A friendly soul, she’s always ready to greet you with a wagging tail and a goofy grin. A true comedian, Abigail has a knack for making people laugh with her funny antics! She loves to play, and her enthusiasm for life is contagious. When playtime's over, though, Abigail transforms into the ultimate cuddle buddy, offering warm snuggles and unconditional love. At 35 pounds, she's the perfect size for any home and would make a great family addition. She has been treated for heartworms and is recovering nicely! Adopt Abigail and let her fill your life with joy, laughter, and endless cuddles! (ME, 8/13/24)          **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption: $395 which covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip and an Alabama State Health Certificate.   Transport, if needed  $160   We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip . We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs.  August 18, 2024, 2:19 pm

Story
Stumpy-Bassett Hound/Labrador Retriever (Bassador) male, ~ 1-2 yr. (March 2024) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for application to adopt. Stumpy is living in a very rural area with a family that asked for help in finding him a new home. He's used to living a family life with children and loves the children. He would be best as an only dog. He's a mixed dog but a popular mix, called a Bassador. The Bassador temperament can vary a lot depending on whether they take after their Lab or Basset Hound parent more. Generally, they are sociable and loving. We are fortunate to know how Stumpy has done, living with a family. Bassadors love attention, especially from their favorite person. If you want a dog with a very unique look who’s loyal to a fault, the Bassador could be the dog for you! Stumpy's adoption fee is $350 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. For our application, please email rescuebc@hotmail.com Include your location and a phone number for future communication.

Nocciola loves to be outside enjoying nature, rain or shine! He still has a lot of energy and loves to walk and run. He is house and crate trained, and great with children. Some more interesting things about Nocciola include his fear of the word "pillow," and his preference for stiff cushions over soft dog beds! Please contact Lowell Nelson (lowelln@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Maggie-moo! MAGGIE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:   Maggie      Best Guess for Breed:    Basset Hound Best Guess for Age:   2 yrs 4 months as of July 2024     Gender:    Female Approximate Weight:    34 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs;  not sure about kids and cats yet, but we can find out!  Currently Living At: Shelter, needs a foster or forever home!  Special Adoption Considerations: Maggie  is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Maggie is Looking For: A loving family ready to keep a big  smile on that wonderful hound face!  Maggie's up for anything--ready to run and play with you and any dogs she meets,  and relax on the couch when the playing is done.   She's ready to give sloppy basset hound kisses if you'd like to give her home!   What My Foster Says About Me: will update when she has a foster!  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
