Story
We are heartbroken. We have had Opal since she was a 10 week old puppy and went to great lengths (drove 500 miles to get her!) to bring her to our home. We have a busy house-a 4 year old German shepherd and 5 teenage-adult children. Opal was always nervous and extremely protective. It has just gotten worse. She ca;t meet new people in our home because we fear she will bite them. She is ok in public and has excellent recall. But she has begun protecting my husband and I from our own family members. Our neighbors are afraid of her because side she barks so much and tries to get through the fence. She is 2 now and I keep thinking she’ll outgrow this but now I think she really needs a big field where she can run around and do some work herding animals and not people. We are willing to continue to pay her vet bills and buy her food-we just need to find her a better place where she will be safe and we can feel at ease. Searching for a loving home for our Opal. She is crate trained.

Story
Oliver Bob is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! A shaggy Lab mix looking for his second chance at a loving home! This laid-back boy enjoys a leisurely daily walk and then settling in for a cozy nap on the couch. He’s a sucker for head scratches and warms up quickly to friendly faces. Oliver would do best in a home with teens and up—no young kids or cats, please. If you’re looking for a loyal, easygoing companion to relax with, Oliver Bob might be your perfect match! If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter. If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Be sure to check our Facebook page "Rhode Home Rescue" for details on upcoming events and other announcements.

Teddy is a wonderful dog and we are sad to see him go. Unfortunately, we just cannot provide the level of care that he needs. He is very sweet and mild tempered very tolerable of other pets and children. He has grown up with a toddler. He does a slow introduction to other animals, and he gets very excited he barks at approaching strangers but is very friendly when he meets others at the park, etc. his bad habits I would say our counter surfing leash pulling and jumping up on people, but he just gets so excited and so much love and attention is very high energy so best for family that goes to the beach, hiking dog park, etc. He’s really a very sweet boy. We will miss him.

Story
Thank you for your interest in adopting. All of our dogs live in Alabama foster homes and transport to New England when they are adopted. If you are approved to adopt one of our dogs, you will speak to the foster family and you can request FaceTime, video or more pictures once your application is approved. Every dog is spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, multiple dewormings, and pet receives parasite prevention. Dogs over six months are heartworm tested, and any dog that has been through treatment is fully disclosed with medical records. All dogs live in foster homes, in a family environment. Every dog comes with its health records. Mandy is approximately 9-10 months old and currently 40 lbs. she was found stray with her sister and no one looked for them. She was very skinny. We think Mandy’s going to weigh 50 to 55 pounds as an adult dog at two years old. Mandy lives in a foster home with a Senior couple and several dogs of various ages and sizes. She is happy and playful. She is crate training and does well in her crate overnight and for nap time. She will not do well crated all day while her family is at work. She needs someone home more than someone absent. Mandy has not lived with children that we are aware, however, we feel that she would do well in a home with school-age children. She has not been exposed to cats in rescue, but we could have her cat tested for an approved applicant. We have been sending Dogs and cats to New England homes for 15 years. We have to pay a transporter for every dog we send to a New England home. We do not own the van or service. Every dog sees a veterinarian before they leave for a health check and health certificate, which also comes with a cost. Total adoption fee for this sweetheart is $585.00. Hasn’t changed in years. $345 adoption $175 transport $65 health certificate Serious adopters should fill out the application online and someone will get back to you. We prefer a vet reference, current or previous, to adopt a puppy. Copy and paste the link into your browser. https://form.jotform.com/212574701956157
