Story
Bruce is a lovable and energetic little guy. He loves the outdoors and cuddling up on the couch. He has lived with other dogs and cats his whole life, as well as with children. I want to make sure he goes to a good loving home where he will get the attention he needs. I started working a new job and am gone 10 hours a day, so I currently do not have the time to work with him.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Cash is the sweetest young girl with a fun personality to match her unique looks. She is curious and friendly. She loves other dogs and everyone she meets! Not sure how she would do with cats, but seems to be respectful of other animals, but very playful. She has been great at the dog park and loves all the other dogs! She is housebroken and will go in her crate, but doesn’t love to spend too much time there. She is young and enjoys exercise, but is making progress on her training. She is smart and eager to please. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. March 13, 2025, 10:05 am

HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter.&#226&#128&#139 Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Good afternoon everyone, I would like you to meet Sadie, one of our newest arrivals at the Mikey & Me Kennels in Chelsea for Happy Days Dog & Cat Rescue.  [] Sadie is a very sweet girl, she is a mixed breed, approx. 4 years old, and she weighs 45-50 pounds. Sadie has a short coat and beautiful blue eyes; she enjoys meeting and interacting with new people and she’s been fine meeting and playing with some of the other dogs under our care. Sadie had some vaccinations before her arrival and she went to Village Animal Clinic in Dexter recently for a heartworm test, wellness exam, and any vaccinations/boosters she still needed. Sadie was microchipped for her safety and she will be spayed at another appointment sometime in the near future. Upon her arrival from the shelter, we noticed Sadie had some tumors on both of her mammary chains. It’s also evident that she’s had at least one litter of pups, maybe more. At her first Vet visit we scheduled a chest X-ray and biopsies which were both completed about two weeks ago. Thankfully, her chest X-ray (3 views) was clear. After taking the biopsies of both mammary chains, the left side came back as benign. The right side also showed some benign tumor growth but there were a few questionable cells noted. For this reason, we have scheduled surgery for Sadie on September 3rd and her right mammary chain will be removed. After her full recovery, we will schedule another surgery to have her left mammary chain removed. (The cost for Sadie’s care will be about $3,000). We are all hoping for a full recovery and we’re looking toward a bright future for Sadie. These two surgeries are going to be difficult for her and I’m hopeful we can find a quiet (no kids or other dogs) foster home so Sadie can recover without the noise and chaos we sometimes see in the kennels.  [&#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143] If you would like to meet Sadie, please submit an Adoption or Foster Application under her name at www.happydaysdogandcatrescue.org. Otherwise, please consider sharing her post with your friends and family to help us find Sadie’s Foster and forever homes.   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption.
