Story
Hello! I had gotten Lexy from a friend who was looking to rehome puppies! When she came home to us it was great, but soon we realized our schedule wasn’t enough to keep up with her needs. We have her shots updated and she is in good health, but we are working all day where we barely get to take her out to explore the world. I thought we would have the time, but unfortunately we do not. I want to give her a chance to be in a home where they will love her and take her on lots of adventures and to not be stuck in my apartment all day, it breaks my heart to give her away but I want a better life for her!

Howler is a 1 year old intact male Australian Shepherd mix. He is looking for a new home as his current owner cannot keep him. He was born and raised on a farm and has working dog energy. Howler has shown some possession issues and has been aggressive over food.  If you are interested in meeting Howler, please reach out to his current owners at: nicolesabate97@gmail.com All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Story
Meet Buck, a young dog filled with a friendly spirit and an energetic heart. Despite his shy nature, he is quick to show his loyalty once he forms a bond. Buck loves to play and explore. He`s always up for a game of fetch or a good run around the park. His shyness might make him a bit hesitant at first, but with a little patience and love, he warms up and his loyal nature shines through. Buck is looking for a forever home where he can share his boundless energy and unwavering love for his person. Adopt Buck and gain a friend who will stay by your side, through thick and thin, always ready to bring joy and companionship into your life. New spaces make Buck nervous, so we are requiring that any children in his new home are age 10 or older and recommend that his new family has experience with dog ownership so they can better address his needs. He may do well with other dogs in his new home after a slow introduction. Buck did not get along with cats in his previous home, so we will be requiring that there are no cats in his new home. We will also be requiring that potential adopters meet with Buck twice prior to adoption to help ensure a solid understanding of his behavioral needs.Adoption Price: $300Monthly Promo Applies!

Story
Meet Shuman in Auburn, CA, Shuman is a beautiful young, fast and sweet 1year old Aussie mix. He is a lean, tall 50 lbs. Shuman is neutered and UTD on vaccines and Heartworm/flee & tick prevention. He gets along with other well-mannered energetic dogs, but NOT cats. He is playful, loves toys, is good on a leash and is learning Sit, Down & Stay. This is all new to him so continued training will be necessary. His foster mom thinks of him as a sweet puppy in a teenage dog body. Shuman came to us a little over a month ago from a Central California Shelter. He had been at the shelter for a month or so while awaiting his Stray hold to be done. It seems that Shuman had been on the streets, and it took Animal services a while to catch/trap him. The Shelter staff reached out to find him a foster because he was so shy and shut down. He wouldn't eat or come out of the corner for affection. It was very unlikely that he would get adopted while at the shelter. While at his foster home in Northern California, Shuman has taken a while to warm up and begin to trust his foster mom & dad. He is gaining confidence though and with that is showing his true puppylike personality. Though Shuman is still shy with people he does take to some people more quickly than others. He is leery of being caught or grabbed and will need time and lots of patience with his new people. Once Shuman learns to love and trust you, he'll show his fun silly nature. He may even steal one of your socks to show how much he loves you. Shuman will need a secure environment with a very well fenced yard. Because Shuman needs time to learn to trust his new people, he may try to 'escape' so should be kept on a leash (even in the fenced yard) for the first three weeks in his new home. Foster mom feels Shuman would do well with an active person, maybe someone who would like a running partner. Shuman- Loves toys, Young dog, puppylike and gaining social confidence Needs other well-behaved dogs to model after NO CATS Chickens- not recommended for New owner- Patient Active and experienced dog owsner-maybe a runner? If you sound like a great match for Shuman, here is the link to the app: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.

Story
This handsome young boy is a sweet Aussie mix who is named after the kind pilot that flew him to his foster family in Auburn, CA. Shu is a lean, tall 50 lbs., is neutered and UTD on vaccines and Heartworm/flee & tick prevention. He has quite a story… Shuman came from a Central California Shelter where he was not thriving. He was shut down and scared. Even animal control had a heck of a time trapping him off the streets. In the shelter, he was shy and wouldn’t eat or come out of the corner for affection. It was very likely he would have been euthanized had his foster parents not taken a chance to rehabilitate him. He is one lucky pup! Today, less than three months later, Shuman has blossomed. He plays well with other polite dogs, loves toys, and is good on a leash. He has been learning some commands while with his foster family and knows Sit and Down. He is working on Stay and waiting at the thresholds. Shuman now trusts his foster mom and dad but needs time to warm up to strangers. He has gained some confidence, and his true puppy-like personality is showing through. He has begun to walk up to neighbors for pets and treats while out on walks and greet his foster family at the door with a wagging tail. Shuman loves his balls too and will bark enthusiastically for ball play. Sometimes he entertains himself by throwing the ball up and catching it. How Aussie is that? Shu is crate trained and will need one in his new home because it’s his safe place when he feels afraid or needs a break. In the evening, Shuman looks for something to chew on, so his crate is a good place for him to enjoy a chew toy or bully stick. You know the saying: You get out of a relationship what you put into it? With Shu, it will be that way. Shuman will need lots of patience with his new people. He occasionally will chew on things. He shouldn't but takes redirection well. He is not a dog you will meet and get lots of love from instantly. He says,” I am no labrador!” He will need a secure environment with a very well fenced yard; he may try to ‘escape’ if he gets frightened so should be kept on a leash (even in the fenced yard) for the first few weeks in his new home for insurance. Shuman is afraid of quick movements and does not like loud popping noises like gunshots or chopping wood and will seek a place to hide when he hears them. This sweetie has a really good off switch and will relax most of the day but he loves to get his walkies out in the morning and evening so will do well with an active person, maybe someone who would like a running partner. No cats, chickens or other small animals please. Once Shuman learns to love and trust you, he’ll show his fun, silly nature. We think he has made incredible gains in a short time and will continue to be a Good Boy with the right EXPERIENCED family. He may even ‘sit pretty’ and put his paws on you for affection which is so endearing; when he does this, you’ll know you’ve become his person. Please consider this boy. He deserves a soft warm bed with you to cuddle with! If he sounds perfect for your family, here is the application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoptions There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.

Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Rohnert Park, CA Meet Yeti! He is an 4 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 50 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots and on heartworm prevention. Yeti hasn’t been tested around older children or cats. No younger children, due to his reactivity! He is good with dogs, but plays rough and is vocal when playing with them! He needs to be fed separately, due to his food aggression. Yeti bit the owner’s wife in May 2023. They were both laying on the couch. She didn’t see the lick mat behind him. She went to say hi and pet him, which resulted in him lunging at and biting her. The owner is surrendering him because he growls/shows teeth at their baby whenever the baby tries to crawl towards him. He needs to go ASAP! If you think you can provide a great home for Yeti, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Yeti. Owner’s Contact Information: Scott at scott.walsh64@gmail.com

Story
I was adopted from Bradshaw Animal Shelter in Sacramento after being found abandoned on the side of the highway as a little puppy. I live up to the border collie reputation as I am full of energy & I love the thrill of the herd/chase! I am very intelligent and know all my basic obedience and some extra tricks like bow, paw, and roll over. My trainer said they think I would be great at agility. I love my humans and bond quickly. Mom calls me a "velcro" puppy because I am always following her around, trying to crawl on the couch with her, or leaning up against her legs as she cooks. I would love to be with someone who shares my interest in the outdoors, going on walks, playing fetch, and who I can be around for a large part of the day. *active and eager to please, needs lots of exercise and stimulation *needs work with loose leash walking and excitability *has a fear of paws being touched/nail trims Adoption fee will be donated to local animal shelters

Story
Aries was transferred to the Sac SPCA from a Southern California shelter in order for us to assist them following the fires. He is a 1-year-old, 45lb dog who loves other dog friends! Aries finds making new human friends a little overwhelming, he does best when he has a doggy friend to show him the ropes. Once comfortable, Aries shows off his affectionate, energetic personality. He is hoping to find a home with another dog friend and human friends who are willing to be patient and give him time to adjust.I don`t have a known history of living with other dogs, but I`ve enjoyed playing with them while at the Sac SPCA! I`d do best going to a home with at least one other dog friend to show me the ropes.I don`t have a known history of living with cats and may do well with a slow introduction.I would do best in a home without young children. If you are interested in this specific animal, please come to the shelter for walk-in adoptions Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30am to 5:30pm. Story
Meet Sadie, a bright and playful young Border Collie mix with a heart full of adventure! Weighing in at 40 pounds, she’s still very much a puppy—full of energy, curiosity, and those classic Collie smarts. Sadie is sweet, friendly, and loves everyone she meets. She thrives in playgroups, enjoying zoomies and fun with her canine friends, so another playful pup in the home would be a huge bonus! She already knows several commands like sit, down, come, and lie down, proving she`s eager to learn. Sadie also seems to love water, so if you`re looking for a swimming or hiking buddy, she’s your girl! She’ll do best in a home that understands the needs of a young, intelligent, high-energy dog and has the time to keep her engaged and active. If you`re ready for an affectionate, fun-loving sidekick, Sadie is waiting to meet you!Sadie has participated in shelter playgroups and may enjoy a compatible canine friend in her new home.  Looking for a buddy for your dog?  Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we`re a match!  Check out her playgroup video here:To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm.
