Story
Interview with Dash:Interviewer: How did you arrive to the Animal Shelter? Dash: Well, I was walking down the street looking for leftover Thanksgiving scraps when I noticed that someone pulled their vehicle over to the side of the road. I assumed they had some scraps for me, so I walked up to them and jumped into their vehicle and guess what, no scraps, how rude!!!! The man who picked me up told me that he didn’t want me to get hurt and took me to the Animal Shelter. Interviewer: Did you like being at the Animal Shelter? Dash: At first no, because there were a lot of rowdy dogs in the area I was staying at. It scared me a bit and I just stayed to myself, but then one day I went out for a walk and they put me in the Administrative Supervisors office, which was awesome. I went from a small apartment to a condo! A big upgrade. Interviewer: What has changed since you arrived at the Animal Shelter?Dash: A lot has changed! When I arrived at the Shelter, I was heartworm positive. I went into a foster home while going through my treatment. Thankfully, my treatment has been completed and starting March 15th, I can return to my normal activities, like playing fetch with a tennis ball and going for long walks! I cannot wait, I’m so excited for this day to arrive. Also, my foster parent wanted to adopt me, which I was super excited about because she has been one of the best foster parents that any dog could ask for, but unfortunately with inflation and being on a limited income, she cannot adopt me. But that’s okay because my forever family is out there, I just know it.Interviewer: What do you look for in a family?Dash: Okay, I am going to be a little picky here. I am a woman’s man, but if the woman I adore has a man in her home, I’ll be okay with that ONLY under these circumstances: 1) Men like to wear these weird things on their heads that scare me sometimes. My foster parent told me those are called “hats”. Not sure what they do, but they sure do scare me and prefer they not be worn when I’m around. 2)No loud power tools in my presence. Those things scare me too.Other than those 2 circumstances, I should be perfectly fine with a male in the home. What will not work for me is children. They scare me as well. Anytime I get scared, I tend to nip at their shoes. I guess it’s the Heeler in me that makes me do that. I am not a fan of cats and I have never met a dog before, so I`m not sure how I`d do with them.Inter

Story
Meet Toto! A 60 pound goofball that loves squeaky toys and throwing them and twirling them in the air! Toto just turned one year old in January. He loves playing with other dogs, but also LOVES being the center of attention, so he would do fine as an only dog. A home with a male dog that is similar size, energy level and play style would work also. No kitties please as he thinks they are fun to pester! He requires a fenced yard for outdoor playtime. Toto would do best in a home with older children. He is crate trained and potty trained. Toto walks well on a leash and is ready for any adventure you are! Whether it be a trip to Petco, Home Depot or a walk on the beach... he's ready! Car rides are his absolute favorite!! At the end of the day, he likes to snuggle on the couch for some quiet time. Toto is a good boy that wants to share his life with his forever family. If you think you might be the family he's looking for, please fill out an application and make his day. You won't be disappointed! Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Story
Orly is a very special girl with a very special story. We don't know much about her, but this is what we do know:  Orly is approximately 3 years old, presumably purebred Blue Heeler, small, sweet and calm for her breed. She is about 35 pounds, not a barker, and very submissive.   One of the Angels volunteers was contacted by a rural animal control about a sweet, scared dog with a massive, deep cut on her left side. On top of this, she was heart-worm positive. She was promptly rescued. Our wonderful vets were able to repair the wound, and she is now recovering well. Understandably, she was in pain and very scared (and very vocal about it, however, no matter how much she yelped and threatened to nip us when we first approached her, not a single time did she actually nip, which is very rare in heelers). She is now comfortable in the foster home, acting relaxed and happy. She seems to be docile, easygoing, and dog-friendly. She is fully potty trained and doesn't chew on anything, so we didn't have a reason to crate her. She walks well on a leash, and of course, she is a Velcro dog. In this regard, she is true to the Heeler breed.   She is  friendly towards strangers and seems to especially like kids. We think she will make a wonderful family dog.   Her heart-worm status is stage one - the lowest possible, with very little or no impact on her heart and lungs. This makes her chance to make a full recovery excellent!   Orly started her heart-worm treatment on 2/27/25. However, w e are accepting applications for her now, even hough she is on strict low activity during treatment. But she will be available for adoption starting in  mid-April.   If you love heelers the way we do, you will find Orly gorgeous. We have yet to catch her smiling, so we will be adding more pictures of her! Story
Hey, future family! It’s me, Levy!   I’m on a mission—to find my forever home! My foster mommy says I’m the best foster ever (and she’s had a lot of fosters, so she knows!). I’m always happy, my tail wags nonstop, and I just love dogs, kids, and all people! Basically, I want to be everyone’s best friend. I don’t need a crate because I’m a  very good boy ! I only chew my toys, know how to behave in the house,  and am potty trained!  No messes here—just pure, lovable pup perfection! I love being  outside , running around, sniffing all the things, and soaking up the sunshine. But don’t worry—I also love  snuggling up on the couch  like a little cuddle bunny. I’m just looking for that special family to call my own. If you need a happy, lovable, and well-behaved best friend, I think we’re a perfect match!  Let’s meet! I can’t wait to give you all my love (and maybe a few kisses, too). #PickMe #BestBoyEver #AdoptLevy #PottyTrainedAndProud #FureverHome     An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. Story
Hi, my name is Maggie!I'm quite the shy girl at first, I like to really get to know someone before I feel comfortable with them. I may be a bit scared in this environment, but once I've spent some time with you, my true personality shines bright! I like to be walked, petted, and even loved on! I'm not fond of other dogs, and even cats or smaller children; so a home that's quiet with older children and adults would be preferred. I love to snuggle after a long day of playing. If you'd like to meet me, please ask my shelter friends. They would be more than happy to introduce me to you! Thank you!Weight: 41 lbs Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 41.4 Age: 3yrs 2mths 1wks
