After surviving a traumatic injury that led to the loss of her front leg, she’s ready for a fresh start in a loving home.Though initially shy in new situations, LooLoo blossoms with patience and trust. She thrives in a calm, low-traffic home (adults or older children preferred) and gains confidence from canine companions who match her play style. She’s house-trained, leash-savvy, and adores her crate as a safe retreat. This spunky girl was just minding her business in her yard at a rooming house in Memphis when, in an unfortunate incident, police responding to a call mistook her protective barking for aggression. Without provocation, she was tragically shot in the leg. Fortunately, her owner surrendered her, ensuring she could receive urgent medical attention and a chance at a much brighter future.Despite her injury and eventual amputation, LooLoo hasn’t let it dampen her zest for life. She’s still recovering from surgery, but her resilient spirit shines through, and we hope to fit her with a prosthetic once she's fully healed. PAWS New England will be covering her journey to find mobility and comfort.LooLoo is good with other dogs and would do best in a home with children over 12, as she hasn’t yet been tested with younger kids.
