Meet Archer! He is an 7 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 65 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Archer is nervous around strangers! He is good with older children and cats! No younger children or dogs, due to his reactivity! The owner is surrendering him because he recently gave a warning snap at their 1 year old son. He needs to find his new furever home as soon as possible. If you think you can provide a great home for Archer, please contact the owner listed below. There is a rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Archer. RINGO Available for Adoption FAST FACTSMale Medium-Sized Mixed Breed, 2-Years-Old, 42 PoundsLoving, Sweet, Silly, Polite, SmartMedium EnergyPeople Friendly (kids ≥7 years because he can be jumpy)Potty TrainedCrate TrainedFenced Yard Preferred Greetings from Ringo. Unlike my namesake from the Beatles, I’m not much of a drummer—unless you consider my happily wagging tail banging against a wall or door whenever I see a human face drumming. But just like the original Ringo, I’m goofy and lovable—and ever so loving. CARE rescued me from Missouri and placed me in a fabulous foster home. My foster mom reports that I have excellent house manners and like to stick close to her and my foster grandma, lying down with crossed paws and observing them doing household chores, cooking, etc. While I’m excellent at entertaining myself with squeakies and chewies I do love to play and will bring my foster mom a toy to toss, then retrieve it and drop it at her feet, so we can play some more. Other favs include walks, car rides, belly rubs, lickmats, and long naps. Here are a few other things I’d like to tell you about myself. I’m a quick learner and have already mastered sit and lie down and hope to continue my education in my forever home. I’m a quiet guy, never barking for attention, and I can fly up and down the stairs without any concerns. I’ve never had an accident in my foster home and don’t need to be crated, although I occasionally choose to go in my crate during the day and at night. I’d love to have a fenced backyard to run around in, but that’s not essential as long as I get plenty of exercise.  I do prefer to be the only pet in the home. If you agree, please fill out an adoption application as soon as possible. And when you come to meet me, if you bring some strawberries—my very favorite treat—that will definitely seal the deal for me! Love & licks,RingoAugust 18, 2024, 9:00 pm

Story
Violet and her 7 siblings were abandoned in a box in Mississippi. They were found and cared for by a Good Samaritan. They are now ready to find their forever homes! According to her foster family:"Violet is a sweetheart! She is 9 months old and still plays like a puppy. She quietly sleeps through the night in her crate. She is very smart and catches on to commands quickly. She has not had any accidents in my house and I would say she housetrained. She just wants to love and be loved. Violet gets along with our dog, so could be in a home with another dog or by herself. On walks, she doesn't pull, she likes to stop often to sniff. She would make a great addition to any family"! ------------------------------------------------------------------THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN SAVING A LIFE!Volunteers and staff are excited to assist you in the adoption process! Story
Ursula here! I’m as excited to tell you about myself, as I am to meet you. I say that because whether it be a dog, cat, or human, I have never met a stranger. My foster home consists of canines, felines, and my favorite thing ever…kids! I live with two other dogs currently and my playstyle can be described as submissive. I love to romp around and play but I’m gentle when I get to wrestling. I love going on walks and I have worked hard to master my leash skills. I love riding in a car and I’m calm as a co-pilot. I also sleep quietly in my kennel each night and will wake you up with a smile each morning, This blue-eyed gal cannot wait to find her forever family….is that you?

Story
**SCRAPPY HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!** Scrappy is currently accepting applications for his forever home! Friendly, social, happy, and handsome, Scrappy is the total package! This guy was rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in Kentucky. He is now in a foster home in the Chicago suburb of Wheeling while he patiently waits for his forever family. His breed and past are unknown, but we suspect he's a combination of several breeds, a true super mutt! Border Collie, Shepherd, Retriever are all possible ancestors in his lineage. His exact age is also a mystery but he is estimated to be around 2 years old. Scrappy is the kind of dog we think will fit in most households easily and will make a great companion for a family looking for a dog that is still active, playful, and fun-loving but one that is past the young puppy shenanigans. An added bonus to his stellar personality is his size; just under 50 pounds, he's a medium-sized pooch, ideal for urban dwellings. He's got great house manners as well. Quiet, housebroken, crate-trained, not destructive or anxious when alone, walks nicely on leash, friendly with other dogs. What more could you possibly want in a dog?! Scrappy loves toys, going for long walks, and cuddling with his humans. He'll be a phenomenal, loyal companion for an active household. Scrappy was recently neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested (negative), and microchipped. With his clean bill of health, he's ready for his next chapter: a forever home of his own! • Scrappy's adoption fee to the rescue is $375. He is in a foster home in Wheeling, IL, and can be seen by appointment only after an application has been received and approved. For more info or an application, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com or visit palsplacerescue.org. Unfortunately, we cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not submit an adoption application unless you are ready to meet and welcome a dog into your home within three days of applying. Adoption applications and correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are waiting for our reply, please check those folders regularly, and if it has been 48 hours without a reply, please follow up with an email to ensure your application was received. • Scrappy's adoption fee is $375. This fee covers any necessary medical care to prepare him for adoption. Pal's Place relies solely on adoption fees and donations to care for the animals in our rescue. Your donation also helps save other dogs like Hugh from euthanasia. • Please email Palsplace1@hotmail.com for an adoption application and put the dog's name in the subject line. Please check your spam/junk folder; sometimes, the applications end up there! We are a volunteer-run organization and do our best to respond to all inquiries within 24-48 hours. • All of our dogs are in foster homes and can be seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an approved application has been received. To receive more info, please email palsplace1@hotmail.com. Email is the preferred method of contact and is the quickest way to receive a response. Unfortunately, we cannot hold our adoptable dogs for any reason. Please do not apply until you are ready to adopt.
