Story
Searching for a rehome for my sweet girl Rue. Im looking for people with experience with reactive dogs and have the right environment for her. Unfortunately life has other plans and I cannot provide her with the environment and support she needs anymore. We have had trouble finding a good fit for her because of her history and reactivity. She is very active and loves to run and play. She also loves to train and is super trainable and willing to work! She does good with other pups and likes being in a pack but also does good alone. She does struggle with general anxiety and we have been working through her reactivity issues with a trainer. She completed a 1 month board and train that has helped. She is reactive on leash with dogs, people and bikes. She has a history of 1 bite level 3 on the Dunbar scale but hasnt bit anyone since. She needs someone experienced and with enough love and attention to give her. Shes very funny and sweet and just needs some extra love!

Story
Pablo is an anxious but sweet boy, he was my dads dog but my dad died recently. Pablo is great with other dogs and cats, but takes a while to warm up to new people. He will get anxious (he takes Prozac) and nip or growl at first, but when he gets to know you he is very snuggly and loving. He has a lot of potential to be a wonderful dog for someone that can give him the time and training he deserves. I am not currently capable of that, I travel for work and dont feel that I can do him right, so I am trying to rehome him.

Story
Welcome Duke to CCPAL Rescue. Duke is a 14-month-old boy. We think he is an Aussie/German Sheperd. He walks good on leash. He recognizes the women at the rescue and he does not jump up. In fact, he did not jump up on myself or my husband when we were around him. He also kennels up nicely when he is asked to kennel. He gets along with other dogs and loves the puppies at the Rescue. He is really a mellow and low-key dog. He would like a walk and to go do outdoor activity but he is fine with relaxing and not doing anything as well. He is an over-the-top shedder. He appears to be a moderate shedding dog. He weighs about 75 pounds. He is also good in a car an overall an AMAZING dog. He causes no trouble at the Rescue. He would be fine with a moderately active family. He would be fine in a family with children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is a stunning dog with two very light blue eyes. He is a head turner for sure. He is chocolate brown with these eyes. It may be hard to see in the photo but he is gorgeous. He is healthy, neutered, vaccinated and ready for his forever home. He would be fine with another dog. He isn’t picky. He also would be fine as an only dog. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland(Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. . His adoption fee is $300 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
In Vancouver: Miss Hulda is a love able 40 pound 2 1/2 year old Australian Shepherd mix. She found herself in rescue after her owner passed away unexpectedly. Hulda makes herself right at home and loves meeting new people. She settled in easily with her foster family, especially the Dad. She is great with kids, but will still need work on her excited jumping up to greet. Since she is a herding breed a running child is pretty darn enticing and she may want to round them up if not leashed. Hulda has been exposed on walks to cats, squirrels, bicycles, scooters, strollers and lawn mowers with zero reactivity. Hulda is working on her desire to counter surf and her digging in her water bowl after playing frisbee. She also has some resource guarding issues with a kong or bone, but not her food bowl or toys. Did we mention what a focused frisbee dog Hulda is? She lives for her frisbee time. She spins and catches nearly every throw. She isn’t great at bringing it back, but seems to have her foster family trained just the way she likes it. Her walking on leash has improve greatly after using a no pull harness. She is a fast paced “power” walker, so if you are looking for a partner to help get those steps in, then she is your girl. Hulda loves a car ride, maybe a little too much. Her excitement in the car has been hard to contain. Having her restricted to the back seat seems best. She eventually will settle down but is just beyond excited to get to where she is going. She is good with being brushed and groomed and waits to be dried off with a command after coming inside wet. Hulda plays with her toys by herself and hasn’t ripped any of her stuffed animals in half. She can be a little bossy with her foster mom and grumps at times, testing the boundaries but has improved everyday. Her recall is ok but still needs to be worked on. Her foster family recommend only letting her off leash in a fully fenced in area as she has shown she likes to run (race) along the fence line if allowed. She quickly adjusted the behavior with a command. Hulda would be happy to have her new family not have to be away at work all day. She hasn’t had any potty accidents, anxiety or destroyed anything being left out in the house. She sleeps through the night, most nights on a blanket on the couch. She has jumped up on the bed for some belly rubs. She hasn’t been much of a barker. She is nonchalant when meeting other dogs off leash at the park. Hulda is ready for a calm, stable home to call her own. If she sounds perfect for your family, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration aned transfer to her new furever family.

Talk about right place at the right time yet again with our foster mum & for beautiful Shiba. This is another one of those disgusting stories plus so very sad for Shiba. Our foster mum was at one of the very high kill shelters in CA rescuing a sweet soul when a family come along who were going to dump Shiba. They daughter said she did not like Shiba because her eyes freaked her out. Shiba was her dads dog & had her since she was a puppy & they were all moving. The dad lived in the garage & he left Shiba with them that morning because in his new place he couldn’t have dogs. So the daughter wanted Shiba gone & was not willing to take her to the new place they were moving to. The usual disgusting story of, we are moving so we can’t take our beloved dogs with us story. Unfortunately our foster mum thought there was only Shiba they were dumping but they had 2 more dogs. As our foster mum was driving away down the road a young daughter in the car yells out “we have 2 more dogs we are giving to the shelter”, but her father told her not to bother the lady. So unfortunately 2 other dogs did enter the shelter & we don’t know if they made it out alive from the same home? We are so grateful to have saved Shiba. We can’t begin to express how much we all love this girl. Without our outstanding foster mum this would not of happened & who knows what would of happened to this precious girl? Shiba is 1 of our beloved rescues favorite girl in the rescue. She is the nicest girl. We truly believed her dad did love her very much. Medically, no & financially no. That was all on our shoulders to take care of. But her mannerisms tell she was loved. Shiba who is now looking for her very own forever home & who will never give up on her again & dump her & love her just as her foster mum & we do. Shiba was bought back to WA state from CA where we got all of her medical taken care of & she can’t wait to find her loving forever home. Our foster mum in CA cried & cried the day Shiba left as she knew she was a very special girl. How on earth anyone could let Shiba down is beyond us. Especially since the previous people had her so long, it’s shocking. Shiba just wants to be loved & look look out, once you love her back you will have a new best friend for life. Disturbing to think of what almost happened to her. The level of absolute madness here is so deeply sad for many of these beautiful souls out of CA. Shiba is such a good girl her foster mum said, she is super sweet, she is so quite & lives to be near you. You look at her & she looks straight into your soul. It’s time for this girl to be the queen as she always should of been. Shiba is a good eater, she loves to eat & put on countless pounds since being rescued. Shiba loves sleeping with her foster mum & wants to sleep with her & does not like to sleep alone. So we are only looking for a home where she can sleep with her family or other dog friends in the home. Shiba’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard for her safety. She loves to go outside & sun herself & play in the backyard. She wants to be wherever you are her foster mum said. She will become your stalker. If you get up, she gets up. If you take a shower, there she is on the other side waiting for you. This sweetheart has been taught to shake paws as it shows in 1 of her pictures. She is a smart girl. Shiba has been great with her baths because she started having them with us the moment she was rescued & she was quite filthy when our foster mum got her. She is also so used to them & is good being dried by the hairdryer. Shiba rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good journey & enjoys looking out the window & going places with you. Shiba walks beautifully on her slip lead. We cannot say enough how wonderful this girl is & we want the very best forever home for her. We are looking for a forever home for Shiba where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. Shiba is good with other dogs & we have even put her into a daycare with all different breeds of dogs & she has done good with them. We are also looking for a crate free home for the little lady only. Shiba is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be patient with her. Shiba has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & she is currently with other dogs & was fostered in CA with other dogs & does well with them & enjoys their company. We have tested her for roughly 9 months with countless dogs in & out of a daycare with countless breeds & she has done well with them. But we want her to be the only dog in her forever home so she can be the queen & get all the attention. Shiba was adopted for a extremely short period of time but it was not a match as she did not get along with the dog in the home the adopter said & she had scuffles with that dog so they did not want her & returned her. Shiba is roughly 5 years old & 61 lbs & is perhaps an Australian shepard, but what she is mixed with we are not sure at all. She is female, spayed by laser by our wonderful vets. Shiba is, heart worm negative, had a dental scale & polish & dental x-rays. We treated Shiba for a raging skin infection where she lost some of her fur on her belly & legs with antibiotics but her fur grew back. She is microchipped, given flea treatment, up to date on her shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on Shiba, with all of her medical care than her adoption fee comes close to even covering, her spay by laser, all of her shots, testing her for heart worm, microchip transport fees bringing her back to WA state, etc. Shiba has been around cats since being in the rescue in her foster home & could care less about the cat in her foster home but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. We have not had her around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Shiba was conceived so we do not know who both her parents were, but it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Shiba’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Shiba potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Shiba has been through many traumas in her short time on this earth so when applying this needs to be kept in mind & for her care. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Shiba & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Shiba who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this beautiful soul of a lady. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Shiba has an adoption fee of $995 & her adoption fee does not come close to what we have spent on this beautiful girl. Shiba is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.
