My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Echo!

Smart Active Eager to Please Cuddly

Personality: Echo has a playful and joyful spirit that makes every day an adventure. Her enthusiasm for life is as infectious as her boundless energy. She thrives on being close to her people and loves nothing more than soaking up the spotlight as the star of the show. Echo is a snuggle queen, bringing warmth and comfort to any room she graces.

Socialness: While Echo is friendly and affectionate with humans, she prefers to be the only pet in her home. She thrives on undivided attention and is happiest when she doesn’t have to share the spotlight with other dogs or cats. Her ideal forever family will appreciate her preference for being the center of their world.

Likes:

  • Car rides and the promise of new adventures.

  • Playing with toys and creating adorable piles of her favorites.

  • Running outdoors and going on leisurely walks.

  • Snuggling with her people and basking in their love.

  • Structured routines and positive reinforcement.

Dislikes:

  • Sharing attention with other pets.

  • Busy or chaotic environments could unsettle her due to her impaired vision.

Training: Echo is a quick learner with a strong understanding of basic commands, many of which she responds to through physical touch. Her leash manners are impeccable, and she thrives on structured guidance and positive reinforcement.

Health: Echo is in great health but has vision in only one eye. Despite this, she navigates her surroundings with confidence and enthusiasm, showcasing her resilience and adaptability.

Forever Home Requirements:

  • Must be the only pet in the household, as Echo thrives on undivided attention.

  • A physical fence is required to ensure her safety while exploring outdoors.

  • A calm, structured environment where her needs as a vision-impaired dog can be met.

  • A family that cherishes her affectionate and playful nature.

  • Echo loves to spend time with her people but does well being crated for 8+ hours during the work week if needed.

Fun Fact: Echo’s toy collection is legendary—she loves to gather her favorite items and create little piles as if she’s curating her own personal treasure trove!

Echo is an extraordinary dog, ready to offer her endless love and companionship to her forever family! Are you ready to bring Echo into your life and experience the boundless joy and love she has to offer? If so, please reach out to us by following one of the steps below.

More about this rescue

Upper Midwest Great Dane Rescue was started in 2008 by a group of Dane lovers who desire to help Danes in need. The rescue is made up of all volunteers who lovingly give of their time and money to help these wonderful dogs. Volunteers include people from every walk of life, all with one thing in common, love of Great Danes.

Each animal coming to the rescue is temperament tested, given a physical, vaccinated, wormed, checked for heartworm and tick borne illnesses and treated as needed. All dogs are sterilized before being re homed. The dog is then placed in a foster home to wait for someone to love it forever.
