Story
Sage is the best of 2 herding breeds. Kelpie and Border Collie. He has the best traits from both of his parents. He is very very intelligent, has a great temperament and is focused on his handler. He learned basic commands in 3 days hands down. He wants to work, so if you have livestock to round up -this is your boy! We think he is capable of working stock without too much guidance using his instincts, but as a livestock handler you always need to be there to guide him and let him know what you want. So great natural ability to read stock. He is currently on a ranch now with cattle and horses. Lots of energy , he is a people pleasing dog!!!! If you just want a family dog he can go that way too. He will be happy to herd dragon flys in the back yard, and Im sure lizards lol. Great temperament, very playful.. He requires an active lifestyle AND mental stimulation. Medium sized, neutered and utd on all vax, dewormed. We are seeking either a working home or an active family situation for him. Either way you would not be disappointed in this handsome lad. crate trained, clean boy, well mannered, good with other dogs. Currently fostered in groveland Fl area. Apps can be found at ewenityfarmsbch.com.

Story
This little lady is 41 pounds and may be only 1-1/2 years old, but she is so chill and eager to please. Margo has basic commands but is not great with stay. Heeler tendency! She sees everything! She can walk well and is fairly good at heeling. We are working on focus! I use the command "eyes" so she will look back and connect to me while walking. Margo is loving, smart and beautiful. Her pictures don’t do her justice. My neighbors have a 5 year old neighbor boy who has his sister text me to bring Margo out for a hug! Margo will make a wonderful active companion, hiking and maybe a running partner. She would be a great dog for agility training. Her energy level is fairly chill for an ACD and she has an "off-switch" and likes to snuggle. She crates well and is house trained. She does have the heeler trait of jumping up at you if you don't set boundaries, but she is more gentle with the jump. She is becoming better as we continue training. She has learned to walk by rabbits and ducks without even the slightest pull on her leash. Margo would do best with someone who is experienced with herders. A fenced yard preferably. She is currently fostered in the Naples area.

Size

Details
Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Piper is an active girl who knows basic commands, is house and crate trained and is working on manners. She does better with routine and boundaries. She is hesitant and guarded when first meeting people, however, once she calms down she quickly warms up to new people. She is very food motivated and will do anything for a treat - so that is definitely a tool for you to use! Piper needs socialization with people and dogs and requires an experienced handler. She and her foster brother play well and also lay around chilling. She has some resource guarding with food, which is very common with shelter dogs given their situation and usually very easily trained out. She will be a great dog for an active couple. Hiking, ball play, agility training, road trips and farmers market could all be in her future. Her water skills are unknown at this time. Fenced yard and dog savvy folk are needed, along with a desire to continue training this sweet girl and exposing her to the big world!! Piper is located in Naples. Applications are found at ewenityfarmsbch.com.

Story
Iduna is very sweet, playful, intelligent and energetic, just a bundle of puppy love. She is a bit shy but gets along well with all people and dogs her size and larger. She is a bit too pushy and energetic for the small dogs in her foster home. She has not been exposed to children, but with her puppy energy and playful biting, they would need to be 10 and older. She is doing well with housetraining and does most of her business outside. Crate training is going good. She sleeps all night with no mess in the morning. She would love to have another confidant dog in the house to shadow and play with. Iduna loves to go for walks and play frisbee. Iduna is being fostered in the Jacksonville, FL area.

He does not like his space invaded by small toddlers and children so a home with older children is a must. He can be a stubborn boy at times so an experienced owner is required for Chunky. Story
Say hello to Roan. He is an owner surrender 6 year old Red Heeler in need of foster or adopter. This handsome cattle dog has tested great with all dogs and people, including kids and men. He is house broken, great on leash, affectionate and gentle. We haven’t officially cat tested but he doesn’t chase small animals. He rides great in a car. He is a low-medium energy guy who would love nothing more than a moderately active family and one or two doggy friends with similar energy levels to play with from time to time. He does have trust issues and is recovering from severe flea allergies so he does not do well with nails and vets. He will need training to be able to handle this. Roan is heart worm negative, up to date on all vaccines, and comes with free lifetime microchip registration. He also comes with free group training in St. Pete.

Story
With a personality as strong as the one he is named after, six-year-old Apollo is a legend all his own. He is full of fiery spirit and is eager to go and do almost everything. He is very handsome and knows just how charming he needs to be to win you over. When out in the yards, he runs all over with a smirk across his face, enticing those around to join the fun. His favorite activity is playing ball, showcasing his speed while proudly bringing the ball back, triumphantly. A close second is going on a nice long walk with some of our volunteers. He is in need of some leash training as he can pull at times, and he loves to play grab the leash when first putting it on. He will sit for treats, which has helped, and has shown he is very treat motivated. Toys are also a fun pasttime, squeakers or a good stuffed Kong with peanut butter keep this guy happy. Apollo can be affectionate, showing it in his own way by leaning up against your legs, and is always prompt for scratches, but is not a fan of full on embracement. He has been making more and more human friends, but is not to happy sharing space with other canine companions. With such a large personality, an experienced owner would be ideal for this exceptional dog. Adventure, excitement and a world of opportunity, Apollo would make a wonderful addition to the right home, come see for yourself at Satchel's Last Resort! For an appointment to meet Apollo, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found on our website, www.satchelslastresort.org, and an adoption counselor will get back to you.

If the question is not answered in the bio please send emails to   info@HeidisLegacyDogRescue.com Hi, I’m Douglas! I’m named after the road I was found on scared and alone. A nice family took me in, cleaned me up, helped me gain weight and even made sure I got all of my puppy shots! Now they are trying to help me find my forever home. The vet says I’m about 8 months old (EST DOB 06/20/2023) and some cheek swab thingy figured out I am a mostly Australian Cattle Dog/Terrier mixed breed. I’m a very playful, curious and energetic little fella! I love to do zoomies, army crawl across the living room on my belly and roll around to play on my back. I love playing fetch with a ball and spending time outside. I’m a chewer so sometimes I have to be redirected to my toys and bones so I don’t inadvertently eat my human’s socks or flip flops. I’m very trainable - I have learned to sit, sit and stay and shake. I’m a really sweet boy and am starting to mind my manners. I need someone who has the time and patience to work with me so I’m more consistent responding to commands. One of the best things about me is that I’m crate trained and I even go in there now without getting a treat when my family tells me to “go home”. They say I whine sometimes when I’m bored in my crate but it’s just because I want to come out to play and see everyone! I’m really good at taking naps and sleeping in my crate. I LOVE food, sometimes a little too much, but I’m not food aggressive. You can motivate me to do just about anything with a training treat! My rescue mom says I’m doing really well at sitting and staying before I get my food. The house I’m staying in has 10 year old twins. Sometimes I listen to them and follow their lead, other times I get confused and think they are pack playmates so I jump and nip (playfully). My rescuer has not seen me with younger kids so we are not sure how I would behave. I get along well with other dogs and love to rough play. My rescuer’s 5 year old 70 lb female pup is my favorite playmate! She loves to rough play with me and puts me in check when I need it. My rescue family says with some training and a lot of love and fun, I’m going to grow up to be a great dog!
