Story
Meet Deano, a super cute, small blue heeler weighing in at just 25 lbs and just under a year old. This adorable pup had a rough start, abandoned as a puppy and left to fend for himself. Fortunately, a kind local shop provided him with food and shelter, but Deano deserves so much more. Deano is a friendly little guy who has never met a stranger. He’s perfect with other dogs, although he hasn’t been tested with cats. He’s encountered chickens once and didn’t seem to notice them. Playful and eager to please, Deano does well on a leash despite not having regular walks. This young heeler would love a home with some land to run around or kids to herd. Deano is ready to learn and excited to find a family that will give him the love and care he deserves. Will you be the one to give Deano his forever home? Story
Meet Cookie, a spirited senior dog with a zest for life! Despite being about 8 years old, Cookie plays like a puppy and has a boundless love for the outdoors. She enjoys playing with balls, chasing squirrels, and has a special talent for playing soccer all by herself. Cookie was found as a stray in Little Rock, AR, and a kind Samaritan brought her to our rescue group, ArkanPaws. She has been living on our rescue farm for over a year now, and we're eager to find her the forever home she deserves. Cookie is independent and prefers solo play over interacting with other dogs. She has a very high prey drive, so she needs to be in a cat-free household. With her impressive mousing skills, Cookie would make a great addition to a farm, helping keep the rodent population in check. Fully vetted and on heartworm prevention, Cookie is ready to bring joy and excitement to her new home. Her adoption fee is $350, covering the cost of transport from Arkansas to New England. If you're looking for a playful, independent, and energetic companion, Cookie is the perfect match for you! Adopt Cookie and let her playful spirit brighten your days!         4o ##2097442##

Story
Meet Redmont, an Australian Cattle Dog/Pittie mix named after the Birmingham neighborhood he wandered as a stray dog for at least a week, capturing the attention of all the residents. After outsmarting many neighbors who tried to catch him, he was finally captured when he followed another dog into a fenced-in yard. Although he was very scared of humans at the time, his love of other dogs helped lead him to a better place. 🐾 He’s been in a foster home for 9 months now, and with the help of professional assistance and dedicated foster parents, he has transformed from a skiddish dog scared of humans into a dog who will approach people with his tail wagging.🐕‍🦺 His foster parents find it remarkable that even though he was so scared of them, he never once growled or snapped at them. He’s a very gentle, sweet dog who plays really well with the other dogs in his foster home. He would love to be adopted into a home with another dog, and would be fine with another dog who is more of the alpha. He’s looking for guidance from the other dogs around him, and he will walk away when another dog corrects him. He may look muscular and tough, but he’s really a softy.  Redmont is estimated to be about a year and a half old. When he plays with other dogs, you can really see his youthful energy. But after playtime, he’s happy to chill and take a nap. This smart boy is completely house trained! Redmont loves going for walks, and walking was one of the biggest factors in his transformation. He is looking for an active family that loves walking as much as he does, and he would prefer a fenced-in yard where we can safely run and play.  Redmont’s foster mom wanted to document his journey for all the neighbors who became so invested in him, so she created an Instagram account (redmont_the_dog) for the neighbors to follow his progress. Please check it out if you want to get a better sense of how he has transformed into the special dog he is today. 🫶
