Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Susie is a beautiful Aussie mix. She is a 1 year old and is 40lbs. Susie is fearful when meeting new people and takes time to be comfortable. She does jump up on people when she is happy to see them. She loves to play with toys and other dogs. She does love to chew Nyla bones and antlers. She will bark when someone comes to the door and she sees things in the yard. She is housebroken and knows some basic commands. Susie will chase cats when they run and may try and play rough with them. She is an active dog but calms down in the house..Susie would love a fenced in yard to play in. She will bark at things she sees went outside in the yard. She would not do good in an apartment.Susie would be a great family dog. HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter.&#226&#128&#139 Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a    $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee    to change information.   Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Good afternoon everyone, I would like you to meet Sadie, one of our newest arrivals at the Mikey & Me Kennels in Chelsea for Happy Days Dog & Cat Rescue.  [] Sadie is a very sweet girl, she is a mixed breed, approx. 4 years old, and she weighs 45-50 pounds. Sadie has a short coat and beautiful blue eyes; she enjoys meeting and interacting with new people and she’s been fine meeting and playing with some of the other dogs under our care. Sadie had some vaccinations before her arrival and she went to Village Animal Clinic in Dexter recently for a heartworm test, wellness exam, and any vaccinations/boosters she still needed. Sadie was microchipped for her safety and she will be spayed at another appointment sometime in the near future. Upon her arrival from the shelter, we noticed Sadie had some tumors on both of her mammary chains. It’s also evident that she’s had at least one litter of pups, maybe more. At her first Vet visit we scheduled a chest X-ray and biopsies which were both completed about two weeks ago. Thankfully, her chest X-ray (3 views) was clear. After taking the biopsies of both mammary chains, the left side came back as benign. The right side also showed some benign tumor growth but there were a few questionable cells noted. For this reason, we have scheduled surgery for Sadie on September 3rd and her right mammary chain will be removed. After her full recovery, we will schedule another surgery to have her left mammary chain removed. (The cost for Sadie’s care will be about $3,000). We are all hoping for a full recovery and we’re looking toward a bright future for Sadie. These two surgeries are going to be difficult for her and I’m hopeful we can find a quiet (no kids or other dogs) foster home so Sadie can recover without the noise and chaos we sometimes see in the kennels.  [&#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143] If you would like to meet Sadie, please submit an Adoption or Foster Application under her name at www.happydaysdogandcatrescue.org. Otherwise, please consider sharing her post with your friends and family to help us find Sadie’s Foster and forever homes.   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. January 5, 2025, 4:10 pm

Story
AUSSIE, very active, unbelievably smart. She’s 4 years old and weighs around 25 lbs Sissy needs to be in a home with an active lifestyle. Aussie’s are incredibly smart dogs that are motivated to learn & please you. If you don’t have experience with this breed, we highly recommend you do your research before applying. Australian Shepherds need to have a job and if they don’t, they will quickly assign themselves one. From Sissy's foster mom: Sissy is a high-energy dog who would thrive in a home with at least one other dog or a highly-active owner who wants to walk her often. She loves going to the dog park and is very sociable. Having a fenced yard would be best since Sissy prefers to run around outside. She loves being brushed and loved on. She is house-broken and scratches at the door to go out. She is crate-trained and sleeps through the night. She is a very fun dog.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
She is just under 1 years old. She is fostered with big dogs (Great Dane) and lots of little dogs, also cat friendly. A bit shy of men at first until she gets to know them. Poppy has been spayed and up to date on vaccines, on prevention and given great Veterinary care. As just a puppy - she is new to being on a leash and pulls from it so her foster is working with her on her. She is mostly house trained and follows the dog pack around. She needs a family to continue to socialize her and help her grow. Appears to be a mix of a Collie or Australian Shepard. Expected to be a medium sized adult dog with medium to long hair requiring regard grooming. Email to Apply! Adopt@CaffeinatedCanineRescueTx.org Fostered in Texas. *Adoption Fee includes transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Freckles is a female Australian Shepherd mix. She has some fear reactivity issues with unfamiliar people and dogs that she has been working on. She would need a slow introduction if meeting a new dog. Freckles does get along with the other dogs at her foster home. The best fit home for her would be a calm adult only home. Approximate date of birth is 6/22/2014
