Rozey is at our shelter. We are not yet open to the public (but will be on 2/6!). Please submit an application from our website and email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org to set up an appointment to meet her!
Rozey comes to us from a shelter partner in Kentucky. Rozey had been living in that crowded and underfunded rural shelter since July. She was in a kennel with several other dogs, and one of the staff favorites owing to her penchant for giving great hugs!
Rozey landed in a great foster home up here with cats and dogs! She’s back at our shelter while they are traveling.
Her foster mom writes, "Rozey is a cheerful dog ready to find her forever family! She’s been doing great with house training, sleeps through the night (either in the crate or in the dog bed next to my bed), and lets you know when she needs to head outside. She is food motivated and has learned where she is fed and promptly runs to that area when I am ready to serve her meals. She does not have any food aggression, and shares snacks and toys with her canine siblings.
Rozey is a social butterfly who gets along well with other dogs, cats, and kids, making her a wonderful fit for families. She’s always happy to greet visitors and family members with a wagging tail and plenty of affection. We had a full house over the holidays, and Rozey got along with people of all ages.
When left alone at home, Rozey is comfortable in her crate and settles in nicely until you return.
Her daily routine includes breakfast in the morning, followed by some outdoor fun and an hour of playtime before a cozy nap. She enjoys dinner between 4 and 5 p.m., with a little outdoor playtime afterward. Rozey also loves her daily walks, though she pulls a bit on the leash and could benefit from some training to refine her skills.
Rozey’s friendly personality and easygoing nature make her a delightful companion."
Rozey’s adoption fee is $250. This animal is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
