Meet Comet! Comet is a 7-Month-Old male Heeler mix. He is 33 lb and completely potty trained. Comet would benefit from a home that gives him a chance to exercise or would be interested in doing a dog sport. Heelers are very active dogs which often leads to herding behaviors. Please do research on the breed! So far, Comet has shown that he is able to calm down and settle after exercise. Comet is available through Guardians of the Green Mile (www.gotgm.org) of Portage, IN. We are a group of individuals that have come together to save the lives of animals that are in danger of being euthanized. We raise funds to fully vet the animals and to provide them with a stable home until they are adopted. All of the dogs in our Rescue are in Foster homes while they are looking for their forever family. The only time we put a dog in boarding is for a Foster to go on vacation if another Foster is not able to care for them. We appreciate your taking the time to fill out the application to adopt one of our Guardians of the Green Mile pets. The questions that we ask are to only find the right fit for all of our dogs and the families that will be adopting them. This handsome fella is an Australian cattle dog mix named Prince. He is about 1 year old. Prince was surrendered and it is clear he has had a rough time. Prince is fearful and can be jealous of other dogs because he is starved for attention. He is working on house training and understanding toys. He has been friendly with dogs in the past. Prince needs a special family to help him build confidence and learn that the world isn't scary. He is currently in the Chicago suburbs but he can be transported to an approved foster or adopter.

Booger is a very friendly and protective Australian Cattle Dog. He is about 5 years old and is great with children. He can be very excitable and can be nervous around new people though. He would benefit from having a big yard to run around and play in (although he is still stubborn about returning the ball while playing fetch). He is house trained as well. Booger struggles with going to the vet and can be very reactive to being in a vet's office. He will need someone very patient to help him with going to the vet. He is currently not up to date on his shots due to this.

Meet Keebler, the cutest lady in town! Now don't let her looks fool you, this gorgeous girl has lived quite the experience. She found her way to us through an officer who needed a safe place for this girl to crash. Her family was homeless & although she was well loved, this perfect girl needed a plan. We are unsure about her history but this girl is missing half her lip & has some scarring around different parts of her body. She is 100% kennel & house trained & will hold it until the cows come home. She loves affection, walks (perfect leash manners), & being where her people are at. Great with dogs, cats, livestock, all Of it! This girl deserves a chance & we absolutely LOVE her. Give her a chance.
