Burton is an 11 year old Beagle/Boston terrier mix who we rescued from unfortunate conditions when we was 4 years old. He is now 11. Burton is a sweet dog who loves nothing more than to just cuddle up on the couch and get all the belly rubs he can! Unfortunately due to his past, he is very reactive and protective of those he loves and it takes him a long time to get comfortable around new people. We have a 3 year old and a 1 year old child and as much as it breaks our heart, we no longer have the time to properly give Burton the love and attention he needs. Burton has had a number of biting incidents when people have entered the house unexpectedly or approached him too quickly before he trusted them. He would be best in a home without many guests and with someone experienced in helping him resolve these fears. He is an extremely food motivated dog and is therefore easily trainable given the time and dedication.

I was living my life outside attached to a chain with my sister, Tater. The nice people at Cross Your Paws came and got us and now we get to be inside and play with toys in our foster home. I am very lovable and just want attention. I am quiet in my cage and keep it clean. I also sleep all through the night without any accidents. Ross is a loving beagle/hound mix with lots of energy looking for a good home and someone who is compatible with him. He is a very smart dog and has lots of energy, making time outside very important. He loves to run around in the yard and get his energy out. Ross also enjoys sharing his friendly nature with his human companions, and is not afraid to jump up and give you a hug and a kiss. He has had challenges in the past guarding his toys and being a bit aggressive around food. Ross would benefit greatly from a patient and aware owner.
