy who may have had a unique start to life, but she doesn't let anything hold her back! After being transferred from Winnebago County following an injury, Bindi has become a tripod, but this hasn't slowed her down one bit. Full of energy and joy, she’s ready to share her heart with her forever family. While Bindi is still learning the ropes of life, she is a true puppy at heart—wild, clumsy, and full of love. She loves to play, but she’s still working on understanding when older dogs aren’t in the mood for playtime. She would thrive in a home with a dog who enjoys playtime, as it would help boost her confidence. A dog buddy who is open to play would be an ideal match for her! Bindi is crate-trained and is still perfecting her potty training, which may have been impacted by her recent surgery. She’s making progress, and with patience and love, she’ll continue to improve. Though Bindi is a big chewer, she sticks to her bones, bully sticks, and Greenies—not household items—so she’s easy to keep entertained and content. She does enjoy a playful nibble but she understands when you say “No, ouch, and no bites.” Despite her wild side, Bindi is the ultimate snuggler! She loves sleeping in the bed, especially with her favorite human, a 5-year-old boy. There's nothing she loves more than being close to her family and soaking up all the love and human touch she can get. Her eyes are incredibly expressive—those little "human eyes" make it clear exactly how she’s feeling, and it’s easy to get attached to her sweet face and personality. Bindi's spirited and affectionate nature shines through, proving that no challenge is too big when you have a heart full of love. She is looking for a forever home where she can be treated with the love, care, and attention she deserves. Whether you're up for an adventure or just lounging on the couch, Bindi will be by your side, ready to share all of her joy and affection. If you're looking for a resilient, loving girl who can bring endless joy into your life, Bindi may just be the perfect fit for your family. Come meet her today, and let her show you the incredible bond you can share with this sweet girl! All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough.
