Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Susie is a beautiful Aussie mix. She is a 1 year old and is 40lbs. Susie is fearful when meeting new people and takes time to be comfortable. She does jump up on people when she is happy to see them. She loves to play with toys and other dogs. She does love to chew Nyla bones and antlers. She will bark when someone comes to the door and she sees things in the yard. She is housebroken and knows some basic commands. Susie will chase cats when they run and may try and play rough with them. She is an active dog but calms down in the house..Susie would love a fenced in yard to play in. She will bark at things she sees went outside in the yard. She would not do good in an apartment.Susie would be a great family dog. HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter.&#226&#128&#139 Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a    $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee    to change information.   Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Good afternoon everyone, I would like you to meet Sadie, one of our newest arrivals at the Mikey & Me Kennels in Chelsea for Happy Days Dog & Cat Rescue.  [] Sadie is a very sweet girl, she is a mixed breed, approx. 4 years old, and she weighs 45-50 pounds. Sadie has a short coat and beautiful blue eyes; she enjoys meeting and interacting with new people and she’s been fine meeting and playing with some of the other dogs under our care. Sadie had some vaccinations before her arrival and she went to Village Animal Clinic in Dexter recently for a heartworm test, wellness exam, and any vaccinations/boosters she still needed. Sadie was microchipped for her safety and she will be spayed at another appointment sometime in the near future. Upon her arrival from the shelter, we noticed Sadie had some tumors on both of her mammary chains. It’s also evident that she’s had at least one litter of pups, maybe more. At her first Vet visit we scheduled a chest X-ray and biopsies which were both completed about two weeks ago. Thankfully, her chest X-ray (3 views) was clear. After taking the biopsies of both mammary chains, the left side came back as benign. The right side also showed some benign tumor growth but there were a few questionable cells noted. For this reason, we have scheduled surgery for Sadie on September 3rd and her right mammary chain will be removed. After her full recovery, we will schedule another surgery to have her left mammary chain removed. (The cost for Sadie’s care will be about $3,000). We are all hoping for a full recovery and we’re looking toward a bright future for Sadie. These two surgeries are going to be difficult for her and I’m hopeful we can find a quiet (no kids or other dogs) foster home so Sadie can recover without the noise and chaos we sometimes see in the kennels.  [&#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143] If you would like to meet Sadie, please submit an Adoption or Foster Application under her name at www.happydaysdogandcatrescue.org. Otherwise, please consider sharing her post with your friends and family to help us find Sadie’s Foster and forever homes.   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Story
Sissi is the sweetest Australian Shepherd. She loves being petted, going for walks, playing catch and having her belly rubbed. She is a great watch dog and very loyal. I am so sad to be rehoming her, but she needs more attention than I am able to provide right now.

Story
Yozuri and her sister Yamaha were found when their foster parents were on a walk. The sisters came trotting out of the woods where they had been living in a cardboard box. They were vetted and fostered and adopted to a home. Due to unforeseen circumstances that were not at all of her making, Yozuri finds herself back in the care of Save a Stray once again hoping for a forever home. Yozuri is just happy about life. She is housetrained and crate trained. She gets along with everyone, loves toys, and playing fetch. Yozuri is smart, comes when called, and gives attention easily. She is a playful girl but also loves to snuggle. She is a delight to have around. This girl deserves a home to treat her like a princess. If Yozuri sounds like the one for you and your lifestyle, please read info below regarding adopting. Complete an application at https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635. Save a Stray pets are in foster homes. Please complete an application at www.saveastray.org to make arrangements to meet our pets. Out of state meet and greets are conducted via FaceTime. Story
❄️ FROSTBITE ❄️ Frosty is a not-so mini- mini australian shepherd weighing 42lbs (though she could stand to lose a bit of weight!). She's 5 years old and despite being used as a commodity her whole life, she's an absolute lover and wants to trust people. She can't wait for her forever home! We are still getting to know her, and she's a little nervous at first, but she's going to warm up into a family we just know it! She is great with other dogs, and seems like she'll be totally fine with kids. She hasn't been tested with cats. This Winter crew just arrived 1/22/25 so we don’t have much info yet, but we will update information as we learn about each pup. All of our pups will be fixed prior to adoption. They are currently living in temporary foster homes until they get fixed/find their forever homes. Our fosters will update us soon with pictures and bios. Many of these pups are shy at first as they have had a major change and are living inside a home with a family for the first time. They will need work on potty training, crate training, walking on a leash and basic commands. Check out our Facebook page for more information including our up coming adoption events in Brighton, MI. https://www.facebook.com/sgdhrescue?mibextid=LQQJ4d Sorry, we do not get message through Petfinder.

Story
URGENT Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Romulus, MI Meet Zeke! He is an 4 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 55 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Zeke is good with farm animals and other dogs! No children or cats, due to his reactivity! Zeke bit the owner’s neighbor on the hand in 2021 after they tried to let him out. He recently bit the owner after walking into the house to take his son to the car. Zeke bit the owner’s wife while she was trying to lock him in a room. He also bit the owner’s father-in-law on the hand while he was going after the cat. He is on 100mg twice a day for his anxiety. The owner is surrendering him because he is jealous of their young son. He needs to go by 12/31! If you think you can provide a great home for Zeke, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Zeke.
