Story
Codie - Codie is a 2 year old super sweet lab mix that has been in foster care his whole life, patiently waiting for his forever family. His sister, Roxxie, was with us as well, but she was adopted this past year to a wonderful family. Codie loves to go on walks and loves the dog park & being around other pups. He is very shy at first with humans and other pups, but it just takes him a little time to warm up. He just has to make sure he can trust you. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He loves snacks and cheese. That's the way to his heart. He is fully crate trained and potty trained. If there was ever a dog that was autistic, I believe Codie to be. He is so smart and has really come out of his shelter but it really does take time. He would love to live in his kennel if I would let him, but I won't. It's going to take a special family who will take the time with him. He would thrive with another pup to lead the way. He follows Snoop around and steals all the toys and loves to grab things in the house to take to his kennel. 😂 If you are missing something, he usually has it. He is so sweet and so funny. If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Story
LooLoo is a 3-year-old, 35-pound cattle dog mix with a spirit as strong as her will to overcome. After surviving a traumatic injury that led to the loss of her front leg, she’s ready for a fresh start in a loving home.Though initially shy in new situations, LooLoo blossoms with patience and trust. She thrives in a calm, low-traffic home (adults or older children preferred) and gains confidence from canine companions who match her play style. She’s house-trained, leash-savvy, and adores her crate as a safe retreat. Despite her amputation, she’s quick on her feet and loves outdoor adventures!Smart and food-motivated, LooLoo is eager to learn and share her love. She’s spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm-negative. With a daily joint supplement for lifelong comfort, she’s ready to embark on her next chapter.Could you be the one to give this resilient girl the love she deserves?Name: LooLooBreed: Cattle DogSex: FemaleAge: 2-3 years  (estimated)Weight: 35Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 12Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $500.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  Memphis  TN   IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.Meet LooLoo, a brave little 15-pound cattle dog mix with a true survivor’s spirit! This spunky girl was just minding her business in her yard at a rooming house in Memphis when, in an unfortunate incident, police responding to a call mistook her protective barking for aggression. Without provocation, she was tragically shot in the leg. Fortunately, her owner surrendered her, ensuring she could receive urgent medical attention and a chance at a much brighter future.Despite her injury and eventual amputation, LooLoo hasn’t let it dampen her zest for life. She’s still recovering from surgery, but her resilient spirit shines through, and we hope to fit her with a prosthetic once she's fully healed. PAWS New England will be covering her journey to find mobility and comfort.LooLoo is good with other dogs and would do best in a home with children over 12, as she hasn’t yet been tested with younger kids. She’s ready for a fresh start, a loving home, and the chance to show just how much joy she can bring. Let’s give this courageous girl the life she deserves!IMPORTANT INFORMATIONPaws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England. Story
Hello, My name is Red. I have two brothers available for adoption, Huck & Finn. Our brother Sammy has been adopted. Our lives began being homeless with our human parents. We (our mom, dad, and siblings) lived in the back seat of a car. This is where we were born. Our human mom worked at Waffle House. Our foster mom went into the WH for breakfast one day and started talking to her waitress about dogs. That began everything. Once our foster mom found out we were living in the backseat of the car, she started pursuing us babies, coming into rescue to get the type of homes we so deserve. So, here we are. I am incredibly handsome, neutered, leash-trained, and house-trained. I love to give hugs and get them, too. My ideal home is one where the family knows heeler herds, loves to go for walks and hikes and is active but enjoys quiet time in front of a fireplace. I am ready to come home. Please request an application from alittlelonger2home@gmail.com. When you receive it, complete it thoroughly, including the email addresses of your three references. Story
Hello, my name is Olivia. I came to the rescue with Rex. No one knows where we came from or why we were on the rural stretch of highway. But what is known is that a very kind-hearted widow was coming home when we were spotted. Our rescuer stopped on the shoulder of the highway, opened the back hatch on her car, opened the door of the crate in her car, and then told us to "load up." So, we did. We were blessed to have a rescue lady get us. We love her. Today, we are ready to be adopted. We are not a bonded pair and are happy to be your home's only dog. I, Olivia, am just the happiest girl. I am so sweet and gentle, and I love being with you. I love life and want to please you; everyone is my friend. It would be great for hiking, camping, or going to the beach for a day to play on the shoreline. I am a car rider, dog social, and love humans. But most of all, I love to snuggle. I am ready for the next chapter of my life with YOU. Please request an application from alittlelonger2home@gmail.com.
