Hopkins is at our Adoption Center! You can visit our Adoption Center at any time during open hours, no appointment needed. Fill out our quick adoption survey on our website before visiting to streamline the process. Hopkins is: - Neutered - Up to date on vaccines - Microchipped - Heartworm negative - Currently taking medication for anxiety support - Hopkins has no known medical needs beyond routine wellness care Hopkins is: Housebroken: Doing well on a consistent routine, but still learning how to alert you when he needs to go potty Crate trained: Yes, he has done well for up to 8 hours when home alone Leash walking: Doing well overall. He is gaining confidence with city sights and sounds, and may prefer a quieter area. Dog social: Yes, but will guard food from other dogs so needs to be fed separately Cat social: Unknown Kid friendly: Unknown, but may do best with older kids due to his excitability during play Hopkins likes: - Being close to you and leaning on you (literally) - Having a dog pal to show him the ropes - A quiet place to live and a human that he feels safe with - Being a smartypants! Hopkins can be a sensitive sweetheart who would prefer to live in a slightly quieter home and neighborhood. He loves other dogs and gains confidence from having a dog pal in the home but should be fed separately as he can be protective of food around other dogs. He has been working to master potty training and will need an adopter who can help him with this as he adjusts to his new home. He can become mildly mouthy (play bite) when excited so would benefit from an adopter who can help him channel this energy in positive ways, like working on a stuffed Kong or puzzle toy. Hopkins's adoption fee is $300 and he is ready to be your new BFF! Next steps: Email adopt@onetail.org with questions, or submit an application online and we'll be in touch to schedule a meeting: https://www.onetail.org/apply-to-adopt/ **Have a busier home or noisier neighborhood? We have a similar dog that might be a better fit! Check out (link other dog)!

Story
Root Beer is no stranger to ALIVE Rescue. She was rescued by us back in August of 2017. Root Beer came from a hoarding situation in Chicago where over 40 dogs and puppies were living. Many of the dogs had parvo and Root Beer broke with parvo on the day we were saving her. Luckily, after staying in the ER for several days, she survived. Root Beer has been adopted twice into two loving families since her rescue and we have learned a lot about what makes her happy in a forever home. She bonds quickly to one person in a home and that person becomes HER person. She feels a sense of responsibility to protect that person from everyone else living and visiting the home. At this time, we will only be adopting Root Beer into a home with ONE adult and no children. She also has to be the only animal in the home, so no other dogs or cats. Root Beer doesn't do well with city life where there are too many people, cars and dogs. She'd do best in a single family home in the suburbs. Whoever adopts this girl is going to be really lucky. She will keep you laughing all day long with her happy-go-lucky personality. She's a total goof ball. She likes to feel the wind in her fur. If you are active and like the outdoors, she's your girl. She loves to be outside just sitting and smelling Mother Nature. If she's not resting outside, she is exploring and roaming around. She flourishes at the beach and will walk right in and swim. When she's not busy exploring and being adventurous, you'll find this girl snoozing. She's an expert napper and has never met a blanket or pillow she doesn't love. Falling asleep to tummy rubs is kind of the best. When she's feeling affectionate she'll let you scratch her head and she'll burrow her head into your hand. Let's talk toys....this girl LOVES tennis balls and her favorite is to sprint after the ball & catch it mid-air. Squeaker toy stuffies are the name of the game. And she's really great with puzzle toys. She's a smartie. Speaking of smart, Root Beer also knows basic commands including Shake, Toy, Ball. She will even make her way to the door when you say "inside and knows her bed to be "Place. Training her is easy because she is VERY treat motivated. Not sold on her yet? Root Beer is completely housebroken and is not destructive. Double bonus! Interested in learning more about this girl? Visit aliverescue.org and complete the adoption application.

The pet you reserve will be ready to leave with you that day.Are happy with the known facts we can tell you in advance IE color, sex, coat type, etc. All family members are in agreement and excited to proceed. If the reserved pet is not a good match you will be welcome to look at other available animals or simply come back at a different time. For the welfare of the pet, agree to cancel your appointment immediately should you not be able to make it. Please Note: Only one reservation is allowed per applicant. Once a pet is ready for adoption at Morton Grove, adoptions are first come/qualified. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN SAVING A LIFEThe rise of the no-kill movement over the past decade has been one of the most significant trends within animal protection. For millions of dogs and cats, it has been the difference between life and death. Wright-Way Rescue's mission is a little different than most. We focus a significant portion of our efforts on saving pets throughout RURAL AMERICA. It is in these extremely remote locations that help and hope for homeless pets is still at a minimum. Often times our shelter is their only chance of being accepted into an adoption program and receiving the care they need. Wright-Way Rescue adopts more dogs into homes per year than any other shelter in IL. We do so on approximately 10% of the budget of similarly sized operations. Each dollar donated is stretched to the max to provide aid to homeless pets and support the rural communities we partner with. We know that helping to create compassionate communities where resources are generally lacking is key to leading the US to become a country who no longer kills pets simply because they do not have a home. Thank you for considering adoption through Wright-Way Rescue, a NO-KILL animal rescue. If you have any questions or concerns throughout your adoption experience, do not hesitate to contact our organization.Sincerely,Wright-Way Rescue
