Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Lincoln! He is a very high energy, active and sweet 2-year-old, 40 lb Australian Shepherd. He is a happy boy and loves to get attention from his people! He will do great with a family that understands herding dogs and their needs. He can be strong willed and is still working on basic obedience and will need a family that will continue his training. He is working on not jumping up and mouthing right now so he needs an adult only home or a home with kids over 14. He is super sweet, but he has a lot of happy and unfocused energy. He is very smart and will thrive with training. He would love to be in a home in a suburban or rural neighborhood with a securely fenced yard for him to run and play. He will do best in a home where someone is home much of the time. He likes other dogs but can play very rough with them and would rather spend time with his humans so for that reason we are looking for a home for him as an only dog or with another dog who is able to handle his rough play. He will need an adopter that will keep him physically and mentally active and would make a great jogging or adventure buddy. He is up to date on all of his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED! Boomer is an ~2yo, 55lb Catahoula/Aussie mix who is ready to find his forever home! He is currently living in a foster home. Boomer is a sweet, affectionate, intelligent, awesome dog, with a happy and friendly demeanor and great personality! He is house trained, sleeps in a crate at night, walks wonderfully on the leash and is friendly and curious to meet new people and dogs on our walks. He loves to sniff around and has a keen nose! Boomer is also the perfect mix of chill and playful. He is content to nap on the couch or dog bed and he also loves running around the backyard sniffing everything and checking things out. Boomer is VERY affectionate and cuddly. He LOVES to be around his people. He would love to be in a home where people are around much of the time. Boomer is food-motivated and knows some basic commands. He has an independent streak, so he will need an adopter who can be firm and consistent. He is a fast learner when he’s properly motivated (treats!) Boomer’s style of play is physical and vocal, so he would be best suited in a home without small children. Boomer would love to be in a home with another dog around his size who has the same play style and a backyard to run around in. Boomer would do best in a home that does not have cats or small animals (maybe even small dogs). His herding instinct is strong. Boomer is neutered, UTD on shots and microchipped. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED Say hello to this sweet girl, Darby! Darby is an Aussie mix, approximately 9-months-old, 38 lbs, and just the sweetest little gal, looking for her forever home. She thrives being around her foster sisters and brother, playing ball in the yard, wrestling, and chewing on toys. Darby is a shy girl at first but quickly warms up to humans. She is most comfortable interacting with her foster mom and dad while they are sitting down. She is curious and loves to explore new places and smells in the house and out in the yard. While she isn’t super treat motivated, she goes wild at mealtime with a hilarious dance. She is a great eater, gobbles up all her kibble, and does well eating around the other pups. She enjoys bones and jerky chews too! She has zero aggression and all the love to give other dogs and her forever humans. Darby is good on leash and has quickly learned basic commands like sit and paw! She responds to “let’s go!” to come back in from outside playtime in the yard and is house broken. Darby would do best in a home with at least one other friendly and playful dog. She will be the absolute sweetest companion. Darby loves laying on the couch and getting comfy, and sleeps in bed with us each night. She will go in her crate if needed but is perfect to stay out when her humans aren’t home. She is seen snoozing on camera the whole time! Darby will be a great fit for a family who is willing to spend as much time with her as possible. If you sit on the couch, she will be there touching you. If you go to bed, she will want to cozy up with you too. Someone would be lucky to have her as an addition to their furry family. Adopt this little angel Darby girl! Darby is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Colton! Colton is a 4-year-old, 59 lb purebred Australian Shepherd who is ready to find his forever home. This lovable guy was surrendered due to a divorce and is now looking for a fresh start. Colton is an active and affectionate boy who loves his cuddles! Colton is known for being a loyal and loving companion who will always be by your side. Whether it's cuddling on the couch or playing in the yard, Colton is a joy to be around. Colton thrives in a space where he can run, play, and get plenty of exercise. He is looking for a home outside of the busy city, with a fully fenced yard where he can burn off his energy. His affectionate nature makes him a great companion for other pets and for those who enjoy spending time with a playful pup. Colton does not walk well on a leash yet. He was previously living on acreage, so he likely never had the experience of regular walks. He is a strong puller, so his new owner will need to be patient and work with him on leash training. Colton is a healthy, strong boy, he does have a chicken allergy, so he will need to be fed a diet with no chicken-based ingredients, beef or lamb are the preferred proteins for him. If you're looking for a loyal, well-adjusted, and active companion who will shower you with love and affection, come meet Colton! Colton is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet this fluffy boy, Kiko! He is a 7-year-old, 50 LB Australian Shepherd mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA. Kiko is a sweet, energetic boy who loves to be outside exploring. He is active and would love a forever home that will exercise him daily and provide him an active lifestyle. He would also do best in a standalone home with a fenced yard to explore, preferably outside the city. Kiko has done well with other dogs in our care and would be a great additional dog in a home. He would also do fine as an only dog, soaking up all the love and attention. Kiko is a very strong boy, and will require adopters that are able to handle his strength. He is also incredibly smart and eager to learn, which will make training a blast! Kiko is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
NEW FOSTER NEEDED APRIL 14 Animal Profile: Sanji is an estimated 1-2 year old 40-50 lbs "Texas Brown Dog" -- likely a mix of several different breeds such as Aussie, Catahoula, Lab and Shepherd. He has a naturally cropped tail and a dappled coat. The shelter reports that Sanji is goofy, friendly, and loves to play with dogs. He seeks human attention and enjoys receiving attention, and has a signature -- run over and flop -- move for attention. Sanji can't wait to meet his forever family this new year! We will share more info as we get to know him in foster care.  Foster Update: Sanji is a smart sweet boy with incredibly soft fur. He is an easy going guy personality wise, crate and house trained and good with dogs and people-- he is not fostered with kids but has been good with them at events , so 7 + kids considered. He would like a yard to run around in and and active family who can provide him good leadership and an outlet for his energy and drive -- both intellectual and physical. He adores playing with toys and can keep himself entertained. He is a gentle boy, who settles quickly in his crate, but could use a little work on his leash manners as he pulls a little bit -- he is making good strides with training. Breed experience a plus! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Sanji will be arriving from Freer Animal Shelter via K9 transport on 1/13/2025. He will be in foster care in the Seattle area and available for adoption soon!March 20, 2025, 3:06 pm
