Howdy! I’m Tex, and I’m a 5-year-old heeler. I made a long trip from the streets of Texas to Florida after I was rescued after a large flood. I'm an adventurous guy who enjoys spending time with my favorite people. My favorite hobbies include swimming and sunbathing - I can do that all day! I can be selective of new people at first, as I hold myself in high esteem. Once I to get to know you, I am one of the most loyal, caring, and intelligent dogs in all the land. I get along with most dogs, and I am open to meeting cats with a proper introduction. With the right person and a steady routine, I know I can settle into your home and be your loyal companion. I’ve lived most of my life in a shelter - please, take a chance on me!

We found Blue while walking in a local park about two years ago. She was very skinny and had no microchip but was incredibly sweet. She quickly became a part of our family and loves to cuddle with anyone. About a year ago, another dog we named Hank, wondered up to our house in bad shape. She helped him to heal and they quickly became best friends and are inseparable now. We would love to find a home for the two of them as they play very well together and love to be active. They would do great in an active household that can provide exercise and mental stimulation. Blue needs an experienced owner as she is incredibly smart and athletic. Bentley is a loyal, intelligent dog who is eager to learn and easy to train. We rescued him a few years ago, and for much of that time, he was our only dog. Two years ago, he became a father to six puppies, and while we found loving homes for most of them, we kept two. At first, Bentley was fine with the puppies, but as they grew older, he became more protective—especially around his food and the house when they come inside. He seems anxious around them and would truly thrive as the only dog in a home where he can feel secure and relaxed. Bentley takes a little time to warm up to new people, but once he does, he’s an incredibly loyal companion. We welcome prospective adopters to visit him multiple times to ensure it’s a great match. A patient adopter who allows Bentley to build trust at his own pace, including with friends and family, will be rewarded with a devoted best friend for life.
