Story
Beans is an absolute gem who is eager to please his person! Beans just returned from being THE BEST doggy at the training camp. The trainer says he's very smart and loves to learn! He LOVES playing outside in the pool or chasing around the sprinkler stream and also enjoys long hikes through the woods. He loves learning new tricks and having his brain worked, whether it's a 15-minute training session or a puzzle toy he has to figure out himself and trust me he will! Beans is an active boy who would do best with a yard to run or a lake to swim in. Are you ready for a companion to keep you on your toes? - 1 year 11 months - 57lbs fully grown - Needs a training plan - Good with dogs/cats/farm animals - Good with kids 16+ - Adoption fee: $175 This dog is currently housed at our shelter. If you are interested, please come in at your earliest availability during our open hours, no appointment necessary. We do same-day adoptions, do not hold dogs, and work on a first-come, first-served basis as long as it is an excellent fit for both parties. If you have questions or want to possibly schedule an appointment on one of our closed days, you may email dogs@adoptapetfenton.com. Dog adoption fees include spay/neuter, rabies vaccine (if age-appropriate), distemper/parvo combination vaccine, leptospirosis vaccine (if age-appropriate), bordetella vaccine, deworming, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea preventative, a dental cleaning (if necessary), and a microchip. Future vaccines, tests, and treatments will be the responsibility of the adopter.

Story
This dog found its way to our house a few months ago, we’ve been trying to find her a good home since, because we currently have chickens outside and a cat inside that she wouldn’t get along with. I would love to find a home for her with someone who either has another small dog or no other pets, before the winter gets too harsh. She is super sweet and she loves to snuggle, and has spent lots of time with another small dog we have. We have had to keep her in an enclosure or in a specific room of the house most of the time we’ve had her as she has tried to run away or go after our chickens.

Story
Hi everyone, my name is Bandit! I am an active pup looking for a forever family that will help me grow, learn and be the best dog I can be! I'd love to be your sidekick on all the adventures. My current hobbies are playing with my furry foster sister, playing with toys and of course eating yummy treats. I enjoy sleeping in my crate at night and ride great in the car. Not to brag but my foster mom says I am "one SMART cookie."   If you are looking for an active dude, apply today and Bandit's CCRC friends will be in touch! We do not have a facility for you to visit.  WE PROCESS APPLICANTS AND SET APPOINTMENTS BASED ON THE ORDER APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED , so while you are welcome to email  ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, you will want to complete the  ONLINE APPLICATION ASAP ,  which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find  a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10 day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fee is $220 for adults, $295 for puppies (under 6 months), and $150 for seniors (8 yrs and up) which covers the cost of the spay/neuter, age appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. The majority of dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers, so there is often very little known about their history or even current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC provides a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, as well as telephone support.   January 9, 2025, 9:10 pm

Story
Meet Chuck! Chuck is a charismatic five-year-old blue heeler who is 55 pounds of fetching fun! Chuck was surrendered to GLDR after his mom had some medical issues and was sadly unable to care for him. After being with one family his whole life, he's understandably confused being at the kennel. We promised him we'd find him an amazing home and he'd never had to see another kennel again! Not only does Chuck have a great smile, he's also a very smart guy! He already knows several commands including sit, shake, down, and drop it. House-trained and crate-trained, this boy has it all! While he was trained in a crate, his last family allowed him free roam of the house and he did great! Chuck is his name and fetch is his game! This guy is always up to playing ball. He has the cutest playful pounce when he's ready for some fun. He is always up for a walk and does best with a harness lead. Ready for a road trip? Chuck does well in the car and is ready to join you on all of your adventures. Chuck likes his treats and takes them very gently. He likes to talk when he's excited and he's so much fun to hang with! Chuck may have a chicken sensitivity, but it's easy enough to work around as he likes all sorts of treats. Chuck loves to be outside exploring and will need an active family and fenced in yard to keep him happily engaged. Based on our evaluation, we feel Chuck will do well in an active home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. He may have the potential to live in a home with other dogs as he has done well with them at the kennel. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think he could be the pup you've been searching for, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our charming Chuck!

Story
Foster location: Eagle, Michigan Meet Axel! Axel is a super handsome 1.5 year old Cattle Dog mix that is looking for his forever home. He is a very social boy who loves playing with his foster siblings and running with them in the yard, going for walks and meeting new people and then cuddling up on the couch at night with his foster mom. Axel has been attending doggy daycare and loves it! Axel is house and crate trained and walks good on a leash. He is great about chewing on his toys and bones and not getting into things he shouldn’t. Axel would enjoy an active home with another young dog to play with, he has really bonded with his foster siblings and enjoys running and playing with them. Kids make Axel nervous so he is looking for a home without children. Axel is a very sweet and smart boy and catches onto new things quickly, he is young and ready to learn! In order to set him up for success we would recommend his family enroll him in a positive reinforcement training class upon adoption. Axel’s adoption fee is $300, he is neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, microchipped, dewormed, and current on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Please follow the instructions to apply for Axel found in the auto-reply you will receive or email adoptapupanimalrescue@gmail.com for an application. Adopt A Pup is 100% foster-based which means we do not have a centralized facility where you can visit our dogs. The first step towards meeting the dog(s) you are interested is to complete an application. One of our volunteers will contact your references and set up a time between you and the foster to meet and interact with the dog(s) of interest.

Story
This is a courtesy post for Silver Lake Animal Rescue League to help find Sugar Bear a forever home. So if you are interested in Sugar Bear, please email slarl@yahoo.com with any questions.Sugar Bear is a sweet 6-7 year old mixed breed dog (we don`t know any of her breeds!). Since she has tall ears, we are thinking possibly Cattle Dog mix? She weighs around 35 lbs so she is the perfect medium size dog - not too big and not too small!Sugar Bear`s family was evicted from their home and they put poor Sugar Bear out on the streets. Luckily, a neighbor witnessed this and contacted the local animals shelter. Sugar Bear is now searching for her forever home.Sugar can be a little shy when she meets a new person but once they pet her, she warms up very quickly! Since she can be a little shy, we would recommend a quieter home and one without small children.Sugar enjoys car rides, cuddling and always being with her person, going for walks and naps! Her favorite hobby is chasing squirrels so for that reason, she may not be good with cats or very small animals. She is in a foster home with another dog and does fine with her. She is a very smart girl and listens very well when you call her name. She would make a great agility dog!If interested in Sugar Bear, please email slarl@yahoo.com with any questions.https://www.petfinder.com/dog/sugar-bear-73335576/mi/clawson/silver-lake-animal-rescue-league-mi155/
