Story
Jake is a very sweet boy. He does get scared easily around other dogs so he needs a safe home where he is the only dog so ge wont get scared and defensive. He loves to cuddle and will definitely love you back. He was a rescue from a shelter and needs all of the love you have. He is up to date on his shots, neutered, and is computer chipped. We do not want any adoption fee but want to find him his furever family and home with a fence. He has been living with my family for four years and he was about four months of age when we saved him. I would love to keep him but have too many other rescues in the home and he needs to be the only dog because he gets scared around other dogs. He is good with other animals just gets defensive with dogs.

Story
Meet Jupiter! This handsome boy isn’t just good-looking—he’s got a goofy, lovable personality to match! Playful, affectionate, and full of energy, Jupiter will keep you laughing with his silly antics.A mix of Australian Cattle Dog and Blue Heeler, he’s athletic, intelligent, and always ready for action. He thrives on both mental and physical stimulation, making him a great fit for an active home—especially one with a fenced-in yard.Jupiter is very dog-friendly and gets along with pups of all sizes. He’s curious about cats and may enjoy a playful feline friend. Because he’s a sensitive guy with big feelings, we recommend a home with children aged 12 and up.Smart and eager to learn, Jupiter already knows some basic commands and would excel in obedience training. If you’re looking for an energetic, loyal companion—especially if you have a farm or love herding breeds—Jupiter might just be your perfect match!Think Jupiter could be the one? Contact us to meet him!Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

Story
Sugar Bear is a sweet 6-7 year old mixed breed dog (we don't know any of her breeds!). Since she has tall ears, we are thinking possibly Cattle Dog mix? She weighs around 35 lbs so she is the perfect medium size dog - not too big and not too small! Sugar Bear's family was evicted from their home and they put poor Sugar Bear out on the streets. Luckily, a neighbor witnessed this and contacted the local animal shelter. Sugar Bear is now searching for her forever home. Sugar can be a little shy when she meets a new person but once they pet her, she warms up very quickly! Since she can be a little shy, we would recommend a quieter home and one without small children. Sugar enjoys car rides, cuddling and always being with her person, going for walks and naps! Her favorite hobby is chasing squirrels so for that reason, she may not be good with cats or very small animals. She is in a foster home with another dog and does fine with her. She is a very smart girl and listens very well when you call her name. She would make a great agility dog! If interested in Sugar Bear, please email slarl@yahoo.com with any questions.

Story
In the spring of 2023, we got a call about 4 dogs who were in bad shape and living in the woods a couple of hours from me. We set traps and were able to rescue 2 of the 4. We tried and tried to get the other 2, but we were unable to do so. Some of the local people continued to try to get them, as well, but couldn’t. I am still very sad about having to leave them behind. Chester and Chloe were near death when we rescued them. They were starving, their skin was horrible, and of course, they had every known parasite. They are healthy now. Chloe is still very shy, and I feel that she needs a special home with a lot of love, patience and attention! We do not see any aggression in her. She has been at Blue Ribbon Kennels now for 14 months and needs a forever and loving home so badly. She has never had the opportunity to live inside a house and to be part of a family. Chloe is in Mississippi. When adopted, she will come fully vetted and will be transported by Rescue Riders, a very reliable transporter. All of this is included in her adoption fee.

Story
This boy has such soft, fuzzy fur, you have to feel it in person! Romeo is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 46 pounds. Romeo is a loving young pup who likes to sneak up in your lap! He is highly intelligent and is very good at catching on to things quickly. He already knows sit and the "drop it" command when playing with the soft toys that he loves, but would benefit from more training with basic obedience. He needs a leader who can provide structure and who can give him the physical and mental stimulation he needs. Romeo is very attentive to you and stays engaged with you, looking for direction. With his energetic and attentive nature, he would be perfect for someone who is looking for a companion for long walks and hikes in nature. A home with an adopter who has experience with the herding breed would be perfect. He has so much love and affection to give someone, if you think you could be Romeo's fur-ever home, please come and meet him today. He will need a home where any children are at least 8 years old. Romeo came to the rescue with his best friend Coco, it would be wonderful if they could be adopted together as they are a bonded pair, but we do understand if they have to be separated. If you are interested in Romeo and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*
