Story
Crater is a pup who mostly prefers to sit back and observe his siblings shenanigans. He’s a snuggly boy and really enjoys human interaction over rough housing with the other pups. He loves toys and making funny faces. If he catches you trying to take a photo of him, he will run to the camera to put his nose against it. He thinks he’ll be a lap dog forever (and of course would love nothing more!)

Story
Boomer, or Bam as he’s affectionately called, has been my loyal companion for nearly a decade. Though his muzzle has turned white with age, his spirit remains as youthful as ever. He still bounds with energy, but more often than not, you’ll find him sprawled in a sunny patch, soaking up the warmth. When the sun isn’t out, he’s curled up on the sofa, bed, or in some hilariously upside-down position, lost in dreams. His love for snacks is unmatched—apples, peanut butter, and coconut oil are his favorites. And while he adores his human, he’s just as friendly with other dogs, always greeting them with a wagging tail. I had hoped to care for Boomer for all his days, but life has taken an unexpected turn. My greatest wish is to find him a home where he’ll be showered with love, sunlit naps, and endless treats. He deserves nothing less than a family who will cherish him as much as I do. Boomer’s journey isn’t over—it’s just finding a new path.

I am a young guy (only 3 or 4 months old) and have started out my life homeless. I am hoping you can be my forever family. According to my nice foster family, I am a sweet boy, with a happy disposition. I am a little shy at first, but I think it is simply because I have not had a lot of exposure to a lot of things. I do warm up quickly and give the best hugs and kisses. I am gentle, and have a cute little personality that really starts to shine with a couple of toys or out in the yard. I am enjoying the company of other dogs and am learning to play with them. I am doing great with crate training, and am doing a great job learning the ins and outs of housetraining. My foster mom says that I have the cutest little head and face with the sweetest floppy ears. If you are looking for your new best friend please consider me! I'm looking for my new best friend too, and maybe we could be each others! I can't wait to meet you. Meet Graham! Graham was given away by someone who got him and then decided they didn't actually want the responsibility of a puppy. Graham loves people! And loves kiddos. He is still a little nervous meeting new dogs, but he is just a baby who is learning social skills! He has the softest coat and makes a great cuddle buddy. He will need to work on basic training and potty training as would any young pup!

Story
His name is Cody. We've had him since he was 2 months. He is now 5. I love him so much! I am a single parent with one child. He Graduated last year and has his own life. I lived in the same home for the last 10 yrs until 6 months ago. I work and my son goes to school and work. We now live in a townhome with no back yard for Cody to run and play anymore. I don't like having to put him in his kennel majority of the day. I don't like that he is alone so much now. He is a really good pup, I just can't have him anymore. I want him to be able to run and play like he used to. He is house trained, crate trained, and he will go lay down in his kennel to go to bed even if you don't tell him to. He deserves a better home. It hurts to say but it makes me sad everyday I leaving to go to work. He's got those eyes, they talk. If anyone wants a great companion by their side, he would be the one. He gets along with our cat, kids, and everyone. He's really awesome and that's why I am here. Thank you!

Story
Bailey is an incredible dog and we love her dearly, but she has become extremely anxious around our son making her very unpredictable around him. We know that she deserves a loving home with someone who can give her the time and energy she deserves without the fear of acting in her anxiety. She is a 7 year old Aussie mix and about 40lbs. Bailey is very healthy and up to date on all of her vaccinations and vet exams. She is loyal to a fault, loves humans (not so much the small ones), adores walks and lots of belly scratches. Bailey would do great in a home where she can get lots of exercise and play without the stress of large groups or little ones. She is fully potty trained and has no medications or health history. We just want to find the right fit for her and love her as much as we have over these last 7 years.

Story
Hi, I'm Cici! I'm an energetic 10-month-old Aussie mix—possibly part Border Collie or Blue Heeler. I was found running the streets of Leavenworth, Kansas, before being taken in by Leavenworth Animal Control, where I stayed for four weeks. Now, I've been with my foster family for nearly a month, and I'm ready to find my forever home! I'm highly intelligent but a bit strong-willed, so I could use some training when it comes to personal space. I love to run, play with toys, and chew on bones. I have lots of energy and sometimes play a little too rough for some dogs, so I’ll do best in a home that understands my spirited nature. I'm fully up to date on vaccinations and have been spayed. My adoption fee is $225. If you think you can keep up with my energy and give me the love and guidance I need, please check out Heart of America Humane Society. I can't wait to find my perfect family! Estimated DOB: 06/01/2024 All Heart of America dogs are altered, micro chipped and will have age-appropriate vaccines. The adoption fee for all of our dogs/puppies is $225. Dog Adoption Application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAUS/Dog

Story
Loki is a sweet boy. He is a little bit anxious and likes to lick. He thrives on lots of attention and human interaction. He’s a big snuggler, which I loved before I had kids. He has done fairly well with kids for the past 5 years. We’ve worked really hard with our kids on how to care for him, but one of our kids frustrates him because she wants to be by him constantly and puts stickers and stuff on him. He nipped at her this morning, which prompted us to find him a new home without young kids. No bite history. Super sad as this was never our plan, but I just think he will be happier in a home without little kids. We have another dog (Aussie/blue healer mix) that he gets along really well with.

Story
Hi friends! My name is Willy. I'm a border collie mix of sorts and quite handsome if I do say so myself. I'm a bit of a special dog, a real shy guy, but if someone would just give me a chance I will make a great companion. I love other dogs, as long as they're friendly, and I absolutely must go to a home with another friendly dog or two to show me I'm in a safe place. We all need some reassurance sometimes, right? I also need a fenced yard. Whoever my new owner is will need to be able to give me lots of time and space to feel comfortable with them. I'm a really good boy, I'm crate trained and house broken, but until I get used to you I'm gonna need you to keep your paws to yourself. I promise it's not personal, and you'll see I'm worth the wait! Willy is neutered, up to date on shots and microchipped. He's located at The Pet Connection Sanctuary in Beloit, KS, but transportation to the right home may be available. To learn more about Willy please contact The Pet Connection by call or text- 913-671-PETS (7387).

She also knows how to walk on a leash but would benefit from more training and practice.  Neela is a very gentle, quiet and loving girl. She is kennel and house trained. She hangs out in a kennel when the human is out during the day and then loves free reign of the house including couch time and sleeping snuggled up, through the night with the human. Neela would love an active family for play, adventure and snuggles.    Approximate Birthdate: April 2022 Adoption Fee: $200 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL. He is almost 14 months old and weighs 67lb. He is housetrained, up to date on vaccinations and has a healthy report from his recent vet visit. He enjoys playing with other dogs that match his level of excitement. Upon initial excitement at meeting, he settles into appropriate interactions though he has not been around many small dogs. Pacheco loves everyone and has been loved since day one! His humans have been faced with long workdays away from home and that makes him sad and lonely. He would love to be part of a family that has a better balance of work and play. Pacheco also needs a family who has experience with his breed and enjoys all those characteristics of a working dog.
