Approximate Age: 5 years old Approximate Weight: 86 lbs Meet Daisy Mae! - Huge love bug. - She loves to chase squirrels up a tree or out of the yard. - Uses her hound nose to smell food or wildlife - she will not take food off a table or counter. - She loves to sleep on an XL dog bed. - Plays with toys and bones. - Good with other dogs. - Will go in a crate. - Likes walks and car rides - needs a boost to get in the car. - A true hound arooo and loves using her sniffer - Loves her people and may get anxious when they leave the house - Will whine to go outside, whether for potty or to check if there are squirrels in the yard - Will let you clean her paws when they are muddy - Currently on seafood protein dog food. - Takes Zyrtec for allergy symptoms - Ehrlichia positive. Treatment is typically 28 days of doxycycline (an inexpensive antibiotic). With this disease, a dog may always test positive even if treated. The adopter is responsible for treatment, including cost. We do not accept checks for adoption fees. Please remember to bring a martingale collar and leash (non-retractable) with you the day of the adoption. We typically have adoption events on Wednesdays 5-7pm, Fridays 6-8pm, and 11 to 3pm. Our adoption center is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Suite 101, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process. Old Dominion Humane Society is a volunteer based organization. We are run completely by volunteers, who also have full time jobs, so we appreciate your patience. Currently, the average timeframe for a response to your application is 1 week. This little guy is a twelve week old bassett mix boy named harrison.  13 pounds, this little dynamo, will run his legs off to come and give you kisses as he tries to show you that he knows the command to 'sit'    This precious little boy was born to a litter of six puppies, and whose mama was a pure bred Basset Hound.  True to form, Harrison  has his nose to the ground as he runs around the fenced yard at his foster home.  While being fostered, he is enjoying the guidance of his dog mentor, a handsome Golden Retriever male that is showing him the ropes.  He has a great sense of recall when his foster parents call him in from the yard.  Harrison is just the cutest little cuddle pup with his adorable short legs, long chunky Bassett body and the most adorable freckles sprinkling his nose and body. This charmingly handsome boy's name is McCartney and he is a little puppy born to a Pure Basset momma who had a litter of six pups.  Mccartney is a very sweet gentle lay back little guy who is 12 weeks old and weighs fourteen pounds.  He is a comical little thing that loves to sniff the ground and run on his short little Basset legs and sit in your lap for sweet cuddles and kisses.  This little guy is learning what a warm house and good food two or three times a day is all about.
