Story
Meet Obi – Your Future Shadow and Cuddle Buddy! This sweet boy is incredibly lovable and 100% a lapdog at heart. He’s got a little bit of separation anxiety, but has made huge strides since settling in—he’s already much calmer when left alone for short periods. While he may still whine a bit when first kenneled, he's about 90% crate trained and doing great with some encouragement. Obi will require a yard and 6' fencing in his new home. No apartments. He is completely potty trained and thrives in a home environment—this Aussie may look the part, but he’s definitely not a farm dog. He enjoys walks, potty breaks, and a little playtime outside, but when he’s had enough, he runs straight to the door ready to go back inside and snuggle. He’s an eager learner and loves to please, so with a bit of time, he could adjust to being alone for longer stretches. Right now, he’s used to someone being home most of the day, with only a few hours alone here and there. Mealtime is serious business for him, so we use a slow feeder bowl to help with his speedy eating habits. He’s learning not to sneak bites from the resident dog’s bowl (bless Coco for her patience), and that’s a work in progress! Overall, he’s just a very good boy with a gentle heart. He’ll nudge your hand for pets and affection and melt right into you. If you’re looking for a loyal, cuddly companion who would thrive in a home with structure, love, and maybe even a doggy agility course someday—this guy’s for you. Obi's adoption fee is $200. This fee covers his vaccinations, heartworm test, microchip and neuter surgery. To apply to adopt Obi, fill our an adoption application at lucky13rescue.org.
