Story
URGENT TEMPORARY FOSTER needed for this Saturday 6/22-6/28!   Dotty is a beautiful, well mannered and affectionate 45 lbs young lady, who has recently been spayed. Guessimated at 6 years, she enjoys a long walk and short sniff breaks in equal measure. Very responsive to directions, she does well on a loose leash and responds instantly even though she rather chase the critter. Her moderate energy is well suited for a house with folks working from home or those that require them to be away for a few hours. She likes to keep you in the line of sight and follows you around, but will gladly find her way to her doggy bed or favorite spot in the yard, once you settle down. Dotty tested okay with Cats but best in a home as an only dog. Children 13+ okay. Dotty is crate trained and soft spoken, and will sneak up into your heart with a nose boop or paw lift when you least expect it! Please contact Diana at (510) 333-4420 or theperfectdogrescue@gmail.com or fill out the adoption application:  http://www.theperfectdog.org/TPDadoptapp.doc August 5, 2024, 1:25 pm

Story
Jenna is about a year old, we adopted her from the Silicon Valley Humane Society in Milpitas. She is super, super sweet and a lot of fun to throw the frisbee with. She needs walks & ball chasing sessions to be really happy, but if we skip a day she doesn't kill us for it. Jenna exhibits the characteristics of an Australian cattle dog. It is so much fun to watch her use her "herding ball" at the park (she won't stop moving it around until you take it away from her). Jenna is a whip-smart dog that could be trained to do an awful lot of things. The downside of this is that she is acutely awre of what's being played on the television. I really can't watch sports with her in the same room, because the ball makes her too hyper. There is no doubt you will fall in love with her when you meet her.

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Mutts, Meows and Matchmaking on Sunday, Aug. 18th from 9:30-12:30pm in San Mateo at the pedestrian zone on B street where the blue mural is located.   Adoption Fee: $650 Sprinkles is a 4 month old Australian Cattle Dog x Basenji mix who is ready to shower the world in puppy kisses and love! She currently weighs about 13lbs. YES, SHE IS TINY! We expect she will be in the 20-25lbs range when full grown. Don't be deceived by those pictures that make her look much bigger. You have to come see her in person! We rescued Sprinkles from the shelter after she was left there for reasons unknown, but what we do know is how absolutely amazing and gorgeous she is. She won us over instantly with her puppy dog eyes and her personality and we scooped her up and welcomed her into our rescue! We expect this gal to be a medium size when she reaches her adult weight. She has fabulous pointy ears and a gorgeous coat, making her irresistible as she prances around the world. If you are ready for a new best friend to take on the world with, meet Sprinkles!      Sprinkles is “one of the best puppies I’ve ever fostered” according to her foster mom, which is a huge compliment from a long-time puppy foster. She is fantastically well-rounded with lots of energy and flawless temperament. She would be a perfect partner for a long hike, a day on the lake, or a trip to the Farmer’s Market. Looking to unwind after a long day? Sprinkles is a total cuddle bug who will happily relax on the couch as she soaks up all the snuggles and belly rubs you have to offer her. Sprinkles is a total Princess who makes every blanket and pillow her throne. If you let her on your bed, she will settle in like the Queen she is. She would love an overflowing toy box of plushies and squeaky toys in her forever home. Like any cattle dog, Sprinkles is endlessly loyal and wants to be wherever her people are. She promises that with her in your life, you will never need to go through a doorway alone ever again!  Sprinkles sleeps through the night in her crate and wakes up around 8 AM. She gets some morning playtime followed by breakfast and a nap. Then, she cycles through playing, napping, cuddling like any good puppy! She eats lunch at 1 PM and has her evening meal at 5 PM. Throughout the day, she plays with her toys and occasionally works on her training in short bursts, to keep her attention focused. In the evening, Sprinkles settles on the couch after dinner for some more cuddles and kisses. After some more playtime, she goes out for one last potty trip before she goes into her crate for the night around 10 PM.  Sprinkles gets along very well with dogs of all ages. She loves people and greets every stranger with kisses and a wagging tail. She is just as sweet as can be. Sprinkles loves exploring her yard and will keep all the critters away in return for a nibble in the garden. She is food motivated and very smart, already picking up on basic training. She will be the star of any training class! Sprinkles is working on her potty training and crate training. If you’re ready for the cutest bundle of puppy love, adopt Sprinkles today!    Sprinkles is only an option for homes who have owned a dog of their own in the last five years. Kids in the home should be over the age of 9. August 19, 2024, 11:40 pm
